Richard Harvey

Lake Tahoe

September, 2002

This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.

At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.

Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"

Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."

We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums!

Hi,I have a question about SB 3.02 for Fly! 2. In the manual, it showed us how to modify the IP addresses. How about "select aircraft" under file flightplan? I downloaded ROTW's PA28-161 (great aircraft) and I would like to add that onto the list. Can anyone show me how to do it? I could not find it in the manual. Thank you very much.Regards,Eddy

Hi,What is stream corrupt? I got this message twice today. In order to continue, I have to uninstall the program and delete the folders, then reinstall again. After the installation, I can fly about once or twice. When I restart the program, I got "Stream corrupt. Cannot process next tag line [File]. File: streamio.cpp, Line: 826." I update to build 230. Thank you very much.Regards,Eddy

Greetings,I'm trying to reinstall Fly II on my system and I'm having a problem getting the 152-210 patch installed. It keeps giving me the error message, see attached. I tried following the instructions in the read me text. I uninstalled Fly II, deleted the folder, and reinstalled it to a new directory. However, it still gives me the error message. Any help on getting past this would be most appreciated. I'm trying to patch the original version, which is 152, to version 210 using the FlyII152-210update.zip file. Thanks again.Sincerely,Hans Groenewold

Hi there,I recently picked up a copy of Fly2 in DVD case, the european version build 2.01. 197I brought it successfully upto build 210 .But I can't get it patched to 230 ... While doing the 230 patch routine the installation stops at 86% done , with an error general file transfer: "please check your target location and try again .File name: d: (my fly2 drive) d:systempatch.pod. Decompressing files in d:system.patch.pod " .... looking at a patch.pod in my system folder Ican't find anyone. Do you have a patch pod file... ? What to do now... bright ideas very welcome... HiI have released the B707 with the precious help of Roberto VIGETTI and Roger MAZENGARB. It should be available anytime in the library. The B707 was always special for me, as I took my first flight with this bird, and I have spent several hundred hours aboard, going to various countries (in various weather). She always brought me home safely. This is a small tribute to this aircraftJean http://www.pixup.com/pub/fly/b707plane.jpg

Traffic on the highway.TJ (ROTW) and Henri Coudeville (ROTW) made a wonderful sceneryfor us.The North and South part of Bretagne (France) is a masterpieceof scenery-realisation.A very accurate reproduction of the real Bretagne.Very detailled and with a fantastic night appearance.Yes, we can see the traffic on the highway. With a little imagination* we may even smell the sea.Let`s make a stop at Dinard-airport an go to one of the excellentfish-restaurants in town.Bon appetit.Merci beaucoup TJ et Henri.:-beerchug p.s.This is a BIG download ,but you get value for your Mb`s (SIMVOL)So, forget the 56k modem .On the other hand ,very easy to install !!

Hello,Based on the research and work by Javier "Flight" Rodriguez et-al ...thank you all ... it really adds to the airport atmosphere whenthings are moving around you ! I have managed to get 2 airplanesand 1 little truck moving at the same time around a small airport !However ... ( there's always one of these "howevers" ...isn't there ),the models move great ... but I'd like to know if there's someway of making the external aircraft lights turn "on" ! One of my dynamic models is based on the "Flyhawk" .... and I have foundthe "FLYHAWK.ELT" file which defines the external aircraft lights ...but I do not know how to turn them "on". If someone knows howto do this ... it …
