Hi everyone!I need some help; i've FS2002 here and i'm finally adding a couple of new sceneries of world airports... i've seen that almost every new airport scenery adds static aircrafts.I do not like static aircraft, but i like very much some pretty good addons....Does someone now if it's possible to delete this static aircrafts in some ways that do not affect the general airport scenery?Thank you all for your help!Carlo from Northern Italy

Hello guys,Since a while I am waiting for the possibility to exclude the default navaids, so multiple Fs2002 airports scenery can make to work again.I have seen the thread about using Afcad2 overlays and XML code.As a wideview flyer we do not use AI traffic but we can use the overlays navaids. It would be very nice if someone of you could explain what methode and order to follow to create new navaids and exclude the Fs9 default ones.I know how to create afcad overlays and their navaids , but from that point of is new for me.How do I create this XML code and how to make bgl files out of it ?And where to put the files ?Thanks in advance.

This scenery was created in 1999 by a young Frenchman named Matthieu Laban when he was just 18 years old. He published it under the title Polynesia 2000 with Christian Fonck's Flightworld. He created about 85% of the area known as French Polynesia. It was a remarkable accomplishment for FS98 - FS2000 scenery, he managed to capture the water color of the Atolls perfectly. ( I've really been there.) Sadly, it worked poorly in FS8 and not at all in FS9.I wish the kid would come out of retirement to make a current version. The first photo is an actual satellite photo of Bora Bora, then Matthieu's work from an overhead view.

Hi there!I'm all set and determined to change the textures of FS2004. I don't like these "jaguar spot"-like looking hills with trees, some fields of shrubs etc. I will use some other textures and overlay them to some parts of the old ones. However I have this reoccuring problem: each time i want to open these textures in a image editor i get the message of incompatabimity of the specific BMP that FS use. On other instances, however, all these textures suddenly become browsable and usable as any regular BMP--i can open them on Photoshop. So, i can't figure, which is the factor that makes these BMPs switch to normal BMP format? I simply don't know after which of my actions th…

I just made a departure from KSAN and noticed a second control tower located off taxiway B near the intersection with taxiway D (old Rwy 31). I don't remember seeing this there before. I am using only the default FS2004 scenery plus the Coronado Bridge addon.Any one else have this tower?Photo attached.ThanksBob

Until now, I have seen and believed that: Maximum Ground Texture Resolution is LOD 13 or aprox 4.8 m/pixel.the xxxxxxxxSu.bmp files are 256 x 256 pixels and that's it.Surprise: this seems to be less than the whole truth.I have just purchased the 'FranceVFR 1: Belle Ile' scenery-package (15 Euros), and guess what? They use 512 x 512 Ground textures near the Airstrip and the towns!! The visual difference is stunning! At 300 feet the ground is still crystal clear!Numbering sceme is the usual xxxxxSu.bmpLOD 13 textures are normally 43 Kb in sizeThe 'enhanced' 512 x 512 textures are 171 Kb in size. (Expanded to plain readable bmp the size is 768 Kb.)Checking out the Texture-…

It is a while since I looked at coastline work (my last project was in FS2002) but may I ask if the problem with mesh has been overcome? When reworking the coastline I found the mesh was still "bound" by the default coastline - all extended coast remained flat. In Fs2002 the only work round (and not a good one) was to disable the appropriate HYP BGL.Has there been any improvement in this area? Can we inhibit the default BGL's ability to force mesh to sea level?boneshttp://fsaviation.net

Does anyone know of a fix for the problem with helipads designed with Easy Object Designer of falling thru the helipad after setting on it a short time? Also, if anyone could explain why this only appears to be a problem in offline play? Offline, I fall thru within 2 minutes, usually much shorter than that. Online, in a multiplayer session, I don't fall thru, have sat on the pad for 10 minutes or more without falling thru. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Joe

Gday ppl, not sure if this should be in " one of scenery design's "lighter" moments " as it fits the bill just fine :0)Im trying to place a Refuel Trigger in some scenery and keep getting the trigger box about 4 km away.the Lat Lon in FS9 is S012:15:41.7692 E131:13:54.6638 ( dead centre of the fuel pad )when i convert to decimal ( and im not to confident with that ) or even input as is, i still end up way off the mark.can someone please educate me on how to convert that correctly to Decimal. Ive tried division by 60 on the Mins / Sec and still cant get it right.thanks in advance: Jeff

For 2003 I would nominate Ground2K, AutoASM, and the payware FSE(Lago)as highlights for 2003. These programs work well and allow you to modify "things" to a higher level of reality.Ground2K, when used with a good background map, offers very accurate road placement that fits exactly on top of FSGenesis USA 38 meter mesh. Add to that stream & river placement, landclass changes, and some mesh fine tuning and it is a winner. It is known to work well because of the low number of posts about problems. Most people are too busy using it to complain.AutoASM is a newcomer and still has some rough edges. Its main function is wholesale placement of more accurate roads, coastlines…

Happy new yr to all avid flight simmers!I'm working on some coastline and I'm using many VTP points. I then create the LWM polygons (which enclose my VTP segments) and compile the asm file. I'm using many LWM points/segment, however I don't think I'm exceeding the 317 point limit when using LWMPoly2Ex.By the way, I'm using Coastlinemaker to produce the polygons etc. When I try to compile the asm file, I get the following errors:Calling BGLC...Microsoft ® Flight Simulator BGL Compiler Version 8.00Copyright © Microsoft Corp 1981-2002. All rights reserved. Assembling: Sector1-LWM.azmSector1-LWM.asm(134) : error A2071: initializer magnitude too large for specified size LWMPo…

Since the inception of AFCAD2 in which this is a outstanding program and hats off to Lee Swordy for his hard work and effort. Now to the good stuff, I was messin around with the FS2004 bgl sdk and did some testing with it. Since I have a lot of comercial add-on's that have autoland and I fly in the LAX area alot using the simflyers sceneries. I decided to dive in and work on fixing the alignments of the ILS beams. I was able to successfully change these using the Official PIA AFCAD2 for simflyers KLAX as a base package. Within AFCAD2 it gives you the ability to easily add ILS's and NAVAIDS but it dose not save them yet. There is a way you can still use this data that the …

Are there any freeware scenery design programs to create airports/scenery that will work with FS2004?

I've released Version 0.6 of AutoAsm. This is still very much a work in progress and there are still problems to fix. Here's a short introduction from the manual: AutoAsm is a program that creates LWM polygons (water or land) and VTP lines (roads, streams etc), as well as other scenery objects for use in FS2002 and FS2004. It can also generate water for CFS2. In most cases the input data is in the form of a colour bitmap image. The following scenery objects can be created: 1. LWM polygons for water or land. 2. VTP lines for roads, streams, railways etc. 3. VTP areas. 4. Terrain mesh together with user-defined generic textures. 5. Objects such as trees or buildings …

I am beta testing some gmax software that uses a gamepack. On installing the gamepack for this software, I realized the gamepack for FS2002 Pro was lacking some good detail. One of the things a good gamepack installation does is add the necessary components to gmax as a whole without adding to the basic gmax folders. As a result, I made changes to the FS2002 Flightsim gamepack to make running it for FS2002 design applications.I have attached a zipped file that contains the essence of the changes. Under the ..gmaxgamepackFlightsim folder, I have the following files and folders:FS2002 shortcut to GMAX - copy to your desktop or put in your menu selection.gmax.iniplugin.i…

I have just started usign this over Airport v3. I have to say I really like it. Not only the design tools, but the overall look of it. Airport ground polys start to blend into your eyes after a while lol.Anyways, I am working on an airport in Australia and thay have a T-VASI lighting system and Calvert Cross Bar Approach Lighting System. Well Airport has these options but I cant find them on FSSC. Do they exist?Gary HayesPOSKY Aircraft [email protected] 3.0ghz w/HT & FSB..GeForce FX 5900 ultra 256MB..1 gig PC3200 DDR RAM..Sound Blaster Audigy w/5.1 THX

Gentlemen,I am having texture problems. The objects that I have created with FSDS2.4 and placed using Airport 3.0 build 186 have severely blurred textures until you are right next to object. I am using an Nvidia 5200 with 128MB of memory. The computer is a 3.0Ghz desktop with a gig of DDR memory. What am I missing as I create these textures or is this a simism?Happy New Year
