    Hi there,Just when I though GMAX was my friend, it turned on me. All I'm trying to do is make a semi-transparent window for my control tower. THere is no applied texture - just a dark blue window with the opacity set at 75%. It looks good in GMAX...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88860.jpg...but when I export it (using the FS2004 gamepack) the window part is rotated 90 degrees around the center of the tower.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88861.jpgWhen I change teh opacity back to 100%, it is exported normally. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88862.jpgAny ideas why this happens?     Man.With all the stuff to keep track of...     OK now I've that lake redesigned over a 38 m mesh. Part of the lake is at 55.8 feet part is at 103 feet. So I set the altitude of the poly at 55.8 feet (17.01 m). Result : nada ! I've still a "two-tier" lake. Any idea ? do I've to remesh (tell me no that I don't ;-)) ?Dominique

    @-@ I am trying to figure out how to take USGS Coastlines and transfer them directly into FS2004. I realize that a lot of people would not want the detailed coasts due to frame rates but I think it would be a nice option to have. My programming skills are not that great, but the program I am thinking of would be written in Blitz Basic and input Coastline data then output the coastline *.asm code.Anyone want to help me understand how to convert the USGS data?

  6. How does one add biuldings to a default FS2004 airport with FSSC? I tried but the new buildings do not show up even though fs2004 knows the file is there.Or is it possible to load a default airport into fssc and mod it that way?hanks all, Rob

    I have put together my small airfield with various bits and help from everyhere. Now I would like to add some people, I have two questions really.1. Does anyone know of some good 'people' Macros, preferably casual not business like.2. How easy is it to create your own, what do you need? I know there are some good examples such as Gary Summons airports and perhaps the one that still gets me are the folks at Orcas Island, who move around.Oh to have some of them.Any help appreciated....againRegardsPaul

    Hi Fellas Is it possible to add other textures to the lobby, windows, and penthouse sections of FSSC. The ones that are provided are good, but I have some others I would like to use. I could use EOD or GMAX but FSSC is so nice and easy to use that I would prefer to use it if I could. Thanks Ken

    Hi folks !Giving a shot at some scenery making in FS9. It has been a long time since I did anything in that field and that was for Fly!2 :). Way back...So excuse my somewhat simplistic questions.First question : some textures are labelled "DO NOT USE" in the Ground2k4 VTP2 tab, specifically "Ocean inlet". They actually show up nicely when used. Are there any further complications to be expected ?ThanksDominique

    Hello all,I would first like to say that I am not a scenery designer, nor have I ever partaken in scenery design. I leave it to the real professionals out there.However, using AFCAD I am fixing up my real-world airport. I have made it look exactly like the real one with one exception. In FS9, the airport is in the wrong location. It is a little too far NE. I used AFCAD to reposition the airport but now unfortunately, all the airport buildings and underlying texture (grass) have remained in their original position.Is there any programs or information on how to properly reposition airport locations (this includes moving runways, taxiways, buildings, associated groud texture…

    In the final stages of creating a joint-use civilian/military airdrome with a full air base (all facilities) provided.     I modified a stock airfield using AFCAD including adding a new tower viewpoint as well as taxiways, aprons, taxiway signs.I excluded the old tower in the same XML file in which I added a new tower and other buildings. However, in FS I still get the stock tower view - not that from the new tower. Everything else is fine.Any suggestions?

    Hi !Second question.I switch an underlying LC from water to land to first cover a small inlet (Area creation/modification checking land)then redesign it. G2k4 gives me then the same texture used all around. What I'd like is to change the whole "area" texture. G2k4 allows it ( clicking right>Landclass modification>select textures 040) and the show/hide textures button shows the textures.The prob' is that nothing comes up the sim but the texture used all around.Thanks

    Just a general queryI have made an aerodrome using FSDS2 and installed it as a seperate folder in the 'Addon Scenery' directory using the guidance in fs9 help file. It works properly, there is an entry in the scenery.cfg and it is the top area of the library list.The aerodrome is not one of the default fs9 sites.The name of the file does not appear in the 'WorldGoto Airport Search Addon Scenery' areas box which means I can only access it via the 'WorldMap' dialogue [ and Save it as a flight ]Is there any way I can get it to show like the other third party sceneries do?Regards Ted Cook

    I have installed and uninstalled several sceneries for CYVR lately. I just went to check out the latest version for the airport and when I took off noticed my Landclass was obviosly dorked up, but now Im not so sure its a LC issue as it is a coastline one. I have disabled everything that I thought could be causing it but not sure now what it is. Worked fine earlier. Any suggestions on what it could be?     I hope someoe here can explain why I have a strange problem with some add-on freeware scenery and also offer a solution.I am not going to name the scenery of the author as apart from this problem the scenery is fine.The scenery is an airport and looking in spot view I would guess that the add-on is mainly the parking apron and buildings with the runway being the default FS9 scenery.I installed the scenery, positioned there and slewed around to check it out, everything was normal and looked fine.A couple of days later I made a flight to this airport and as I taxied onto the apron noticed that the terminal buildings had vanished.In slew mode and spot view a large crater had…

  23. Hi. First post here so please bear with me.. :)Curious as to why, when I export a new mdl file out of gmax, to FS2004 scenery/addon, the makemdl dialog closes before I can enter lat/long? It didn't do this w/FS2002 Pro. It does create the mdl/xml files and puts them in the folder but makemdl doesn't let me manually enter lat/long or select any options. I'm using current gmax and have installed gmax SDKs.Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

    Hi guys,I'm using ground2k4, autoasm and Terrascene to update the island of Puerto Rico. I have the data in shapefiles which include LULC and Roads. So far, I have created the new shorelines with autoasm but I had to exclude the areas with ground2k4. The problems that I'm having are the chunks of land outside of the LWN polygons which are suposed to be water.This is how it look:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87511.jpgHow to fix that?The other problem is that autoasm is putting the shorelines with the waves crashing on the wrong side.     Ok...I have used Afcad to change the altitude of MT84 to the level of the surrounding valley (3084ft), both the airport ref and the airstrip properties.I have used FSTflatten to make a flatten of the area to bring it down the the level of the valley floor.I start FS and the scenery DB updates.I go to MT84, and I start on an invisible runway at the original screwed up altitude with a shadow cast on the invisible ground beneath my wheelsI see the runway where I moved it downI slew down to that runway but it is screwed up. When I contact the runway I am shot back up to the original level.Help! What can I do to fix this or is Bills software just that porked?PSB
