Greetings All, Spooling back up after about a 5 year hiatus from simming. I'm looking for an ACARS-type device that would ideally install in the flight deck as a gauge and allow two-way text messaging with a "ground based" client. Any features above and beyond that would be gravy, but I'm primarily looking for something to allow two way text messages while flying in full screen mode. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike

Hello Simmers! Not an issue until resetting the settings on the FSX.cfg, now CTD's are coming every few loads. I have never had this issue before and no error messages come up, not even an OOM messge, just an "FSX is restarting". I am using roughly the same addons, although the recently purchased GSX is most likely posing n issue. Thank you for any help! I am fooling around with the weather lately and when you do that, you tend to look closer at everything. And right now I am again a bit annoyed by the fact that I can clearly see where the clouds end. I know there should be more clouds in the distance but I only see the clear blue sky far, far away. The ground does a pretty good job of disappearing into the distance, but the clouds and abruptly and way too obvious. I am using OpusFSX right now and it does a great job of creating diverse 'cloudscapes' but this program is also limited to what FSX can do. Hi all , I, like many others have been flying fsx for years , but I have a problem I cannot solve , when i enter a flight ; ie EGKK-KJFK , on my flight plan it says 32 hours ???????? It should be 8-10 ? Any help would be appreciated . :( Regards , Joe Turner.

I downloaded a flight plan from Simroutes.com today to load into my PMDG B747-400x. The flight plan contained several Lat/Long legs in it and when I uploaded it into the FMC, I discovered only the first few fixes were present. The rest of the flight plan was missing. I looked the plan over several times, downloading it several times thinking there was some kind of corruption in the file but nothing turned up. So I compared the new one to other flight plans I had gotten from Simroutes.com and discovered the problem. Someone has been at work on the Simroutes.com webpage and when flight plans are recoded for PMDG they are created using a homegrown app by Simroutes.com wh…

...there is just one thing I'm not happy with: Lights. For the aircraft I'm using 3D Lights and they are almost perfect, but those from airports...they look flat and not very realistic. I would like to get something like this: How do I do it? Maybe with ENB? I'm using some amazing ENB config i found on the net but I don't know how to get the bloom of those lights. I'm trying the stop ATC from saying maintain zero until established. Can someone help me change the approach instructions with ADEX? I can open the BGL file but can't find the approach data to change. Thanks!

First of all, I just bought the product and wow is the weather ever awsome! I'm having alot of difficulty though figuring how to use the cameras. I generally use Track IR, and everything seems fine when Track IR is active. However, during longer flights and just in general I like to take off my Track IR hat and use the hat switch. But when track IR becomes inactive, the view is usually sideways (because it followed the hat being taken off). I am unable to go to my default view by pressing the buttons I have assigned and resume panning as normal. I have a Pilot View set up as default and a joystick button assigned to it. Hi all. I've just got a new computer and hopefully it can handle FSX at acceptable framerates so I think I'm ready to get FSX. I have had a look at Microsoft website and saw FSX has 2 versions, Standard and Deluxe. Do both of these versions compatible with all FSX addons? I remember there also Service Packs (1 or 2?) and Acceleration Pack (or something like that). So which one should I get and what is the right way to install FSX with the latest updates? I've tried to search google but my English is not so good so I don't came up with the information I needed. Thanks!

Is it possible to increase the draw distance of the autogen buildings and trees. I've tried all the scenery sliders up and down but the distance at which I get autogen to update scenery remain at around the 10 -15 miles mark. I've just got my system running pretty good with dx10 (thanks to Paul J) and the only thing that is making that little less realistic is the fact that i'm getting scenery appearing too close to me ,I would like it to start appearing much further away rgds

For some reason my roads look awful on FSX, especially on hills, it looks like the cars are driving directly on terrain. A couple of examples: I'm using megasceneryx socal and http://www.flightsim...xtures-for-fsx/ however they look just the same even with a default install. All my settings tend to be on the high side, so I'm not sure why they'd displaying like this.

I have been running as an FSX Tower Controller along with The Traffic Toolbox. Everything works fine. Is there any way to change the Airport Information panel to read GMT time and not local time? All AI flights are based on GMT time. I'd sure like to be able to change it. Where are all the various panels defined? I did a search and could not find anything on the panels. Regards, Bob.

Hi all After several days of trying to Solve this issue, I hope that someone in here Can help. When ever a flightplan is loaded in fsx all ai traffic is practically sunck half way down the pavements at the airports, some even flying at a low altitude up side Down untill it hits a terminal building. Some others ai aircrafts is more just jumping up and down. This started happening a fem days ago, after no charges what so ever, and persist to happen with UT2 installed, at every airport addon, as Well as fsx default, with a complete uninstallation af FSX and all its components and files, and with only FSX installed no ad ons nor even UT2. Hi guys Quick query. When I park up and power off everything, including battery and avionics, if I come back later (say an hour or two) I find the battery has no power, or at least, nothing happens when I flick the swicth. Obvously then I can't start the engine. Am I overlooking something obvious that drains the battery or is there a bug in the sim? By the way, this happens in any plane I use. I know this has been asked before and answered a million times somewhere or the other. I searched a bit and the ones I found is not clear enough. I understand that the RXPGNS,ini file has a list of GNS530_xxxx = parameter list that I need to map to But can anyone give a sample. ! push button say, Direct to and a rotary knob function. All the the things that need to be setup. I knew this a while ago..but I can't recall now. Both in the expgns,ini file and then within the FSUIPC...what do I do? According to manual, FSX and Opusfsx along with simconnect and FSUIPC must be installed on Server and Client. Is this set to change? or am I not understanding?

I went to Earth Simulations and Bought their "Treeescpates" for the UK VFR Scenery 1 (South UK). They sent me an e-mail with a link for download. I clicked on it and it and downloaded a file "ESI-Setup.exe" of size 5.83MB?? And when I dbl clicked on it it did squat.,.and the autogens are not installed. No instructions on how their convoluted install process works in their e-mail either. Any ideas how their convoluted process works? Manny

I posted the following on the opus forums already but I thought I'd post it here too so maybe I'll get help quicker :-) Anyway: With Ezdok I can move left,right backwards and forwards using the up,down,left and right arrows no problem and it all works nice and smooth also with trackir. With opus tho it works only if track ir does not get the signal (red lights). if the lights are green it does not work and it looks like the commands are somehow blocked. Hi all. It's been a few years (2009, I think) since I last flew in FSX and am just getting it all set up again. First of all, I am not a hardcore simmer. No flight I fly will last more than an hour, I will use basic autopilot settings (heading, altitude and vertical speed - very rarely full landing and autothrottle), any addon flight computers will not be used. I spend a lot of time outside of the plane, looking around so high quality exterior models and textures are a necessity. A wide variety of textures (preferably included or with an autoinstaller, I hate downloading and installing one by one via config file). Basically a "default aircraft" level of difficulty …

I installed FS Global 2010 in MSX. I have previously no other add on scenery software to my knowlege installed. On start up of FSX I receive this error message: scenery.cfg invalid remote scenery path in area.122 I have looked everywhere for an area.122 and cannot find. I have go into the scenery library where I do find a scenery file with a 122 designation but when I try to delete it denies me permission stating file is necessary for FSX. I have spend 3 days looking for this I am at a total loss. Windows 7 home edition, dual core 2.4MHz, 160GB HD and 160GB SSD. Would appreciate any help. Mike mdcoats [email protected]
