The FLY General Discussion Forum
The General Discussion forum for the TRI series of FLY Simulators.
| Richard Harvey Lake Tahoe September, 2002 | This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.
At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.
Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"
Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."
We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums! |

I was playing with my repaints and decided to add a photo of the plane I was repainting and put it as the ICON on the Menu.... Here is a shot, I think that as long as you get the permission from the Author of the Photo you can enhance your contribution on your repaints or new airplanes. I am working on getting some permissions from a Mexican Photographer to use his pictures on my repaints, I really like the way those ICONS look.

Everytime I start in Boston, I get the following error about 10% of the way through the Fly!2 Startup screen...----------------------------------------------------------------Msg: C3DModel::load - Can't open : B002.SMFFile: SMODEL.CPP line 3701Time: Sat Sep 21 12:33:18 2002errno = 2 (No such file or directory)----------------------------------------------------------------I have removed every file from my scenery and data folders that relate to Boston or the area around Boston. I've posted a 'How to' document to help anybody interested in creatinghigh quality scenery for the UK, well to be honest currently only source pics for England and Wales are available. There are a couple of useful aids to 'capturing and stitching' the material together but it isn't a job for 'the faint hearted' as lots of work is still involved. However the UK now has the potential to produce large areas of highly detailed scenery to Fly! over and perhaps therefore we can help win back some of those people who have deserted this sim in recent weeks. Hello, since I do all the procedures with checklists, I recognized some strange thing. Voltmeter doesn't show any indication- XS and XE lights don't seem to work- Alternator Fail lights don't seem to work- Ampere Meter doesn't show any indic…

I installed the new TerraScened UK (London Area) quarter tile. While the tile is terrific, I noticed the lack of buildings at EGLL. I have not installed the add-on EGLL that is in the library, but was used to default TRI buildings at EGLL (probably from "cities.pod"). Instead, there appears to be a big blank green square mid-field. Here are two shots (sorry I don't have a better one).Anyone else finding that models disappeared? Anyone experiencing the green square from nowhere?-DK----David KohlFly! II v230Dell 8200 P4/1.8G, 1024MB RAM, Nvidia GF4 Ti4600 v30.82, WinXP Home Edition.CH Pro Pedals and Yoke USB.

Am I correct that FSBuild works with the PMDG aircraft in Fly!2? Does it work for any other aircraft? If so, I just searched the file library and couldn't find it. Any clues where I get it?-DK----David KohlFly! II v230Dell 8200 P4/1.8G, 1024MB RAM, Nvidia GF4 Ti4600 v30.82, WinXP Home Edition.CH Pro Pedals and Yoke USB.
