    Hey scenery guru's!I recently installed a pretty decent Dubai airport terminal into my FS2004, but the designer didn't exclude the default FS2004 terminal building and tower... now the tower is bleeding through the new scenery's tower - I think I need to create an exclusion BGL file to get rid of the stock FS2004 main terminal building and tower... how do I go about doing this?     Hi,as you know the famous Hong Kong Kaitak has been closed.Within FS9 it still existing under the name Hong Kong Int'l(old).Now in the real life and in fs9 also its runway,taxiways and parkings are closed,it doesn't have Tower ,Comm frequencies,navaids,ATC and traffic.My bet is to return Kaitak within fs9 alive again.By Lee Swordy AFCAD 2.21 I was be able to reopen the Tower, runways,taxiways,parkings,toreassign Comm frequencies and to restore all navaids.Without approaches the ATC doesn't recognize the working navaids and clears by ATIS,Approach and tower only to visual approach.AFCAD2 doesn't have yet the capability to insert approaches and I'm trying to compile, by xml…

    Hi guys,I've started working with tutorial from the MSSDK on gmax and everything was going along pretty good, until it got into texturing. The first problem is that the tutorial was made for gmax 1.0 which is very different from 1.2 at lease the material editor, ok so I do a translation.First: I set the defused color to the overall color of my house(light grey).Second: I drag the house.bmp onto the defused button.Third: I unlock the ambient color and drag the house_lm.bmp onto the ambient button.At this point I now have the house.bmp on the sphere in the material editor.     Hello,I have posted this topic already in a forum at scenerydesign.org but it seems there is a problem that nobody knows to solve.I made a library file with selfmade objects from gmax and converted to a lib.bgl with FSRegen.At first, with the default code from FSREGEN the object shows up for the duration of the dwait command an then disapears.     My FS file structure look like this:FS2004 -->All their stuff and folders and one is 'Addon Scenery' and in it -->'Scenery' 'Texture'--------------------------------------------------------I had some lake scenery BGLs in 'Scenery' with no textures. They show up fine.I placed the cellgrid BGLs in the 'Scenery' folder and Cellgrid's BMP textures in the 'Texture' folder. When I go to Top Down View I don't find any grid lines. I tried making a cellgrid BGL with my local Lat, Long. and put in 'Scenery' along with the others. No show in top down view. What am I doing wrong?

    A normal directory structure for an add on scenery is as follows:Addon Scenery (the fs file)+- Custom Scenery +- Scenery (insert all the custom bgls here) +- Texture (insert all the custom textures here)I understand that with a landclass.bgl, you cannot use a texture subdirectory or you will create a memory leak.     How do I remove the hold short lines which are visible in the sim? I'm designing a small country airport which has a grass taxiway. I understand that I must have a hold short node in order for the AI aircraft to use the runway. I want to keep the hold short node but remove the yellow lines which appear on the ground in the sim.     Good afternoon,I have stubmlesd in strange problem? when trying to move some airports around. I moved the airport in AFCAD to much the Dafif coordinates for the rnw, but while loading the FS9 and select the airport I moved or approaching the area of the airport i have a CTD without any message. Until now I have this problem in 3 airports out of 15 I have moved.I have checked and the new location is not over water or in any strange place just normal land.Any ideas why this is happening?Thx in AdvanceChris

    Hi all:I recently managed to set up AI water traffic in FS9, both floatplanes and ships. All works well and looks really neat but I have one persistent issue with the wake effect for the AI ships.I trigger the effect, fx_AI_wake_ship_l, in the aircraft.cfg file, either in the EFFECTS settings, as in "concrete=fx_AI_wake_ship_l" or in the LIGHTS section, as in "light.2=2,-19.0,0.0,-4.0, fx_AI_waterland_ship" This works as intended as long as the ship moves around on its own.     All I started out doing was adding the missing Crawford Reservoir near Crawford Airport (99V) and used Ken Nelson's LMdraw. Ken let me know that FS2000 coding was going obsolete so I downloaded the BLG SDK and started poking. I used to write asm code a long time back and got out of it about the time C was coming into being. Ken also pointed me to this forum and as indicated I am overloaded. I will keep poking around. I want to replace the Crawford Airport (99V) gravel runway with asphalt to update it and make it easier to find from further away. Its pretty hard to spot.   17. I've looked around for any building macros for thatched roofs, grass huts or other structures that might be useful around tropical or third-world airports. No luck at all in my searches.     I have downloaded this file "Taxi_edge.zip" which looks nice and realistic indeed. However, I want to use it in FS9 in all the Airport, but I know absolutley nothing about scenery designing.     I have created flatten files and removed the equivalent LWM polygons from the HP file. This works ok, however, obviously the flattens do not show up in map view. I have two questions.Can someone give me a formula to convert Lat/Long as used in SCASM Area16N (FSTFlatten output) to LWMPoly3/LWMPoint3 coordinates (LWMViewer output).Secondly, do LWMPoly3 polygons need to be convex? ie, will I need to split the flatten contours. ( I know I will need to do this on cell boundaries).I am proficient in C++, so given this information I am sure I could write a conversion program.Any help would be much appreciated,George

    What kinds of files are the textures 00_00.bmp, 01_01.bmp, etc?They are 88,464 bytes long.DXTBmp says they are not extended images.Paint Shop Pro 8 loads them as 256X256 images with 256 colors (8 bit). However, it says that the file size is only 65K and when I save the image from PSP8, the resulting file is only 66,614 byes long. Apparently PSP8 is not able to load these files correctly.I have tried every method in DXTBmp and PSP8 to replicate this file, but have been unsuccessful.Is there any image reader/editor that will allow me to load, save and edit this kind of file?Thanks,Phil
