The FLY General Discussion Forum
The General Discussion forum for the TRI series of FLY Simulators.
| Richard Harvey Lake Tahoe September, 2002 | This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.
At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.
Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"
Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."
We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums! |

Looking for the original patches for the original issue of Fly!. Think there were about 4 files and maybe 1 or 2 Scenery files. Present Fly Patch file in the library doesn't have them. Thought maybe they might be somewhere else in the library. Had them on cd and accidentally destroyed them. Still prefer the orginal issue of Fly! I know Fly2K is supposed to be the same which I have and use. Just too old to make the change. Thanks allRobert J

Open up your tiff file with your friendly paint program.2. Zoom in to were you want to start to paint (Click on "view" then "zoom in") (PICTURE 17)3. These screenshots are of Terrascene 2.1 scenery for Fly!2, using the Grand Canyon texture set HITW (aka Jak Fearon) provided for Terrascene and Fly!2K. Wouldn't it be nice if Jak could find a way to give us these textures back (and in all their Fly!2 glory).Don

I'm having a lot of fun with this sim, but the copy I bought has ascratch on the third CD (Scenery Disk 2). It's small but deep enoughto stop me using or copying the file MEDIUM1.CAB. The file is notvital but without it I'm stuck with low detail textures in a lot ofareas. If anyone has a copy of FU3 and is able to help me out I'd bevery grateful. The bad news is the file is the largest on the CD - about 378MB!Obviously emailing me the file is out of the question, so I'm hopingsomeone within Australia can pop it onto a CD and send it to me, orloan me the original CD if you're in Perth. I don't have a lot ofspare cash at the moment, so I can only offer to pay the expensesin…

Hi folks. I got myself a ECS K7s5a motherboard, Radeon 7500 agp card, 2 sticks of 512Mb sdram, and AMD Athlon 800mhz. Now, I was able to get it running for about a day, then when I was playing a game the picture disappeared and I knew something was wrong so I turned the computer off. Now when I turn it back on, it powers up but it won't boot, ie no signals to the monitor. The computer would make rapid beepings when I turn it on (still no signal to monitor). If only I know what those beeps mean. It's obviously trying to tell me something, and I'm dying to find out what, but it seems we have a language barrier :(Anybody knows any incompatability issues between those hardwar…
