Hi all, I'm making bridges with the standard VTP code - I include an example below. The problem is that there appears to be virtually no correlation between the texture ID number for an individual bridge and its actual appearance in Flight Simulator. If, for example, I make a number of bridges all with the same texture ID (e.g. 1247) they are virtually all different, some with pontoons, others without. I assumed that each individual texture ID as listed in terrain.cfg will create a specific bridge type. Is this right? Many thanks. Stupid question probably, but I have decompiled a default FS9 LWM bgl, did some changes to a particular cell, and want to recompile. I cannot use BGLC from FS02 cause FS9 LWM contains new code...so what should I use to get my BGL!!?ThanksStorm

Hello,In creating my new Lake district scenery, I'm wanting to remove the flatten areas for default lakes. Some of the default Lakes were at a completely different altitude to the new lakes inserted. This has had the effect of leaving remnants of the old terrain at the altitude of the old lake. Evening all,I've now began work on my English Lake District (south) project. Well, at least I'm trying to align my map correctly in ground2k4.I use a grid reference -> lat/long coverter to place the northwest and southeast points correctly on the map. My problem is with map rotation. Because my new map has a much larger east-west coverage than my old projects, there's a large variation in the true north deviations on the map.For example, the western section of the map has a deviation between grid north and true north of 1.02 degrees. I am using FSDS to design an airfield for fs2004. The airfield contains a lot of little identical buildings, sometimes in rows of 10 or more. It's getting to the point that my relatively high performance computer is starting to stutter under the load. What is the best way to draw all these little buildings?These structures are currently textured. I assume that it would help to remove the texture. Or does fs2004 do this automatically? Is there a way to create less detailed versions of the structures for distance shots? Well I know I am new to scenery design but something has happened that has got me absolutely baffled. Built my airfield using FS Architecht, PolyB and Afcad for start points and parking. Put some hangers in built in Gmax and a few planes as statics also built in Gmax. Finally all came together and now needs some tweeking to add some more buildings and fences etc....but wait...whats that, there's a red jeep in the middle of the airfield, okay do a restart, try starting from the apron...it's gone. Start again, it's back.I have not got a clue where it has come from and how the heck it is getting into the scenery (it's a bit like who throws the carrots in when you pewk) I hav…

Got a bit of an odd situation here. I have been putting together a small airfied using FSArchitect. I wanted to create a small shale taxiway and using PSP7 came up with what I thought was the ideal solution. Using imagetool I created mipmaps then format DTX1 and saved as a bmp. When I use this in Gmax for textures it works fine, however for this taxiway all I got was a white line. I then tried again but this time created an r.8 file, same result.Anyone got amy solutions or ideas on this, it seems very odd that it does not want to recognise either of the textures despite both being in recognised formatsThanksPaul

Hi Holger, Ryan and Y'all,I tried one more time to put a centerpoint irrigation circle within a square. Here's what I did:1. Drew a VTP2 square, texture 041 (hot and mild grasses and shrubs), Layer 152. Saved and compiled the square. 3. Drew a circle within the square, texture 010 (irrigated grassland), Layer 164. Saved and recompiled.5. Drew another square, texture 041, Layer 156. Saved the square, no recompile7. Drew a circle within the square, texture 128 (grass), Layer 168. Saved circle and recompiled.9. Hello Everyone,I am trying to edit a BGL file to remove roads and streams in LOD13 areas in a cell. For the roads, all areas in rows 30 and 31 of cell 146 x 128 can be deleted. However, I can't determine the rows and lines in the BGS file, what to delete from the file to remove rows 30 and 31. I don't want to delete the entire cell. Hi all, I am back again after a short ( hmmm 4 month? ) break.I have two questions about XML and AFD. I was searching for the answers before my break and some of those problems may have been solved while I was away.So here they are:First question:While testing AFCAD, I developed a method how to force ATC to use crossing and non paraler runway by adding a kind of "runway star" that wides the angle of runways assumed paraler by AI. I would like to add some of the missing roads and stuff from around the area I live in. Is there a utility which allows their creation and 'blends' them in. I have found that if they are created from within most sources FSA/AFW etc they tend to have very sharply defined edges.ThanksPaul

Hello, I've added some pictures of my Teesside airport scenery at www.fs9world.741.com This is the first time I've put all my models together to see what it looks like in the sim. I'm working on scenery for CYCD, Nanaimo airport in BC. I've noticed that when I pan arround my airport, the textures dont seem to stay in memory, but are constantly being reloaded from the hard drive, which causes the sim to stutter and pause. I've seen other sceneries that don't do this. I'm building the airport using FSDS 2.4 and FSSC 1.511 (I think). All of my textures are 512 x 512, 8 bit color. Does anyone know if it's possible to do something to tell the sim to keep the textures in memory?ThanksPS. I'm designing the Valdez marine terminal and terminal area in EOD (terminal dock) and FSSC (all else) . So far so good. The only prob and I can't find an answer in readme/help, is how to make the dock surface landable!!!!I'm running FS2k2 and I DO have the crash detection on. There was one corner where I had to had to elevate the runway using an "elevated landable surface".So far, everything seems to work fine. There are some problems. Hi all! I just took a real world flight from Seattle to Atlanta, and as is usually the case when I fly, a desire to recreate the flight in FS has kicked in. One thing I noticed on this flight that is lacking in any scenery, are the circular fields that dot the countryside. These are interspersed with the regular rectangular fields, with some looking like segments are cut out (kind of a "Pac Man" shape).I was wondering if there were any texture replacements out there that recreate these fields. Hello All,I'm wanting to modify the landclass tiles in my Lancashire scenery with some more appropriate tiles for the area.To illustrate what I mean, I want to replace all instances of landclass tile 38 with that of landclass tile 119.Currently I'm using ground2k4 I the only way to replace these tiles is one at a time. I assume all the landclass values are stored in the .raw file rather than the .lvm file. If this is the case, would is be possible in notepad to access the .raw file and use "find and replace" to change all the required tiles?I've tried Lancdclass assistant for this job - but seem to be unable to import an existing .raw file. How can I change a runway texture, for example in an addon scenery folder which uses the default runway textures?

Can it be changed? The problem I have is that airport area (flat with no autogen) starts way too early. I would like to reduce it to place autogen there however I haven't been succesful so far.
