    I don't know if this the right place to post this but here goes.Lately when I start up FS( I get this message "Generating scener file indexes" and the "Building database for new scenery files". I know you are suppose to get this when you install new scenery but I keep getting it every time I get into FS9. How do I fix this?Thanks,John

    Hi,I tried to make a number of LWM files to correct bodies of water not well outlined in the default scenery. I thought it would be a good idea to use the new LWMPoly3 instruction instead of the older LWMPoly2, and thus I hand edited the asm output of Ground2k4 in order to do so. But I found a problem: whereas in the old style you could set the elevation to -9999 in order to cling to the underlying mesh, this seems not to work for LWMPoly3: I get deep holes cut into the survey of the earth!Does anyone know whether there might be a new default value for LWMPoly3, or do we have to find out the elevation of the mesh if we want to use the new instructions ?     I'm using Autodesk VIZ 4 and gmax to create custom scenery for FS9. What I haven't been able to figure out is how to add lights to the buildings. With FS2k4 Pro you only had to use the correct tag on the material assigned to the object you were using for the "light". I've read the documentation that came with the gmax SDK (i.e. attach tool) but can't figure out how to add an "empty" to create a new light. Any help or pointers would be most appreciated, and I hope I can repair the favor.

    I added an NDB to an Airport for Windows to see if an NDB frequency above 999KHz would compile. I got a compile error when using SCASM2.95e that the ID was invalid. Reverting to SCASM2.91 fixed the problem.I sent an email to Manfred Moldenhauer concerning the problem.W. Sieffert

    Hi to everyone,I have a small question...does anyone use UranusJay's scenery addons? Because I recently installed one of his addons (WMKK-Kuala Lumpur) which is great scenery as it makes more use of the space - but there is also a huge white patch surrounding the building. I have attached a picture so you know what I mean...I wanted to know if tI can do anything to overcome this, as it is a shame to not use it.Thanks..

    When i attach an object via gmax and I place it outside the exclude area it shows, but if I want to place it at the airport the attached objects dissapear, only the regular ones shows up...Does this mean that we can't attach objects to an excluded area???please answer gurus....

    I am using the AttachTool to put some effects in my Gmax's file as well as it's in the Gmax's SDK tutorial.The file is exporting without error and bglcomp is compiling the file also.In fs the object with the atach effect is not appearing as expected, but the effect not appear :-(Someone has a ideia of that it can be wrong?Thanks!_____________________________Fernando [email protected]#4947332

    Hi!Trying to add a refuel-area to my airport in FS2004, based on the info in the new BGL comp-SDK. I got the trigger (see code below) to compile ok, however the sim crashes as soon as I try to look in the direction of where the area is located.I have not yet tried to define airport-facility data manually, and in this defining the airport to have a fuel service, so this might be a problem.     Hi everyone, I'm trying to make a scenery at the moment, for now i havent even started with gmax (although i have used it a wee bit before). At the moment I am using Airport 2.6 to lay the ground textures of the airport, (I am using FS2002 by the way) and I notice that my grass textures don't really blend with the default scenery surrounding the airport, are there any tricks to make it blend a bit more? Perhaps I'm just using a bad grass texture? Im trying to get one thats realistic to the airport, which the surrounding default scenery Im trying to blend it in with isnt always realistic to the region. Also, a small bit is on a coast, airport seems to have a tool LWM scene…

    Hello,I'm trying to scale down Tom Burnett's Baggage Cart Macro a bit and I don't seem to be having much success. I tried scaling down the macro in FSSC and although the macro appeared to be scaled down, once I loaded FS it was obvious there was no change to the size of the macro. Also I tried changing the scale in the API like this,SetScaleX( :End 0 0 13 ) ; Scale=0.01 mif( %5 )still no luck.What am I doing wrong? Can someone please help?Thanks,Brandon

    Hi - Ok, I tried out FSSC this morning... easy stuff, and fast!After compiling, however, and starting FS, I can't find my airport in the list... I gave it a unique name and identifier, and indeed watched as FS recognized and did whatever it does to newly recognized scenery, but nothing's there.BTW I used the FSSC tutorial to set it up.Any recommendations appreciated!Thanks,Andrew

Hi all!My name is Kim Dahl, and I am working on the coast lines, rivers etc. for a new version of the Copenhagen Scenery for FS2002 and FS2004, and my part of the project consists of several Ground2K projects, made with Ground2K4 V5.32. Until recently I have been able to to make FS2002 compatible bgl files using the converter by Edgar Knobloch and then re-opening the converted lwm files in Ground2K.     I've generated a watermask using terrascene 2.1 of an entire globe tile (fly) that weighs in at about 800mb as a tga. I've managed to convert that to raw using irfanview, then to a bmp in photoshop CS, but slarti fails to load it with the following:--> Loading water dataScaling ".KLEB SourceKLEB-centerw.bmp" Promoting image type 1 to 16-bit***Failed to promote image to 16-bit.   24. OK, I've completely replaced the default coastlines for Long Island, NY... including canal systems, streams, lakes, and ponds. I've pretty much finished my own testing, but since it's such a large area, I'd like to get a few more eyes on it before full release. It gets along great with FSgenesis mesh and landclass, as well as USA Roads.     I am using (or trying to) FSSC with FS2004 in windows xp. I set the directories and such, then attempted to add a couple of buildings to a default grass strip in maryland. After exporting the scenery and opening FS2004, I get the message that fs has seen the new scenery and it rebiulds the scenery database. When I go to the airport tho, the buildings do not show up. I checked the location and elevation in FSSC.Any ideas what is going wrong?ThanksRob
