  2. Hi,I'm adding a feature to my program that is under development. Long story short, I need to be able to determine if the aircraft in FS is in a certain country or geographic region.To do that, I need to know the Lat/Long Coordinates that define each country's boundaries.Programming that is easy once I have the info. The hard part is getting the LAT/LON coordinates for national boundaries.I don't have a World Map handy. Does anyone know where, on-line,I can get a map that displays Lat/Lon for all the world's countries?The coords for the national borders don't need to be super accurate, just a ball park will do... ie., define France as one big square with lat/long coords…

    As I have mentioned previous, I am a newbie terrain designer! I was looking at FL926210.BGL with LWMViewer and exported the file with LWMViewer and disassembled it with BGLAnalyzer and got two different results.BGLAnalyzer indicates the flattens are LWMPoly2(s) and the LWMViewer export indicates the flattens are LWMPoly3(s). I believe I can rectify that since BGLAnalyzer was written for FS2002 and not FS2004, where I believe the LWMPoly3 came about.The second area has me confused. It seems LWMViewer export is saying all the flattens are water if I am interpreting TDFMacro.inc correctly. Below is a portion of TDFMacro.inc and a portion of the LWMViewer export:; -------…

    I'm not a scenery designer, but I was wondering if someone could do a quick mod to the default Memphis TN USA scenery and post it.Thy Pyramid in Downtown Memphis is placed on Mud Island instead of on the Memphis/Downtown side of the River ... and I that bothers me a little bit.     Hi,I'm experiementing with USGS 3.75 minute color infared digital orthophotoquads (what a mouthful!) as a source for aerial images in designing photoreal scenery for FS2004.The USGS site details that this particular imagery is projected in UTM format, based on the NAM83 reference datum. It is my understanding that NAM83 conforms to the WGS84 standard specified in Microsoft's Terrain Tools SDK. Am I good to go then with UTM/WGS84 imagery of this kinds in terms of correct projection and alignment in FS2004?Thank you!

    Hi,I've just started getting into using photo-real textures and designing scenery for FS2004. I'm currently using Elrond Elvish's Resample tools as my primary front-end program, along with his great Texture Tool utility.Assuming that one starts off with imagery projected in accordance with the WGS84 format (as specified in Microsoft's Terrain Tool SDK) and calibrates the associated lat/long area with precision, ect - how closely should photo scenery correctly match up to Microsoft's default airport runways/taxiways?     Greetings...I am taking my first steps into 3D object (scenery) design. As part of my project to detail an airport in New Hampshire, I am trying to add a few simple objects - houses, hangers, and other notable objects. I have taken to using FSDS2 due to its reasonable learning curve, but I am running into a slight hiccup.I have created a few test objects - a house and a sign.     Gentlemen,I'm new to GMAX but am having some success with scenery creation for FS2004. Is there a way to avoid having to delete the comment lines and reenter the lat longs everytime you recompile. It seems cumbersome to do that if you are going back and forth on a particular project.

    Can I have another pick of your brains please?I have a 256x256 texture (made up of 6 different images).I made a rectangle to create a basic Portacabin structure, to which I want to map one of these textures on to each face.I use the uvw and can select the face & the texture I want BUT when applying the said picture it just stretches and looks garbage.What is the simple way to stop this happening???cheersgaz

    Is there a replacement texture somewhere for the desert sage leopard skin texture provided by Microsoft. Or, is there a way to add more sage brush to give it some "life".     I've been redoing the surroundings of LEMD to include River Jarama, which is missing in the default scenery. I have used Ground2k4 succesfully to create two LWM bgls, one with the roads, and one with the river, but I get the river overcrossing the highway, instead of viceversa...as per attached pic.I have tried several approaches with no success, what is the trick to make a river go UNDER the highway???ThanksJoaquin

    Good eveningI am using FSDS2 to build objects/scenery and export them directly as bgl files as well as api files for further designing in Fs Architect. However I am unable to control the distance the macros are visible. The macros can be seen from very long distance and do therefore harm framerates. I tried to change the area types but without results.Hope someone can helpKjartan

    I may be the last person in the world to have figured this out, but:I had previously tried to use CFS2 ships as AI ships (using the method shown by Holger), but was unable to get them to work. This was apparently because the aircraft_radius is "n/a" and this value cannot be changed using the AFCAD2 aircraft editor.I just discovered that I can make them work by changing the radius of the Gates in the AFCAD files. I am using the MilCargo gates (although any should work) and have increased the radius values of the various gates to 500 and 999.I am now able to use all the WW2 ships of the "Virtual Navy", from battleships to escort carriers to destroyers.     I've designed a number of sceneries with GMAX and they are just fine in FS with the default mesh. Some of my beta testers are reporting sunken or floating buildings after they have installed Mesh file add-ons.My question is is there some way to have the buildings appear at the proper elevation without reexporting? And...if I install the mesh before exporting, will the buildings be at the proper elevation ie not burried or floating. When MakeMDL exports, does it read the mesh in FS to place the building on the ground? Will the addition of mesh prior to exporting be taken into consideration for placement?Sorry for the rather convoluted questions.Thanks in advance, Adam
