Hi all,I would like to change all FS9 runway textures to a simple flat gray appearance to more closely resemble the way in which runways are portrayed in Level D Full Flight Simulators. I was hopeful someonecould advise on the easiest way to do so. Thanks. Cary

Does any one out there know just how many "Add on Scenery" areas one can have active or installed in MSFS 2002 Pro? Is there an ajustable buffer some where in the program or one that says "so many areas are here and lets kick the rest out". Thats what seems to be happenning to me. Ill add an area and go back to the list later to see it's not there. Then if i delete some of others it will be there or I can add it again and it will stay on the list.Thanks for any info.Dizzy

A couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone knew how to change the numbers on Shes Ansari's number boards. He responded that he would look for the GMAX source files that could be manipulated to do this. I was wondering if the source files are posted somewhere.If so,where can I locate them. Does anyone have a source for street lighting, suitable for a causway, approaching an airport? Thanks Snowbird

Hello to everybody,This time I try to make my parking texture with Gmax and everything is ok but when I put it in FS the textures appears and desappears flashing.I knew that in EOD there was an option therefor called Drawing priority (Zbias) Can somebody tell me what's the equivalence in Gmax. Or a middle to have the same result. (stop flashing)Thanks a lotMichel

And another problem...I want to customise the water a bit more accurate rather than using water class (because that looks really blocky) by using VTP polygons. I'm assuming that I should be able doing this by putting the polys into layer 0-3 and referencing a water texture (say 055b2wa1.bmp). My final bgl crashes in FS2004. Any ideas what's wrong? Anyone knows if I can reference a water texture by number rather than file name?Also, I just browsed through the forum, and found that this may harden the water. Is this so (this approach would be useless then)?Cheers, Christian

I am fairly new to Scenery Design and have a lot of FS2002 Scenery I am using in FS2004. There seems to be some difference in transparency, as many objects such as people and bridges that were OK in FS2002 show up as blue where they should be transparent. I am aware that for gmax objects transparency is obtained using an alpha channel, but is there any way FS2002 textures can be modified without the re-creation of the objects?Geoff

Can anyone explain why the left side of the attached picture shows a smooth "unspotted" texture while the right side shows a "spotted" texture?I think the "spotted" texture is the default and I think it looks better.What do I need to do to create the "spotted" texture?Thanks,Phil

Hey guys,I've been doing sceneries for some time now but there is one thing I would love to know how to do. I've been seeing some sceneries recently, especially Martin's Fly Tampa series and some recent simflyers scenery that to not use regular polygons for ground textures... they use some other format other than a ground 3d object too as the textures are not blurry as they are when you do this. The textures are neat and look similar to that of the default grasses, grounds, cities etc. Can this be accomplished with Ground2k? How can this be done? I'm trying to find the best way to build this. I am fairly new to scenery design and not sure where to start for what I want to do. When you are at an airport, looking in top-down view, there is a perimeter line around every strip. I want to build this perimeter area in a new location. It must be flat and not contain any autogen scenery items. That's it! I looked at EZ-Landclass and LWMDraw5 but the minimum areas are too big for my needs. I recently released CMPcanmtpks_v1.zip and am having some autogen tree issues, that I want to clear up. All replies greatly appreciated. peterock

Hi everyone,I'm not sure this is the proper forum, but if anyone can answer this question, you're the ones. I recently added the Suisse 2004 airports to FS2004, which are excellent BTW, however, when I try to fly out of or into Sion, FS9 just quits and dumps to desktop. I am quite sure I have all the textures (Nova, Novagold, VOD, Airport) but would it be a missing texture issue? BTW, Sion is fine in the standard FS9 build. I should also note that I have this same problem with Juneau, Alaska in the default FS9 build.Any help would be appreciated, but I know I can always just remove the Suisse 2004 Sion if required to fix it.Thanks.

Hey, I'm working with Photo Scenery Maker to do the Raleigh, NC area. When in doubt...I am in the middle of building a small airfield. It is a grass glider strip with various hangers etc. I have initially used Airport 2.6 to create the field and used the tools that has to flatten things etc. As for the buildings I want to create those in Gmax. Although my initial reaction to the field was good, I now feel that the things like the Apron (which is actually very uneven) and the taxiway are to sharp. The polygons have a distinct edge, I want to make them blend in more with the surrounding field as they do in real life. Is there a way of doing this with any of the tools available? I would like to achieve the same results as Maskrider has with hi…

I downloaded the file and the readme aircraft.cfg file says to "Use these entries in your PAI aircraft.cfg files. Just add at the bottom of the last [fltsim.x] entry. Be sure to make the next entry [fltsim.x+1], etc."And it lists the static aircrafts files below.Which aircraft.cfg do I go to? I'm quite lost at this point.Please help.Thank you!

Downloaded Schiphol scenery update to reflected changes in airport. Followed the directions in the read-me file; fs9 read the new scenery file and made the update. When creating a flight at EHAM I saw no changes. THe read me file indicated the following which I do not know how to do:Note: this scenery must be layered above any Dutch or European scenery to make the exclude file work. For example: Scenery area type layer --------------------------------- Polderbaan scenery local 001 "European scenery" local 002 Perhaps someone might guide me through this process. Thanks,John R. Hi Group, Thanks to all the help I got from this group I finally got brave enough to upload 99vaprt.zip to the Avsim Library. Actually I had to do it twice cause I included the wrong texture folder in my first attempt. Its the Crawford, Colorado airport (99V) - Airpark with most of the buildings and adds Crawford Reservior too. Come fly from this 6500ft alt. 3800 x 40 strip. Give it a try and pass on any comments about how it could be better. Just finished the reupload so it may not be available til this evening.Larry Costa

Hello friendly simmers,I have successfully installed Northern Lights and also fireworks in some of my sceneries.Now, using FSEffects, I am trying to install water mist at the bottom of waterfalls or where there is white water river.I just can't get the effects in FSEffects to work, either they are not the correct size and cannot resize of they appear once not to reappear after.Also, is there a site where we can download effects?I would appreciate some help on this please.ThanksL
