With gmax you can attach effects or library objects to an object.I would like to display that object depending on a condition check with IFIN, just like you can control display of gmax objects where you can just skip the DRAW_TRI commands (like described in the 'Conditional display' tip on SceneryDesign.org).However there is no code for attached objects. All there is is this:effect_crate_MasterScale_1 label BGLCODE;THIS IS MY GMAX OBJECT: MATERIAL 1,0 ; <255,255,255,255> CRATE_SIDES.BMP;;; DRAW_TRI_BEGIN 0, 8 DRAW_TRI 7, 5, 2 ; poly=2 part=1 ... DRAW_TRI 6, 9, 2 ; poly=6 part=1 DRAW_TRI_END;THESE CALLS SEEM TO BE FOR THE ATTACHED OBJE…

Good Friends Make Good DaysHey Scenic Route RoversIt seems that a fellow named Christian Stock is supposed to have written some tutorials that will clear the muddy waters that now hide the mysteries of Landclass, LWM, VTP, and nearly all things scenic. I have located some of his sceneries and they are great. I've searched this site, and several others with his name to no avail. Indeed, one of the results that I found was - (get this)- A Post by him, on a forum, where he is telling someone to search that site with his(Christian Stock's) name to locate his (Christian Stock's) tutorials. I know that he is everywhere, but I can't find him. I did, however find out where a…

Lars Hoyer has just uploaded a new library of objects for scenery design (extraobjects_v1_0.zip). It has a large collection of excellent looking, frame rate friendly cars, plus power lines, barrels and pallets. If you've been looking for cars for your scenery, this is it.

HiThis is my first try with scenery enhancment, i want to correct mo local area wich is Roskilde in Denmark. The first thing i want is to correct the coastline in "Roskilde Fjord", after reading the guide for beginners, i draw a "poly with shore" and set the LWM to LAND, but because my line forms a "horseshoe" the fjord is filled with land instead of water. So i try to set the LWM to WATER instead and it looks right, exept i have a thin line of water between the land and the coast line, can i get rid of that, or am i doing the hole thing the wrong way. Here is a screenshot of my working area in ground2k4 and the a screenshot from FS9 showing the thin line of water.

I need help changing the local variation to match my 1:250 000 map. I've been looking through the BGLCOMP SDK documentation, but the only thing I can find is how to set the variation on a particular point (NDB/VOR/Aerodrome and so on).Does anyone have any experience in setting variation over a bigger area?andIf I set the variation to eg a NDB. How big area around the NDB will be affected?Arild

Hello everybody,I thought about using my London Airports in Fs2004.From 2 airporrts I found the nav bgl's and deleted them. From Heathrow I could not find any ILS in the bgl files ( checked with a bgl decompile utility ) so I assumed it used the default ILS.I moved the position from the default ILS , but when loading the scenery no difference could be seen.Any ideas what has to be done to make it work. The Afcad 2 file I saved in teh London Airports folder. Thanks for any help.

Here in Colorado we have AWOS stations at some of the mountain passes. I would like to add these to FS9 using AFCAD but can't quite make it work. I tried adding the location as a heliport with an AWOS but that didn't seem to work. The location shows up on the GPS (unfortunately!) but no AWOS. Do I have to put a runway there to get AWOS? Is there some other way to do this to keep the field fairly hidden but get the AWOS. Thanks!David

At this point I am only aware of one document describing BGL opcodes which is BGLFP.doc of the FS2002 BGL SDK.However when I look at the BGLC.EXE or BGLC_9.EXE (of which I don't remember where I got it, but which came with a list of codes in BGLC_9_Source.htm) I noticed a lot more opcodes which aren't described anywhere. Is there a full description somewhere ?All I really need is a bit shift and a binary AND with bgl user variables. I don't really want to switch to MASM or get any more complicated than that. Thanks for your help,Matthias

And another problem:I want to add self-recorded cicada sounds to FS2004 (using effects is the only way I can think of). I had a read through previous posts. It seems straight forward enough to use existing sounds. But has anyone figured out how to add new sounds?Cheers, Christian

I have uploaded a new file today,PolyBSetup.zip in the FS2004 category, and would appreciate some feedback. It includes 2 utilities. Of general interest is Polyview, a LandClass texture catalog featuring 3 perspectives in summer season from FS2004 screen captures of each of the landclass textures. However, the main program is a utility of narrow scope called PolyB that will make VTP2 polygons from scasm files from, for example, FS Architect 2002 and FSSC, although any scasm file with a properly labeled polygon can be processed. PolyB incorporates a landclass viewer almost identical to Polyview. Both programs incorporate help files and a project format. They are totally fr…

Hi...This is my first scenery project and I'm stuck...I'd like to add 50-75 circular (2-4nm radius) restricted areas to my training area in flightsim 2004! The plan is for them to show up on the GPS so I can determine if I can use my current flightplan or if I have to do a diversion. If anyone have any idea on how to do this (and what prog/tool to use) I'd appreciate the help.Thanx,Arild

I had a bit of a play over Easter and gained the following insights:- The VTP and LWM numbers are identical to pixels! This may have been obvious, but I didn't realise this beforehand. This is why the values don't have to be more accurate, since you can't really be more accurate than a 'ground pixel' in FS2004.- Chris Wright suggested that adding 1.5 / 2 to the VTP values would match the LWM values. I found that 1.7/1.8 works quite well (more testing to be done). This suggests a pixel offset of just less than 2 of VTP compared to LWM. Indeed, I'm pretty confident now that this is a constant offset, and not caused by the 255 vs 256 effect as suggested by Rhumbaflappy. The …

I have tried to write some code to add hooks to my VTP lines yesterday. I know Edgar has written a small program, but since I use different BGLC macros and also want to fully automate the process from a GIS interface, I need the algorithm.I tried this for the start hook coordinates (point2):a = atan( (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) )x' = x1 - cos(90-a) * width/2 / 111000y' = y1 + sin(90-a) * width/2 / 111000(and swapping the +/- for point1)for the 2 end points (again) I'm swapping all +/- to set the hook into the other direction.x1/y1 x2/y2 are the two existing starting / end points.x'/y' is the new two starting points (new point 2 substitutes old point 1)111000 is my rough 1degree = 111…
