Hi all.Another good tool is TerraFetch, by MapShots ( shareware if useful ):http://www.mapshots.com/downloads/terrafetch.aspIt allows auto-fetching of the USGS Terraserver images for defined areas.These will need reprojection for use with Ground2K4, SBuilder(?), or resample... but they should be useable for AirportFor Windows, SGX, or FSSC.Dick

Dear allQuestion 1I have downloaded AFCAD2.2.1, is this the latest version? I got an error message that it was more than five months old and to look for a newer version. Is there one?Question 2With AFCAD2.2.1 is it possible to import backdrops to use for accurate placemnet of runways, aprons etc. FSSC has this facility and if AFCAD2.2.1 doesn't it would be a good addition as the programme is developing into a very good scenery creator.Any replies welcome and thanks in advance.DouglasS

Where I can get some good static aircraft and or glider Macros please. Not heavies, small props for airfields. Or.....is it possible to convert some of the statics/A1 planes that come with FS9 ans use them, or any plane that I have downloaded come to think of it.Thanks for any helpPaul

I'm still trying to get my head round how I can add islands to the middle of a lake in Ground 2k4.I have a default lake which I wish to modify. To start I added a LWM land mask to cover the default lake. Then I inserted a LWM water mask to the outline of the new lake area. All fine. Then I enter the outline of an island within that lake. Using the LC button, I assign landclass as shown in the screenshot (I'm not really going to cover the area with golf courses!! -it's just for test purposes). However, when I go to FS9 I see no island. When I look at the area using LWM Viewer I see no island. I therefore changed the LWM land mask for the island to a VTP2 mask. When I do th…

Have a 3rd party airport in FS2004 where I like the scenery, buildings, etc, but the actual airport runways, markings are a bit dated.Tried plugging in an AFCAD2 of the airport - the taxiways, parking spots are updated and working but can't see anything... markings, taxways, etc. Appears to be about 10 feet below the 3rd party height level. The AI aircraft are sunken into the pavement about half-way!Can Flattening, Exclude, or any other ideas work to acheive this?thanks,marcus

If you have one photoscenery over an area and one landclass and one mesh scenery over the same area. What order or priority should they have in the scenery.cfg to avoid conflicts with other scenerys.I think its first the scenery as number 1 and second the landclass as number 2 and finally the mesh as number 3. Hi all,another landclass question...I'm working on an update to landclass files for southern Africa. Given the absence of suitable "African-looking" landclass textures in the default region (B, North America) I decided to try some of the Asian and tropical landclass types instead.Based on my reading of the FS9 Terrain SDK (TerrainTextureNames.doc) I was under the impression that I should be able to make a region-specific texture set, which then would be used in that region (sub-Saharan Africa, Region E) only. Hi there.I was wondering whether anyone might be able to shed some light on a coding problem I've got. I'm trying to program some simple tree objects so that they respond only to ambient light in the same way that autogen trees do.I've read the tutorials and the other scasm documentation, but they do not bring me any closer to solving the problem. I've tried various 3D-object design programs, but none have been effective. I've also emailed various people but they have not been able to help.Cheers,Matthew.

Hi, we've started making a xml library!!We use gmax, then export via fs20004 gamepack in fsscenery MDL , then put into great arno's tool xml library to build out bgl library file. During daylight, it's all ok, during night we can't see any kind if LM texture ( same daylight texture applied also during night), and then we loose our lights on the street light pole near our houses.During exporting we don't have anymore night texturing and lights to show. How's possible?thanks alotalex

helloI noticed that even though I assigned in my AFCAD2 file runways for take off and others for landing, ATC in FS2004 keeps using a t/o runway for landing or both..I am wondering if that is caused by a conflict with the default AFD data? I see on my GPS dual ILS <<<<< arrows overlapping as if there are 2 drawn over each others. My custom AFCAD2 file is in the add on scenery folder. I think in FS9 we do not need to disable the default AFD right?Or is there anything I am missing to fix the runways assignemnt?ThanksMichel

We are pleased to report that the AVSIM File Library is now fully back in operation with an updated database system, a significantly faster and more robust server and now accepting uploads. We will be bringing online our mirroring system shortly, which will allow all web sites to connect directly to the library files. Stay tuned for more information on that. I've been using the bglcomp sdk to place docks and boats from the libraryobjects.xls list. It's working great, no textures or texture folder needed. If I understand the fs2004bglcompsdk.doc correctly, there has to a separate bgl for each object? pg 9... "Note: unlike previous versions of BGL there is only one object allowed per placement. The exception to this is attached objects which are covered elsewhere in this document."At this point I have 8 dock segments and 12 boats = 20 bgl files. I'm looking at 3 docks which will give me about 60 files. Each bgl file is 140 bytes, buts takes up 4 kb of space on the HD. And it looks ugly to have that many files.Is there a way …

Hello all! I've got a question on one of the SDK's. In the aircraft container SDK under the ATC section there is a reference for the ATC parking codes which says to refer to the "Scenery Facilities Database Document" for airline parking codes to use in building scenery. Does anyone know where this document is? I can't seem to find it anywhere!Thanks in advance for any help.

Microsoft doesn't have it on their website and I must have the autogen annotation tool for some textures I am making. If anyone has the autogen sdk or at least the annotation tool, could you please reply?I really need that SDK :(

iI have the following 2 problems:I have an Area of 2x4 custom ground texture (the usual 022020220202...bmp thingy)Problem 1) That obviously excludes the street that original lies under that and removes all the autogen. No problem as the street was palce wrong anyway so I wanted to redo that street in Ground2K (VTP....). Unfortunately the newly designed street will be excluded as well where it overlaps with the area of my custom ground textures.Problem 1) my custom ground textures extend in the water, so I want to remove them where they don't belong (in the water) and redo the coastline. Hi Folks - it's my first time here and i hope someone can help me.I've recently installed the new FlightSoft Hong Kong scenery for FS200/FS2004 (i run FS200) and it looks quite good. However one major problem i've found is the water textures that have been included. They're bright blue and really ruin the rest of the scenery.Does anyone know how i may be able to amend the scenery/texture files to amend the water scenery back to it's default state?I've had a bit of experience in dealing with the scenery config files as i've downloaded & installed some scenery from this site.Any help would be appreciatedMany thanks
