Hi everyone, I have noted the Library Objects.xls file... it contains the GUID for all the BGL objects.I have had success in placing the Boeing Field tower at the default SeaTac location but have had hit and miss with other FS2004 BGL objects.I am also interested becuase the .xls file lists the GUID for CFS2 stock BGL library! Have had no luck by placing a Zero or SBD anywhere. :( Anyone also run into this problem??

I've been trying to add library objects at my airport using the BGLCOMP_SDK with the GUIDs supplied in the excel document. I am able to place buildings such as the mall, etc but not any of the airport buildings marked AMS, DFW or CDW. If I load them, I don't get any building at all at the location I specify (same place where the mall and gas station appeared properly). Is there any limitation in using the GUIDs to specify buildings you want to place at a particular location? Has anybody found any decent airport buildings in the list? Any help greatly appreciated.

I used the attachscript in gmax(2004 Gamepack,Correctly installed with current makemodel and bglcomp) as to the intructions in the new sdk, but had poor results. My effects just don't show up!I tried it without an exclude file and still no luck.When I check the properties of the attach object the xml code seems to be fine.Any Ideas?

Hi allI have created a Flatten switch to lower a raised airport scenery down to the same altitude as the surrounding countryside..this works fine however the Runways are still floating at the altitude of the previous raised airport. Is there a method of bringing these floating runways down to the same level as the surrounding area. I believe that the runways are hard coded into FS9, but wondered if it is possible to identify the particular .bgl file of that airport and somehow change the Runway elevation.Would deleting the original AFCAD file work, and then creating a new runway with Lee Swordys AFCAD?Any help or advise on this would be appreciated.Clive

Hi!Is there someone who knows a good calculator that compiles decimal coordinates (like used in SCASM) to "normal" FS-like coordinates (like XML uses them)? Then it would be much easer to take exact coordinates from the SCASM files and add the objects to XML-code.Sasa

Hi!Loading by chord in LWMviewer you get the different types of BGL-files (example: AB954180.BGL, FL954180.BGL, HL954180.BGL, HP954180.BGL, PK954180.BGL, RD954180.BGL, RR954180.BGL, ST954180.BGL, UT954180.BGL). What do these files contain? Where can I read about these file-types of BGL?Best RegardsLars

Hi folks,i just startet getting used to Gmax..... I am creating a soccer-arena at Hamburg Germany. Everything works fine in FS except the lines. I used the lines-tool to create lines. Hi to all,I don't have idea why if you decompile by Antonini's BGLXML an AF_XXXX file made by AFCAD2 author Lee Swordy you cannot recompile it by BGLCOMPSDK.I don't touch anything in the file I just decompile and try to recompile it but it is impossible.

Hi Folks,I created some macros with night lighting and suddenly found out the night texture is not displayed at all... just grey blocks at night...So, I use DXT1 textures as day textures (just need some transparency), which format will be supported for night textures ???Thanks for any help,Torsten

Has anyone else experienced files generated with the new FS2004 MakeMdl killing night textues that were functioning before? I recompiled a project into the new MakeMdl to add the new airport beacon and lost the night lighting on the helicopter pad and the lawn. Part of the project is still compiled in the previous version of MakeMdl and the night lighting there still funtions correctly. BTW, all the textures are either DXT-1 or DXT-3. Thanks,Al

I have in the past created islands using the "earlier " versions of G2K and have had no problems. Now I am using the latest version and have created a fictitous island. The problems is that at night, the ground textures turn to water. At dusk and dawn (day also) the land is land but at night it isn't. Can anyone help here please?Thanks in advance.Colin

Hi guys!I have noticed that with new GMAX SDK for FS2004 there is new ImageToll available. Funny, it has smaller size (164kB comapring to "old" 183kB) but it can save into new DXT5 format and allows corrections to mip-maps in R,G and B channels. Hi there,i'm looking for any way to get sca-files out of AFCAD2.Flightproject software uses a little converter tool to produce airportlayout charts from sca sources which we could simply create with AFCAD1.4. These files are used to be shown in controllers ATC software and also for online pilots using the new ATOC multiplayer suite. Now in version 2 of AFCAD i'm missing the export function to get these sca-files when finished the layout work.Is there any other way to get sca from AFCAD2-bgl?Best regardsPeter

Hi potential helpers out there!I've tried to read the "Ground2K manual" and the "Ground2K-For Beginners". The last mentioned moves trough a process of making the harbour in Monaco - France more realistic. How do you know where in the original FS2004 scenery you are when you want to change a peace of area with better details from a satelite foto or map. I have a few questions concerning this (for me) difficult start): (1) Do you take a screenshot from FS2004 and put it into Ground2K?(2) I've heard of CellGrid2004 and downloaded the program, but I don't find any manual for using the program?Looking forward for the "revelation"Lars - DK

Hi,started working in ground2k. It's a really powerful program i must say, i re-did about all street, rivers and landclass of Rome. I was working right since i decided to start re-making the coastline. I re-did a smaller parte of them, useing the fill with land options, but then, here's what i got :(the southern part of the cell, it seem all coastline don't "ends" the land right. Can someone explain the relationship between the airport location and placing an object? I have tried to place ferry boat (generic ferry 1, object id f468350b4eef1c1bf676c29e9489a49e)on the water west of SeaTac. I made the 'airport location' the coordinates where I wanted the object, with dummy info for all the other fields. It compiles and FS updates when loading, but no boat where I tried to put it. I have no experience with airport, and normally would grind away until I figured it out. I have little spare time for that right now, so if someone could steer me in the right direction I would be most thankful!Robert

I've used terrabuilder lite successfully on three sceneries. I tried terrabuilder pro and can't make the bgl! I get an error "couldn't open inf file". Anyone know what this is? I'm terribly new to all this. Thanks for the help.

Hi ground2k users!I've tried the in's and out's of Ground2k the last weeks. Fine program, but to know it you have to use the "trial and error" method. For some reason I'm not able to find the 'Suppress' icon or the 'Suppr' key. They are mentioned severel times in the Ground2k Manual that comes with the program. I've been experimenting with scenario editing with ground2k4 and coastline maker 2.2.1.Now i have a few problems:haveing created the bgl for the correct cell (the same i use in ground2k4 and that shows) i see no grid.I placed the bgl inaddon sceneryscenery (which is active by default)and the textureaddon scenerytexturebut nothing shows.why?I used the standard syntax which comes with coastlinemaker, i'm pretty sure it's not a command fault.Second problem is with ground2k4 and landclasses:if i define a polygon with texture filling, the "boundaries" are cut even with autogen.But landclass cells are too big.How do you overcome this?How do you do if you need to correctly shape…

Hi,just today I found what I think should be a bug in bglcomp. I used two xml-sourcefiles which you find below. Both compile ok with bglcomp. But if you look at the generated BGL with a hex editor, you find a difference: whereas the file generated from Test2 is regular, in the file generated from Test1 the code is repeated for the 2nd airport. I tried the same with adding some other detail to both airports, but the result was the same. I have made some scenery for FS2002, consisting of some aprons flood lights and hangars, all with GMax. It displayed without any problems in FS2002 and FS2004, a bgl file made with makemdl for FS2002. I now used the same Gmax scene and exported it to a mdl, using the new makemdl. All the scenery now displays at an angle (pitch/bank). If I remove all the landing lights/taxi lights, the scenery displays properly.Did anybody experience this also?RegardsJohan
