Apologies, Mod, posted on wrong forum first time I'm using Don Moser's Alaska Scenery, kodiak 2002, and have no problems with this as such. However, I'm trying to get AI aircraft to fly into one of the fields, Kodiak Office. I'm using FS2002. I've created an AFCAD file but the name of the field in the afd.bgl is KOFF - duplicating an air force base somewhere. How can I change the designation of the airfield in the afd.bgl, so that for example I have an airfield called 2KOF?Thanks in advance.

Most of the time I try to calculate coordinates to position bitmaps correct I get an 501 error. What to Do? It seems to me that the error mostly occur with figures abow 60. I tried to use the lat-long utility to transform N55:5:75 to figures for ground 2K, but I got an 501 error. But I could transform N55:5:60. Why.Also after making a BGL file with succes, i could not open the source file. I got an 531 error. Why?

I have a roadblock in my design and I am hoping somebody can answer some questions, which might help me move forward.I am currently working on an upgrade to my Vancouver International Airport which includes moving it so that its runways coincide with the default to accommodate the VATSIM fliers (default taxiways are not correct so will be laid out correctly as in my original design). I want to create better taxiway lines, but the existing process in AFW is very laborious and it has been suggested to me that I use the AFCAD program to display the runways and taxiways which incorporate the necessary lineage.I see the AFCAD program has different textures in the runway dialo…

I've been trying to upgrade my apron lights to GMAX+effects. However couldn't found until now a solution that I liked. Tried with two effects: A an effect as spot light to give the lamp and an effect in the ground but the solution it isn't working very well. Tried with a directional beam effect but it's even worst.I'm about to give up and go back to FS2002 solution. Does anyone has another solution?ThanksJos

Hello again...So I try Pascal's solution and I do have a result...but the texture I select, without the .bmp extension is the "Kerkira_Town_buildings" and in the main Texture folder of FS9 I have "Kerkira_Town_buildings.bmp" with the extension...The new problem that rises is the night texture... I try to have a texture by the name "Kerkira_Town_buildings_lm.bmp" in the main FS9 folder, but it doesn't work and the result is the absence of night textures and as an extended probleme no buildings with the night ground textures...may be a wrong night given name?..See you again...Sakis Vlachopoulos

Slowly but surely I am getting there however I am obviously doing something wrong. I enter the coordinates for the area that I want to work on (I actually want to add a missing road by an Airfield I have just added and add a small village)When the working map comes up my airfield is there...great. I add my road where it runs, compile. When I look in FS9 the road is nowhere near where I have put it ( at least its there which is a major step forward for me :) ) Anyone got an Idea what the heck I am doing wrongThanksPaul

I need a good Cessna Floatplane API Macro. I have not been able to find one on line. I have built quite a few floatplane base sceneries and have a good Beaver and a fair Otter api macro but would really like a common Cessna (185, 170, etc) on floats. You can check out my scenery at http://www.eagles-nest.net/rayair/If there is an a/c developer with an FSDS file that would work too.Any help appreciated.Naturally full credit to author would be given.Ray

Close....I am sure that I have read somewhere that when obtaining a Map for the background, the best height to slew to is 18,000ft, this then matches better in Ground2K for adding roads etc. Also when getting to that point you can press??? and actually look down to take the screen print. If I am being a complete dork here apologies if not...help pleaseThanks Paul

OK, I got my shape files reprojected to lat/long and took an export image to a bmp file. I can get the NW corner out of the world file that is created, but what's the formula to get the SE?the image size is 2120 x 1490 pixelsthe world file is:0.00011411777965645200-0.000114117779656453-158.20697256196321.451857221999Am I right that it is just -158.206 + (2120 * .000114)21.451 + (1490 * (-.000114)) ?scott s..

Hi All,Quick question, Seems as though FS9 is not displaying the old style alpha-channel non-miped format that is prefered for certain objects in FS2k-Sk2...Does anyone know what format or tool will allow alpha chanel with-out mip-mapping (just on/off is OK, do not need gradient)? Thanks,

Hi,I would be very grateful if someone could send me small BGLs (and the corresponding BGLComp source, if possible) to illustrate:1) the use of BiasXYZ in scenery objects2) how to place a beacon as an object in its own (not attached)I found some posts here but sometimes they refer to zip files that no longer can be accessed. If I need some patched file to use BGLComp to create these BGLs please send me a pointer to it.Many thanks in advance,Luis

Hi all,I'm soon going to start building Newcastle International Airport EGNT(beginning of July)along side my Teesside Airport EGNV scenery, and I was wondering if anyone on this forum could help with pictures. Any of these would be a great help, Terminal (from street side and Apron side), old Gillair hangers and surrounding buildings, fire station, NEW VOR, really anything. I flew from Newcastle a couple of weeks ago and took some pics, but it was 4.00am just getting light, and they havent turned out very well, I did get some when I was in departures, which where ok.ThanksStevo ;-)[email protected]

Having experimented with afcad2 !!!I first saved my original airport bgl to a new location and then did a change to the airport by adding in a missing apron and taxiway.I then tried just to save the bgl back to the original file location with the same name as fs designated. Running fs the scenery had changed but was populated all over with autogen scenery, trees, buildings on runways etc. Does this mean that you cannot simply edit a bgl file in afcad you must save it as an addon scenery each time.Any feedback appreciated

I am fairly new to scenery design and I am trying to understand where scenery is generated from. I plan to use AFCAD2 and FSSC to facilitate my sceneries. Here are my questions.Runway lights. In FSSC we select the type of runway approach lighting, what is genrating these lights in FS9, a macro from FSSC or within FS9 program. My problem is that the approach lights for my first airport are different to the FSSC options, what can I do ?Using AFCAD2 & FSSC together. Can I layer an afcad design system of runways and taxiways etc and then layer the buildings from FSSC in FS9. My problem AFCAD produces better runways etc, but has no background image import for placement, wh…

I have a question for everyone and anyone who makes scenery for FS2002 and FS9. It gets involved, so bare with me.I work as a Ramp Agent for a major US Airline. I load and unload bags primerely, but I also guide aircrafts in departure and arrival situations plus I push them back at departure and tow them around the airport when needed. When I arrive or depart in FS9 I am very sad to see my job not being represented. To me it's a major part of real world airline operation.I park at the gate and I only see a random truck. Noone to guide, no equipment, not even gate signals. My job (which I think is very important) is completely left out. This is a huge process, just to get a…

Hi gang...when calculating an inf file deg/pixel value for a newly reprojected image, I was intrigued by how close the valus for x and y came to being equal, and how similar the number was to my former m/pixel resolution from the utm projection.interesting...started me thinking.I wonder if once we reproject the utm into geographic...should the deg/pixel be equal? I read some on the web about the geographic project til I realized that this is likely more in the programing of fs than to do with the projection...it has to do with how fs understands the pixels of the image. So I wonder if anyone knows this or has done experiments.

A request was made elsewhere concerning Imagetool batch processing and help. There are examples in the FS2004_Terrain_SDK.exe that show how to use some of imagetool's internal functions. If you are interested in these functions, use the following at the DOS (Command) Prompt:C:Imagetool -h It is interesting to note the additions to the latest Imagetool over previous Imagetool versions, even though the version number didn't change. A little QA is in order!W. Sieffert

I did a search on this subject with no results so I would like to ask what is the advantage or dis-advantage in FS9 when using the scenerygeneric folder. If I compile a single scenery bgl and install it in the SceneryGeneric folder it appears to work fine. I can also make a new folder in the FS9Scenery folder and then activate it through the Library settings moving it to the bottom of the list. This also appears to work fine so again my question is what is the advantage or dis-advantage on where I place the single compiled scenery bgl? Thanks for any help I recieve on this

Hi,Elementary question, likely. User error - probably.......Just installed Bob Bernstein's Tacoma Narrows scenery - both the original, and the 2003 update....... also installed the AFCAD file for the field.I have Gerrish's trees installed, and I'm using FSGenesis mesh for the area.I am getting these weird polygon - intersecting "panels" around the field - possibly buildings ?? I've checked and dbl. checked my install - used "Addon" and opened new texture & scenery folders underneath, as usual.Any advice - guidance ??Thanks,Ron KORLhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/79698.jpg

I am using ExcludeBuilderv2 and I am trying to remove all those buildings that appear within the airport when the AutoGen slider is not off. With ExcludeBuilderV2 the only way to delete those houses on the airport is to select "ALL OBJECTS" which I dont want to do since this deletes other items that I want to stay on the airport.Any input would be appreciated.RegardsTom Jones
