    Folks,I've modified Larry Silsbee's Grand Coulee AI setup (he gives credit to Holger for the ideas) for Victoria, BC Harbour. It works great. I have them dodging static boats, and it's great fun when seaplanes take off on the same watercourse from my busy SPB. The fun part comes when the boats reach the runway, after their long scenic taxi. I have a 300' runway, which seems to be just enough for the boat to rotate, and it flies off the runway into an endless spraying cartwheel. Quite entertaining really. I'm aware that if I shorten the runway, the boat will probably vanish on takeoff.I want to implement ferries. The question is: what happens to the boat at the end …

    Hi Folks.This may have already been brought up before but I have a problem.Well using Coastline Maker and Ground2k4,I am getting areas of water where land just wont show up.I have redrawn the coastline along a lake and where the coast extends out into the water in places,I fill it with land.When I check out the area on the sim, I see a coastline but the default water area will not except a land LWM. This is also present for example in creating a island.I get a shoreline with no land visable. Its like in some areas ,MS just wont let me put a land LWM-poly over the default water.Is there a solution.Thanks Al

    The Material Navigator button stopped working. OUCH! This is for the 2004 gamepack. It does, however, work when I run the 2002 gamepack.Odd and I can't seem to find a work around. Do I need to reinstall everything, or did I inadvertantly change a setting or somthing when running the 2004 gamepack.Any help or ideas will be much appreciated.Rellek

    Hi, I have been starting to get into the BGLCOMP SDK and some scenery design and have a few questions/problems. Basically I would like to use many of the objects already in FS9 to update my home town.1st - using the XML/BGLCOMP method calling the GUIDs only it will only work 1 in 30 trys using the following method. This isalso true if I'm using the front end program SceneGenX. My question is this.. The object called above is from Washington DC and I'm trying to place it in Green Bay, WI.Will the object not be diplayed since this GUID call is trying to reach an inactive .BGL, I.E. DC.bgl ??     Greetings, I am posting this question again. I am using Ground2K4 to do a WW2 airbase in UK, and really like the program. But how do I get my roads that are on the airbase (roads other than dirt) to be unlit? I place them and make sure that the ckeckbox for night lighting is UNCHECKED, but in FS9, they are lit. Am I trying to do the impossible? Regards,Joe

  10. Is there a way to tell FS9 to fill up an airport with aircraft? (i.e. place ga aircraft at 75-95% of parking spots) Extreme noob here, I'm just getting around to learning AFCAD. Modified (cleaned up) my home airport (KARR) and now I'd like to get some aircraft at it.     I'm learning scenery design as I go here - my original goal was an accurate connecticut river and major tributaries from the Long Island sound to Canada. Too big to cut my teeth on, so I narrowed it down to "most" of the Connecticut river between New Hampshire and Vermont - still too big as a trainer - so now I'm doing the area around KLEB roughly White River Junction, VT north to Lyme, NH.     Hi all,I've recently started playing around with updating the shoreline for my local area of Portland, Maine. Using Ground2K4 I've created some custom coastline that looks ok when viewed from the plane in FS9.However, I've noticed when using the 'map' (from the cockpit dashboard or during flight planning) the custom coastline looks horrible. See attached screenshots.I really noticed this effect after I moved the default HP929160.bgl from the installation. It seems that my area-fills show up, but land LWM-polys do not.     I've created a new airfield with AFCAD221 and included a parking spot and two taxiways (ALPHA and BRAVO)When I call ATC for depature taxiway instructions, the text on the screen correctly says via ALPHA, BRAVO but the voice instructions give a much longer list of taxiways, including others than those I've specified.The AFCAD fault finder shows no faults.Any ideas?TIA

  15. I have not created any scenery since fs2000. With the latest version of FS is there a limit to the number of custom buildings that can be placed within a 1 km area? I would like to accurately create a particular city area which has several nice buildings using GMax. Does anyone know what the maximum number that can be placed. Most of the buildings would be between 8 and 12 stories. I do not want to use autogen buildings unless there is no other option. Any help would be appreciated.Dave

    Hello everyone. This will probably seem a very daft question to you seasoned users, but I have just started to use Gmax and when I export my project I only get a P3D file. The program is not unable to produce any other sorts of files.I have read the help files and they refer to game packs being required.     hi,I am bit confused about the distortion of bitmaps when creating custom terrain textures from bitmap files. I understand that resample.exe distorts the source bitmap depending on the latidude of the target tile. and that lon and lat have to have certain values only to avoid black borders (match th FS grid).But what I would like to understand is: how is this calculation performed? Given a target position of x deg lat and y deg lon. What width and height has my source bitmap to have to produce exactly one target 256x256 tile so that both bitmaps have identical contents (nothing lost, nothing added)? Has somebody found out what algorithm is behind there? Any help would be …

    Can someone help? I am using Coastline maker to redraw an islands coastline. By extending the coast outwards, I want to allow the mesh I am using to show high ground which isnt there in FS9 because it's sea. In order to do that, I will have to remove the default VTP coast and LWM's from the default FS9 .bgl files. I have located the HP and HL .bgl files and disassembled them, but I have no idea how to find the section corresponding to the LOD8 area which draws my island, so I can remove it. Does anyone know how to find it, and if my way of going about it is likely to work? Or does anyone know an easier way?I'd be very grateful for any helpAlistair

    Hey guys,Now that Flight1 released their great USA Roads add-on I'm left wanting more; Canadian roads. I've decided to start creating some realistic road replacements around a number of big Canadian cities.Now, my question. In the FS9scenery folder there are 3 folders containing landmark BGLs for north America: Namc, Name and Namw. Within these 3 folders are the road BGLs (all the files named RD***.bgl). This is where I don't know what to do exactly. Which BGL files in those folders contain the Canadian roads?Thanks,J.G.

    Hi experts!I'm having one of the more common problems with G2K4, and I am looking for your input.I am using Ground2k4 5.03 to design scenery for FS*2002*. I had to copy and rename my terraintexture file to be terrain.cfg, as it is in FS9 for the program to initialize, but for the basics the program seems to work well.I am running into the common "Coasts with no land" problem.     Hi,I was discussing with someone else the black lines that appear along the photo tiles made as VTP2 custom polygons. At certain distances a narrow black line appears between the junction of 2 tiles and it disappears as we come closer. I think this is related to a "mip effect". If I run the ImageTool Help window there are some options that could be related (?) to this artifact. I suggested that the sides of the VTP polygon could be made larger so that adjacent photo tiles would intersect in a way to reduce those black borders.     I have an addon airport which has a couple of Tiger Moths doing loops :(This seemed to suggest that one could create a typical Spitfire airshow display, ie loops, rolls, low fly past etc.I have searched the forums and the web for tutorials on how I might implement this, but the only references I can find are for FS98 and FS2000.     I am learning how to design in GMAX after several years of .api format macros.One question that I have concers the XML scenery library concept. I have downloaded and read the pdf manual on Arno's Library Creator XML product, and I guess I understand the concept of the scenery library.
