Don't know if anyone might be able to help. I seem to have somehow overwritten a base texture / bmp file which is used by FS9 for the base area around airports, resulting in only red texture being visible, as can be seen in the attached picture. Would anyone know which FS file is responsible, so that I can recover the specific file/s from the cabs contained on the CD, as I don't want to replace all due to various water upgrades etc. already added? Alternatively does anyone have a breakdown of the file numbers in the WorldSceneryTexture directory and what they relate to. I have already replaced all the texture files in the main FS9texture directory but this has not resolv…

I guess it's time for my bi-annual post. I've been reading a bit about automatically coloring b&w photo's here lately. I've been tinkering with it off and on for a while and I'd like to get some input on if my results are worth it or maybe there's something better already out there. First off, my goal isn't really to write something to do a small area perfectly. It's to be able to crank out a large area (A county or maybe even a large part of a state in a reasonable time) fairly decently. Howdy,I have a problem with Ground2k4 that I cannot eliminate. I am trying to create some modifications for Yellowstone National Park using a satellite image provided by Holger Sandmann. I edited the HL918160.bgl and HL918160.bgl files following Holger's instructions and finally managed to redraw Yellowstone Lake in polygon, no lakeshore mode and cover the lake with landclass so that islands showed. However, I now have one area along the lakeshore and extending into the lake that is cool conifer forest (#22). I don't know how I managed to get this effect. However, I tried to eliminate it in my ignorance by removing the waterclass and landclass from the area but still have…

I've never downloaded and used any scenery files to date and I was wondering if someone here would tell me which scenery/terrain files are the best. Using Photo Scenery Maker I've managed to put an aerial photo as background for my airport.Now what I would like is use only a part of that image, leaving the rest with the default FS texture, so I can have a background image only for the fenced area of the airport (see the attached image)I think that should be done using a VTP2 polygon, but that seems a little confusing to manage with my newbie skills.Is there a easier way to make what I want? any specific tool i need? Hi Fellas I'm installing Shehryar Ansari's Jetways at my home airport which has 97 gates. The number boards on top of the jetways go from 1 to 45, but I need them to go up to 97. In his "read me" file he says that you can manipulate the texture files to change the numbers. Have any of you done this or know how to go about changing the numbers. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks Snowbird

I need to make a flatten switch for KOKC. I have some mesh installed and there's grass coming out of runway 17L/35R. How do I figure out what to put in the scenery.cfg? I've looked at my simflyer scenery, but am at a loss what to put. One person suggested changing the elevation in AFCAD2. But when I do that I end up under the 17L/35R runway. All other runways are working fine. This is the default scenery.

I would like to create a display that would look similar to a HUD display. I would like to have the HUD like symbols be displayed conformal and out the window. An example would be a helipad. I would like to have a rectangle displayed around the helipad and have this rectangle show even when clouds or low visibility obscures the helipad. I would also like to have a way to toggle the display on and off. I

Okay I have two scenery files. BCBases and Mr. Holdgers Meshs of British Columbia. I know that I shouldn't combine them as to the request of the person that did the bases but I did. Know the problem.The new lake altitude that Mr. Holder has is the correct altitude for the Shuswap Lake and the runway from the BCBases is now to low. I've been in AFCAD and I can alter the altitude of the BGL that came with the bases but it doesn't effect the runway altitude. Just the aircrafts altitude.Question is there a way to 'easily' raise the altitude of the runway to the altitude of the lake solving the problem or do I have to redo the BCBase BGL file to make a new runway? In the course of doing some AI work, I found an apparent bug in the fs9 airport database.In Sanya (Fenghuang) China, fs9 has a default airport called ZJSY (Phoenix Intl). As near as I can determine, ZJSY is actually the ICAO for the meteo station at the airport, not the airport itself. The correct airport designator seems to be ZGSY (IATA SYX). Looking over AFCAD2, it doesn't seem possible to replace the airport? Or could the old airport be saved with the new ICAO, and all the data for the old airport get deleted (other than the basic reference point) and saved, maybe a t a lower scenery layer than the "correct" airport?Meanwhile I will experiment and maybe it isn' th…

I have just got myself into this and a fine bit of software it is too. Hi,I have a question on add-on scenery done with AFCAD. When assigning a gate from the flight planner, something doesn't jive between the new gates and the "stock" gates.What I mean by this is that a gate will show up (like A43), but when selected, the plane will end up in the middle of a field, or the gate doesn't up at all. A few gates though seem to work.It's not consistent, and I'm not sure what I need to do to fix, if it can be fixed in the first place.Any help is appreciated,Thanks!

Would it be possible in FS to have float plane AI land and depart from a dock that is a separate entity from any airport. I've made a few sceneries and there are two that I would like to have docks attached to. I guess what I'm asking then is can you create an airport of sorts on the water the have AI come and go from there? Maybe make an invisible runway if that's even possible then set up invisible taxiways from there. Thanks!Adam

I have a problem with ground2k. When i updated ground2k V2 to V5 (I didn't discover there had been released so many versjons) I started up a new project, but now it's inpossible to make smooth coastlinedrawings.. I get the message "unable to calculate coastlines" everytime i try to make a smooth coastline.. This worked for me in Ground2k versjon 2.. Please note this is a question concerning FS2002; I'm a bit slow :-) I am trying to put together an Object Library, and am running into an issue I don't understand: Although my ObjId, and LibObj, and EndObj statements are all in order, I keep getting hit by that "Scenery Object Not Found" error message. Somebody put me out of my misery please. I have tried to get my head round Ground2k and I am sure it will suddenly click into place, however I would love to finish my project before FS18 comes out:-) All I am trying to do is add what can only be described as an extremely 'tatty' looking grey concrete apron at the front of a couple of hangers and have it blend into the grass ( at the real airfield it has just worn away with use. And a taxiway( and I use that term loosely) which is simply dark gravel over the top of the grass that has been there for years. Hi everybody!I know of two types of LWMPoly: (1) the ordinary (LWMPoly2/LWMPoly3) with up to 62 items, and the(2) the "Ex" (LWMPoly2Ex/LWMPoly3Ex) with 63 or more items.Matthias told me that LWMPoly2/LWMPoly2Ex was in FS2002 and LWMPoly3/LWMPoly3Ex was in FS9. I use primarily FS9 but I have never met an example of the LWMPoly3Ex in a HP9*.BGS file, and therefore I'm asking if i have understood this thing right: Can the ordinary LWMPoly3 and the LWMPoly3Ex be intermingled in the same "LWMDataAreaDrawPolygons" segment?
