    When I start FS my scenery looks like #1, with some of the textures very blurry. This happens in the daytime as well. The center of the terminal for some reason looks clear. If I slew up close, the textures become bright and sharp and I can slew miles away, come back and they remain clear as in pic#2.The textures are the same size and I've tried both DXT1 and 8-bit and both mipmapped.A tad frustrating after all the work that went into this.Thanks, Adamhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61446.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61447.jpg

    Hello you chapsAfter a pause of a week or two and a refit to my equipment, I started again on my scenery, and ran into a very strange problem.Normally, I was getting 25-30fps moving up close to objects in FS2002, despite lots of autogen and many objects (library). Now, however, if I add any new objects, these will only give me 5-10fps, even though in the same scenery, the ones I made beforehand work as they always did.It is the same 5-10fps even for objects which I previously used successfully.I doesn't matter if I use library calls with FSSC or Gmax ground polygons with Makemdl, the result is always the same.     I have been trying to add a texture to a simple box but the texture never shows up.I created a simple box and saved it.I then go into the gmax material editor and select new/standard.I click on the area that says diffuse and open up another window on colors. I select a color close to the color of the building texture that I want to use per the instructions.I then click the button by the diffuse area and go to a screen where I can select the bmp of the texture that I want to use and the texture shows up in the window. I then select the prespective view of the box and the apply button is highlighted. I clck on it but the texture does not apprear on the box. I will just go …

    Mr Alessandro G. Antonini has released a long awaited tool to convert bgl files to xml.I have tried to use it but when I try to compile a bgl file it tells me that the particular bgl is not in the FS2004 Library. I just wondered if any one else has tried this new disassembler and has run into this problem and how to solve it.Tom Jones

    Hi, I am placing some buildings on 99V. Excluded stock hangar & replaced it pretty nice with a texture in the SDK texture table. Also placed a 2nd one but want to color it tan. I poked thru the generic texture table in the XML SDK and find that only some of the many bmp's in FS2004texture seem to be allowed. I think I have the offsets x,z figured out as into the bmp pix x,y. There are lotsa textures in the texture folder that I,d like to use but seem to be limited to the table and its texture number to use. Is there any way to use textures not in the table? I would like some with almost no detail but not the strong colors as per numbers 1 - 7 in the SDK table. They …

    Installed don alexanders egnv and egnt scenery into fs2004, the scenery was for fs2002 but works apart from tree textures which just appear white blocks, installed vod and airport textures, trees v3 and nova textures but still the same, does anyone know how to solve this, its very frustrating, thanks in advance.

    Scenery designers.......I'm presently collaborating with another gentleman, creating a FS9 scenery using FSSC, airport, and EOD for the objects.We are in the beta testing phase, and here's our problem. There are 6 testers, 5 using XP, 1 using 98SE. And only 2 of the XP users can't land on any of our 6+ helopads. What happens is, that they land and then fall through.The scenery is in calif, not over water, and we've flattened a hilly area.     I have observed that the magnetic variation given in the map of FSNav isdifferent from the one shown in AFCAD2 and FS2004.If I take LEMD, for example, the default magvar shown in AFCAD2 is -3, andthe magnetic heading for runway 36L (approach course) is then359.76-(-3)=2.76. The magnetic heading given by FS2004 in map view for thatILS is 3 (ok, 2.76 rounded-off). 359.76 is the default true heading for thatrunway in FS2004.However, the magvar for LEMD shown in FSNAv is 4.7 and the approach coursefor runway 36L is shown as 4, in theory 359.76-(-4.7)=4.46 (rounded-off to 4I guess)I tend to think that FSNav is right, because if I put the plane at thethreshold of the runway 36L…

    hi,Help!! The generic building in the 2004 scenery SDK refers to texture numbers. I must have found a table or something earlier 'cause I had a note alongside the SDK example that said what the texture bmp was being called out. I have looked thru the piles of printouts I have but can't find the table that links the numbers to the bmp's. I have lokeed thru the FS2004 folder but no good.     I'm wondering if transparency is available in any form or any way for objects made as "LINES"?I've tested to add textures, and add alpha to these, but it does not seem to work. Obviously "LINES"-objects can have textures (how strange it after all may sound), but no transparency added to them.I've also tested to change the material itself to be transparent, but with no luck there either."LINES"-objects differ in many ways from normal "SOLID"-objects, so I guess this problem is something there's no way around, sadly.
