    Has anyone managed to figure out if it is possible, using scenery design or AFCAD, to set the Tower view to the height and location of the scenery tower in FS9 like we had in FS2k2?At the moment if you create a video of your approach and then play back in tower view the view is at some arbitary place and not at the tower location.I understand you can edit the tower position in the saved video file but that is a right PITA was of doing things.I have also tried locating the tower using AFCAD2, the tower position stays but the tower view of a flight video is not where the tower is located by AFCAD2.TIA

    I'd like to get a .txt file of the available parking locations for an airport. I can view them in AFCAD 2, but I can't export them to a text file. Has anyone accomplished something like this yet? Or are we all still waiting for yet another SDK from Microsoft?Thanks,Mark

    Am I lost? I just took off from KIND (FS2004 or FS9, whichever you prefer), Indianapolis Int'l, and did some local flying. First, I couldn't find IMS, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Then I flew over downtown and couldn't find the Hoosier Dome. Do I need to adjust my scenery settings? I have done a good deal of local flying at other cities and so far have found all other stadiums. IMS is a strong visual cue for approaches to Kind (R-22 R & L), not to mention it's size and fame.Frank P

    Hi guys,rather "just for fun", I fumbled around with one of the Megascenery LA textures, and look what I got (mind the gif quality). Now, it took me about 5 minutes to get there, so why can't the professionals do that?I tried to clean the textures a little (removed the dark patches which make the tiles look so blurry), and sharpend it slightly. I find the result quite good, however it would take ages to convert all files to 32bits, edit them and re-convert ... -Daniel

  8. In my recently completed Vancouver Airport scenery, runways and aprons will not show in TopDownView unless the altitude is set to 30 miles or I remove a macro of a radardome. I converted this radardome macro from ASD2.1, and after a few adjustments, the radardome shows okay in the scenery and is representative of what is there in reality.     Hi all Found today into my FS9SceneryWorldTexture folder a file called detail1.bmp. Found that it is responsible for that nice dot-effect (at least for me) on default ground texture. Also, found 4 other files in main texure folder (runway_detail.bmp, runway_detail02.bmp, taxiway_detail.bmp and taxiway_detail02.bmp) that do the same thing but acts on runways and taxiways. I was wondering: how do I apply such effect to regular ground poligons (aprons)? How do I apply such effect (dots) to my home-made textures?     I have been away from scenery design for some time and have upgraded to XP recently. I have decided to install gmax1.2 and copied the makemdl.exe file into 'gmaxplugins' folder. When I need to export the gmax model as .bgl file to FS9 I only get the 'save as - Plasma (*.P3D)' format extension option. I can't remember having this previously. The makemdl.exe do not open at all.What am I doing wrong? Has gmax moved on while I was away? PLEASE HELP.Thanks.kthy2003

    Hi, thanks for reading this. Do you know where I might be able to find some good Michigan scenery? Preferably something fully compatible with FS2004 and that covers the Southeast Michigan area including Detroit and Plymouth (Plymouth-Canton-Metteta 1D2)... I just reloaded FS2004 after removing it from my hard drive after it first came out, and wanted to give it another try. Problem is, the default Michigan scenery/terrain in my opinion is awful! Well, any help on helping me find some good Michigan scenery this would be greatly appreciated, please post back if you have some ideas...!Thank you,Steve

    Well.... This morning I stood up. Not running yet... But getting there. This I've learned this morning before 8:00 am.All Atibutes under "Scenery Object" Have to be there. Mandantory....lat=lon=alt=altitudeIsAgl=pitch=bank=heading=imageComplexity=All HAVE to be in the fileAnd.... All the ag_Buildings_1 thru 6.... are churches.I have gotten about 6 different files to compile this morning using XMLSpy.Joe W.

    Hi everyone. Is there a simple way to make small edits to the scenery of a specific airport? I usually fly out of Buchannen Field in Concord - RW as well as in FS2002 - and I'd like to make the FS airport a little more realistic. Nothing major, just some runway/taxiway signs, logos on those buildings that are correctly placed, and maybe add a couple that aren't there at all. Is there any way to do this simply, or does it involve learning a lot of stuff and installing special editing software as used by those of you who write some of these great add-on airports I've downloaded?Richard

    Very basic problem..I tried to run the Chelan.xml file in the SDK through BGLCOMP. Drag-drop or run withcommand line (chelan.xml) I get the same result. That is - the small black screen flashes very quickly. If I use any non-xml file I see the same thing thus I believe, for some reason, the process is never beginning.I downloaded the various XML items from Microsoft including msxml4msms.exe as well. I placed the results of msxml4msms.exe in the BGLCOMP SDK folder. This folder contains the chelan.xml file.Dick Boley @KLBE
