    Dear All:I have a problem with a building I am trying to design in GMAX. The building is cylindrical. I typically use the unwrap UVM technique to put textures onto cylinders, however since this technique is more suitable for flat planes the textures end up squished on the sides of the cylinder. So I figure to make the object look more realistic, I would use UVM map modifier and then place a crop image on each face of the cylinder. The object looks fine in GMAX, however when I export it to FS9 each face of the cylinder contains the entire bitmap and not the cropped image. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, please tell me how you were able to resolve it.Kind r…

    I am using afcad to add some parking spots to a little fictional bush airport I did up with FSSC and I can't get my helipad parking to show up in the main menu of FS9. Is there anyway to get those to show up?

    Dear All:Have any of you experienced a crash when near an airport created using AFCAD only when the GPS mode is enabled? I have created a new airport and have discovered this problem. The error refers to the facilities dll. Noting several threads, I have reduced the display texture size to less than massive and the problem exists regardless of season to no avail.Regards,David S.

    Hi AllI've been using AFCAD and TTTools to edit some of the AI around my FS installation and find that the taxiway signs being left in the middle of the taxiway are becoming more and more irritating to me.I did a search here of the forum for editing these things but the results I got back returned instructions that require a background in programming which I don't have. Writing a string of xml instructions to be compiled is not something I can do.AFCAD readme indicates that a future update is to add the ability to add/edit/delete both taxiway signs as well as default buildings.Two questions:Any one know the progress of those features?Is there an idiot proof way (spell th…

    This is directed to Holger but also anyone that may know the answer. I just downloaded the file G2K4-bmp_Packwood-N.zip which Holger proccessed at my request. Now I am completely new to this kind of scenery design where as before this all I have done is place macros and such using FSSC. Now the problem I am having is that after decompressing the images and converting them to .bmp I am not able to open them with Ground2K4. The only file type that it will allow is .LWM. Any ideas in what I may be doing wrong?

    Is there more information somewhere on the layout of the fields referred to in the terrain header (TDFTerrainFileHeader/TerrainHeaderStart) like 'land cover', 'land class', 'water class', 'elevation' and 'main terrain data' ?I haven't found anything in the docs so far.Basically I am trying to figure out where the terrain type/texture references are stored that aren't defined as VTP data. For example like in the middle of the African Sahara desert, where there is nothing but repeating desert texture.     Hi all,I have made a lake and a pond for FS9 with BGLC. I get the feeling that the method is going out-of-date even though it seems to work. I now now want to exclude wrong roads and make some new roads. If I understand right, the VTP coding has changed for FS9 and maybe BGLC is not the proper tool. I would like to stay with all XML coding anyway. It was a terror at first but with copy-paste for syntax I like it better than the old stuff. What tool(s) should I be using and would you provide a short segment example of VTP point coding?     Quick one... Is there a limit to the number of bridges Ground2K4 allows us...?Our city now, incorrectly has, 2 FS9 default bridges, where it used to, correctly have, in FS2K, 9 bridges in our downtown area...I've already added 2 bridges out at our Airport, again replacing the ones Microsoft had incorrectly removed in FS9...Now in a whole new Ground2K4 file I'm trying to add 5 new bridges to our downtown area, and it only lets me add, 1 Rail Road bridge, and nothing else, except flat roads which don't cut it for bridges...I'm just wondering if I have too many Ground2K4 roads nearby in another Scenery directory, which I wouldn't think would affect it...Also what Line/Poly …

    I'm using the same set of data to generate VTP shore lines and LWM masks, but the points aren't identical. I noticed that this is also the case for default scenery.The problem is that I get water bleeding through the shorelines, which looks quite ugly.     I've been trying to get spot lights to shine on the ground in FSCOF. I know it's possible to have lights shine on objects because my new tower is placed next to a rotating beacon and the light beam "circle" passes over the front surface of the tower. I don't know if this is possible with the concrete FS tiles though. I tried doing a light _lm map, which works great for buildings but displays a big ugly black disk around it when hit by aircraft landing or taxi lights. I've read some stuff on this but nothing I can get to work. I set up a dummy scene with a large box and a light shining on it.     Greetings all!I have been making scenery for FS since FS98. I have a question regading default scenery excluding under FS2004.What I want is to exclude the default scenery for an airport, but keep the AFCAD data "visible", as in runways, taxiways, signs, nav data etc. I can make an exclude .bgl and it's done, but if I put an AFCAD2 file in my folder, I don't see the actual runways, taxiways etc. just AI traffic moving around in the big empty space I created with my exclude. What I want to do is lay down my API's on top of an AFCAD2 file.Can anyone point me in the right direction??CHEERS :D

    I'm working on my first custom building. My question is how do you get a sharp texture? I know that the smaller the texture the lower the system impact. I made one in PSP that looked pretty good at 1024x1024, but when I downsized it it looked pretty bad. Is it a trade off you have to make? I'm using PSP.Robert
