To save alot of time i did this:1. Disassemble the airport AP########.bgl ( use afcad2.21 to find the correct file ) using NewBglAnalyze.exe ( found at http://www.scenery.org/design_utilities_c.htm ). Using bglxml.exe DOES NOT work at all times. It will get some but only if they are in correct order in the base .bgl/.xml.2. Locate the for your airport from the NewBglAnalyze output, separate and save for future use. 3. Create a new .xml, modify location(s)/type(s)/size(s) etc... from #2, new file in this order: 4. Hi.I am new working with G2k4.Ive read the manual and the update for G2K4 several times and cant figure out my problem.When I draw out a poly and insign a texture # say #93.I compile and put the bgl into the scenery.My layout comes out with sections sharply cut off.I have even changed the layer value several times.I cannot figure out where Im going wrong. Ive been at this for 2 days now , re reading the manuals over and over looking for something Im missing.Please help me.See attachmentThanks Lucky

I am having a slight problem with API's I am not 100% sure how to get a bmp texture loaded into my api. When using Airport I can see my api but no texture. When I complie the bgl the api shows up fine in FS2002, but still shows no texture. I have a texture folder in my scenery directory with the texture...have i left something out?

Hello again, folks...I have another vexing problem that I can't seem to figure a way out of just yet.I am reworking an airport in New Hampshire (NH69). It required me to move it to it's proper location (sync up with USARoads). I then added in a network of grass taxiways, just as it has in real life. My problem is autogen trees...I created a new background matte VTP2 polygon for the runway area - the texture I selected does NOT have any autogen assigned to it, and I have a clear runway. The texture I would like to use for the area near the taxiways, however, does have autogen - and the trees are growing in the center of some taxiways. I would strongly like to use this grou…

Last night I downloaded and attempted to install the excellent looking Boston Logan scenery. Upon extracting the files to FS9/Addon Scenery/Scenery per the directions, I restarted FS to enable the area in Settings. Then I get the error message that I cant install files on the PC, and to have the administrator install the scenery files.No, there's no scenery installer. Its just a zip file and when I restarted FS after installing it per the directions, I get the message stating that I cant install the files since Im not the administrator even though Windows says that I am. I have even uninstalled the scenery and deleted it, and still get the message. What gives? Thanks!Eric

I need some help please with gmax.I have made a drill rig using Spline -LINE. I've got all the 4 sides, tapered it with ROTATE (probably the long way .. found a Taper tool!).I now have all the 4 bits leaning together but....How do I WELD the 4 sides together ??I've used GROUP but there are a few bits that seem a little bit apart.I looked at gmax help but got very confused with vertex's, splines, mesh etc.. Basically i'm trying to SNAP the edges together so there are not any gaps..ThanksGarry:-(

I'm using G2K4 for a small project, and one of the things I'm doing is laying down some small ground polys using VTP2s with my own custom textures. If I do that, is it possible to get autogen to show as well via annotating the custom textures?And on a related note, I've also tried using VTP2s set to 253 (custom terrain textures), getting the correct texture name from G2k4 and then putting that texture in my local "texture" folder, but they never seem to show. Is that the preferred technique? I know it would work if I made a standard block of custom textures using resample, but this way seems different somehow.thanks,

I've been playing around with texture - both for ground surfaces and buildingg macros- altering and experimenting.What I need to know is what color is default transparent - for instance to make an open doorway so you can see inside a building or to create a "soft edged " ground texture where the underlaying default texture can show thru in places.I thought it would be black - same as in panel bitmaps but so far this hasn't worked.Dave

I have uploaded some 14-15 MB of West Virginia and sourrounding area. The LWM and VTP files were produced using TerraScene to produce the line data, and Chris Kline's AutoAsm to produce the great BGL files. There is much work to be done but for now it is very useful for VFR flying.If you have any comments or suggestions please let me know.Richard Hill;

Hello Everyone,I've been trying to download Zoner Draw 3 for the past three days with no luck. I fill out the little box, press the download button, a little modem activity occurs and the blue progress bar moves a ways to the right. However, it always gets to a point and then nothing happens. I receive no error messages, etc. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you circumvent it?I sent an e-mail to www.zoner.com describing the problem but have not received a response. I'd like to try using the program a la Holger's thread but am stumped for the present.Wil

Can someone create a good free-ware scenery for chicago-Midway KMDW. The default airport looks nothing close to the real one, well not the building, and some taxiways dont call match. Thanks, Brian

I think the AB927160.bgl contains the building/hanger XML data for the Airports in my area but I cant de-compile it, tried various BGLX/analyze versions, perhaps this is the wrong file? I have found various ILS, checker_shed etc. info in APxxxxxx.bgls but I am looking for the default hangers.Anyone have a clue?

I made a house with gmax.the house and the texture come out fine in fs2004 but when i go near it disappears and when i go far it reappears again.why is this happening.While creating a bgl file i have kept the draw diastance at 10,000 and the scenery complexity at normal.

I have just built my first Wire fence using Gmax. I created a simple mesh object and textured it with a pattern of the fence. The Alpha channel works great I can see through the fence in FS9. However when the Sun moves round it cast a solid shadow. Now I have to be honest and I cannot remember if I have ever seen a wire fence that does cast the correct shadow or whether they all react like this. It would be nice to have but not desperate. Anyone know if this is achievable and if so, how do you go about doing itThanksPaul

I may be the only person who doesn't know this - but I pass it on just in case:It seems that the default FL******.bgl files in FS9 can overlap and have flatten polygons repeated in two adjacent .bgl files. I discovered this when I was moving another default FS airport. It so happened that not only was the default MS airport about 500m west of where it should be, but there was also a stream missing. I duly used LWMViewer (thanks again Jim Kier) to remove the flatten poly, AFCAD to put the runways in the right place and Ground2K4 to correct the stream and several roads. When I was done I was puzzled to note that the original flatten was still there! This was obvious fr…

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum and hope someone can help.I would really love to create some macros for my local airfield. I know how to make the macro itself using nova but i have absolutly no idea how to greate the textures or apply them to the macro.Im thinking along the lines of using photos of the original buildings to convert to textures.Anyone able to tell me how to do this and what software i would need?Cheers and thanks for a great forum.

Hi folks...I'm tackling my first airport "move n' enhance" project - a small airstrip in New Hampshire has drawn my attention because it is the base of an aviation community my girlfriend's father lives in.I noticed it is skewed off alignment when compared against USARoads, so I took to moving it proper and adding some new elements.* I have sucessfully moved the grass strip (and starting locations) to it's rightful coordinates using AFCAD2. Hi,I'm brand new at using GMAX and making my first scenery model. I just created a white geosphere (smooth switch off) 46 meters in diameter placed at x=0, y=0, z=23 meters.When I export to FS9 scenery .mdl file it spits out the following log file and fails to create the .mdl file:Running modelStart! Hi, I've read in several threads in this forum that in order to avoid having the the resample tool to resample your images (so that they can be draped onto mesh terrain) it's best to use either photoshop or paintshop pro to resample the images to get a resolution of 4.8m/pixel. As such I agree! But even though they have been resampled already, once I go to create the images and bgl, the resample tool still re-touches my images and it ruins them completely. Is there a way how I can avoid having the resample tool not touch my already resampled photo? I just want it create the bgl and split the photos for me only!!Thanks and regardsDaniel

I've been trying to learn SBuilder (and AutoASM but that's a different problem!) and need some help on approach.I am fixing some default scenery, consisting of islands and terrain within. I have landclass and waterclass assigned as needed already (and mesh is OK too).I have BLN files generated from ESRI shapefiles to input. My first project is to import the coastline. So far so good.
