    ....head-on shot of a military munitions storage bunker (igloo), preferably earth-covered. I'm making a macro to create a munitions storage area for a base I'm rebuilding. I have the igloo itself made, and texturized, and have the part ready for the front blast wall. I need a head-on shot of the igloo showing the sliding blast doors and door rail/mechanical box over the top of the door.I've spent the last two hours surfing and came up with zilch. Several angled views and side shots, but nothing head-on or close to it that could be used to make the texture.

    I'm modifying the river shorelines for an area based off satellite images and need to get rid of the FS9 default shoreline (it messes with the mesh and interferes with my accurate shoreline conforming to the mesh). Easy solution is to remove the appropriate HP*****.bgl and HL*****.bgl files but the problem is I don't want to exclude ALL of the water in the bgl, just the specific part. Is there any way to exclude only part of it via an exclude, or any way to edit the bgl and remove the offending default shorlines?Ruahrc

  5. Hi all!Maybe this was already discussed before but I run into this problem and I could not find a thread on this. Here's my problem:The roads I made in Ground2K4 do not show over the custom landclass texture. I used the default layer 32 in the ground2k4 lines dialog box. I placed the _9.bgl files (that's the roads isn't it?) in the AddonSceneryMyCityScenery folder and the exclude and landclass files (LC_080_027.bgl) in the Addon SceneryScenery folder which is a lower layer numnber than MyCityScenery.The customs textures are placed in Addon ScneeryTexture folder.Is it really not possible to put roads over custom textures or is there something that I did wrong?     I have created some objects in GMAX and put them into FS2002. The problem is that they sometimes disappear as I fly toward them or past them. Sometimes they reappear and then disappear again. Sometimes they're gone for good. Sometimes it is a single object and sometimes it is several of them. I had this problem on my old computer and I thought it may have been a problem with lack of processing power so I bought a brand new one. At first I had created these objects as one big one in GMAX and exported it to Flight Sim like that, but part of it would disappear.     I'm having problems with Ground2k4 version 5.33, this is my first time using it and I'm following the beginners tutorial but I can't get past the part where I select the icon "New Object"; after I select the icon then do a mouse click on my map the software crashes with this error message: "run-time error 339" 'Component TABCTL32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered,a file is missing or invalid'I have uninstalled and re-installed the software.I'm running fs9, winxp pro.     Ever heard of the North Cape in Norway ?. Well,.. I am currently designing a total new mesh scenery for my home area,.     Does anyone remember fs5?,dos?,ega?8086?,hmmm, at my age I can hardly remember my name. At anyrate lets get to the meat. I had fs5 and a few add on progams, one was Microsoft Flight Simulation Aircraft & Scenery Designer. This program was very user friendly, fly or slew to a spot, add a runway, taxiway, some buildings, landing lights, fuel marco, presto you had a airport. Is there any programs out there that are similar in operation? One other question, How can I setup parking at AFBs? I'm tired of landing my C130 only to be asked what direction I want to take off.     Ok guys, in gmax 1.2 how do I get the 3D viewport to show the rendered objects. I've applied textures to them (and they show up OK in FS2004) but the viewport just shows gray objects. Models created in older versions of gmax, where the 3D viewport showed the rendered objects, display OK in 1.2I can't remember which options, if any, I needed to change in earlier versions to get the 3D viewport to behave this way.Also when I rotate any objects in the 3D view, they disapear until the mouse button is released.David

    Hello all, I was wondering if would concievably be possible to creat actual apron lighting that actually lights both aircract and the surounding area using an effect file. This would solve the problem of black aircraft on a brightly lit apron. I dont know if this is possible but I would like to know what others think on this issue.

    Hi guys,In my installation of FSSC there is no longer an option to choose between methods of exporting the files to the sim. It's a gray field instead of whiteand can't be changed. At the the same time no afd files are generated! What am I doing wrong? Any help would be highly appreciated!Cees Donker

    I'm thinking about re-releasing some of my early scenery. The problem is, I wasn't aware of the memory leak problem with landclass and textures. As I see it, the three lighthouse sceneries I've done either have or will create problems.So I guess the first question is should I fix it and upload a revision 2? I'm inclined to think yes.Second question- what would be the preferred folder layout?I can create a seperate scenery and landclass folder for each area. That would mean a total of 6 folders at this point, and any future sets would add 2 more folders for each. If I'm able to complete what I originally intended, there would be a total of 10 to 12 sets, or 20 to 24 folde…

    I have created an airfield grass texture, a couple of autogen areas and a roadway for my CYVR scenery, using the latest version of Ground2K, and all appear to be displaying okay except for below.... When I start up FS9 there are a few particles of gridlines that temporarily bleed through the airfield texture which eventually disappear when you get near them. I am using AFW for the airport and AFCAD for the runways etc. Any ideas what is causing this, where are they coming from? I can find no references to such a problem on the forum.NigelVancouver

    I was going to post this message and decided to try adding a roadway again, and by accident made an interesting discovery. In trying to create roads in Ground 2k, I had no trouble in compiling and displaying a one-leg road in FS9. But when I tried to compile a road of more than one leg using the texture asphalt/2lane/undivided median - #1243, I got the following error message in my log, and the road did not display in FS:

  19. Hello all,I've been working on freeware photoreal scenery for the Florida Keys, starting with the Marquesas Keys (30 miles west of Key West), moving westward. I'm attaching a screen capture of Key West.This scenery was compiled from free USGS 4-m black/white imagery, available from Terraserver. I *hand colored* this imagery with Paint Shop Pro, which was a very tedious process. Because of this, I can't guarantee that I'll complete the entire Keys.     Can someone please tell me how to get a bitmap image I created in PaintShop into the material editor and then apply that material to an object? I'm going through the GMAX tutorial and its either outdated or I'm missing something. For example, the tutorial says in the Material Editor there should be a list labeled "Scene Materials" but I see no such list. How do I navigate to my bitmap to get it into my project?     I have now managed to succesfully complete an AFCAD visual rendering of all the runways, taxiways and aprons at CYVR and have replaced the airfield grass with a Ground2k file. I have excluded the default buildings with an XML file and my AFW terminal buildings are displaying correctly. Taxiway signs have been placed with the CreatSign program of Vladimer SvobodaI would like to try Ground2k for the various roadways around the airport on Lulu Island(rather than using the AFW roadways), but I am running into problems where the roadways are supposed to lie over the AFCAD aprons associated with some of the miscellaneaous commercial and aviation buildings around the airport. …
