    Hi,On this subject the MS Terrain SDK docs refer to fans and stripes! I wonder if someone with experience in geometrical computation could point me out to some reading where I could get some insight on these terms.As far as I could test, FS takes convex LWM polygons OK as far as the sides of the polygons do not cross one other. On the contrary concave VTP2 do not seem correct.Kind Regards, Luis

    HiI've got a problem using BGLC.EXE. If I take the HP954180.BGL and in LWMViewer export it as source to HP954180.BGS I can of course read this sourcefile in Notepad. But I'm not able to compile it again with BGLC.EXE. I've got the two INC-files TDFHeaders.INC and TDFMacros.INC in my folder. RegardsLars

    I created a rather long object for FS2002. It was a course of gates in the sky about 14 miles long. In GMAX I laid out the gates as I wanted them and them I attached them so they formed one object. When I fly about half way through, the whole thing just disappears! Is there a size limit for objects? Its odd...I can see the whole course in the distance, but when I pass a certain point it disappears into thin air. When I go into slew mode and back up, it all reappears. But when I go forward again, it vanishes. I posted this question in another forum but the reply was beyond my level of knowledge.     Hiya All!Well I am in beta testing for my Doolittle Raid scenery for FS9.One of the beta testers asked me if it was possible to land and take off with crashes enabled.I have been using the new SDK's and noted the AttachTool document which speaks of removing crash boxes.Well I made a platform which of course adds the /NOCRASH tag.Also tagged my original flight deck no crash.Also I have detached the upper hull near the flight deck and tagged that /NOCRASH.Still if I have crash enabled.. as soon as the flight begins...   8. Hi, I'm getting along pretty good with the Crawford (99V) Airport in Western Colorado USA "modernization". I have a nunber of buildings, a reservoir and an airport pond just about ready. THe water will be no problem because its LWM and CTP stuff. However the buildings were made with Gmax and the resulting models for FS2004 have GUIDs for the objects. I understand that Windows assigns these unique GUID values which means that my copy of windows knows what they mean. Can I upload only the BGLs or do I have to send one or more XMLs that have multiple objects in them along with all of the MDLS to allow recompile by any other users.     Hi FS designers!I have redrawn an island in Ground2K4. The default was not in exactly the right place. But the problem is that after redrawing the island there is some missing land along my new coastline. My procedure has been as follows:1. Make a watermask around the island to cover the default island2. Make a new coastline choosing Poly with shore and LWM = Land /Witdh=64/Layer=323.     I have searched the forums for entries on invisible building crashes (IBC) but have found little, yet I know people elsewhere are experiencing these. I am experiencing the ICB at 4 addon airports Malta (Daniel Chircop); Incheon (Yunjin Lee); Johannesburg (Johan van Wyk); and lately at Castlegar (Vern Opperman).     All,This may sound like a loaded question but I am fairly new at this. I have searched this forum and not found out exactly what I need to know...I work with another designer who makes most of his scenery using Airport 2.60 and quite a few API macros. The problem is that most of the scenery we make is pretty hard on the framerates. With my 2.8 gig P4 when I approach the scenery I get terrible stutters and a large drop in framerate.Are there any good tricks to making this scenery more framerate friendly?     It seems that I got a bit behind, and I'm catching up with VTP lines :)I missed the discussion about hook ends on VTP lines involving at least Edgar and Dick (Edgar sent me a pm).I had a bit of a snoop yesterday, and came to the following conclusion:FS2004 default data doesn't seem to use hooks. Loading the data into TMFViewer can give the impression of hooks, but I don't think they are real. For one, the lines start from (and ends at) one edge and then go into the middle, which gives a 'hook' impression. However, looking at decompiled data itself, I couldn't really make out a hook pattern. (Then agian I only examined 5 roads or so).What is happening is that most lines ar…

    hi, i've started working with ground2k some time ago, and i'm getting addicted. It's outstanding, even if it's a little buggy:-( I'm working on a cost scenery, several kms long. My procedure is this : draw my coastline, pay attention to check land on right or left as i design it, then follow that line with exclude square, then fill all the area where the coastline passes with fill with land features. The results is that in some spot everything is ok, in some other spot i've full water ( and flatten) areas, in some other i've full water and meshed areas ( you can see elevations on it), in other i've full ground areas ( as the coastline didn't do what it has to do ).     In my never-ending quest to create sloping runways, I am now experimenting with using really flat objects to create runways.I used LWMPoly3 to create a sloping area that is "almost" smooth. I am using FSSC to create the airport. Because the "stock" runways demand a flat (non-sloping) surface, I tried using taxiways to create runways, but kept getting "tears" in the surface (even using a lot of points). I also tried painting runways on the terrain, but it was just too fuzzy at ground level.So I am experimenting with using APIs created from FSDS "runway-shaped" objects.
