Anyone know how to stop the default flight and go directly to the free flight screen without a default flight?

I have recently re-installed my FSX deluxe edition from the 2 dvd discs. Now 2 things are happening that never happened the last time i had in installed: 1. Each time i put disc 1 in my dvd drive, it seems to want to 'repair' files or uninstall the program. This never happened when i first installed in several months ago 2. When i do get FSX up and running i can only play for a certain amount of time before i get a message saying the demo has finished ?? I have looked on google and it seems i have to activate FSX but how do i do this ?. There is a program on disc 1 titled activate.exe but this will not open. Please can someone help me ? Thanks

Hello Members, I was wondering if someone knows where I can find the POSKY bug fix file for the Air Force One 747 model which shows a twisted landing gear in FSX (SP2)? The thing is that someone told me that the fix was located in the Project OpenSky website but the website has since been taken offline by the FSPro team. Given the current situation, does anyone knows where these fix files are located? I appreciate any help on this matter!

Before I go any further in getting my FSX reinstalled since reinstalling Windows... I used to have FSX installed in "E:\Flight Simulator X". With this new installation, I didn't notice the "Microsoft" in the directory name, so now it's installed in "E:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X". Now, to put this in context, after installing FSX and Acceleration and various payware addons (for the various registry entries and such), my intent is to copy my FSX backup over top of everything to restore my full FSX setup. (My standard procedure with FS9, at least...) Does it make any real difference if the directory name is different once I copy the backup files over? Or do…

All, I've freshly reinstalled FSX, used Word Not Allowed's tweaks, OO Defragged my FSX drive as per NN's guide. I've set my fps to 30 from within FSX which I'm able to achieve - mostly using windowed mode. When I switch to fullscreen, my frames reduce to 15-18. Not a problem in itself, except its noticeable. I've not had this problem before with previous installations. I was always able to keep 30fps. I'm wondering whether there is something in Nvidia Inspector that could make the difference. I'm running a 4Ghz 950 i7 with 4GB RAM and have a 460 GTX Nvidia card with the latest driver. Any thoughts? thanks eric

I have been getting a weird effect under the Feelthere ERJ lately (see pic). Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't, I believe its tied to the weather when beginning a flight. Thanks,

Just wondering if anyone is using an Ipad while flying for different things, i.e. charts, and what apps are you running? I've seen other threads mention this, but I think it would be great if we could have an fmc on the ipad that feeds information directly into the sim. PMDG?

I was at a friend of mine who bought OpusFSX for live weather and trying to get me on board as well, the first thing I noticed was the VC zoom using the space bar and mouse was not smooth anymore. Well after some fiddling with options and using grep (for searching inside cfg files) I was able to figure out that every time OpusFSX is launched it updates the cameras.cfg file located next to the fsx.cfg and overwrites the Virtual Cockpit camera definition changing the SmoothZoomTime parameter from 2.0 to 0.0 which leads to no zoom smoothing in the VC. My question: as the title says - when I am in VC view and have Dynamic Head Movement on, the view locks at a certain seat height. When DHM is off, I can of course adjust my seat height by pressing SHIFT-ENTER. This will raise my seat. What would I adjust in the PMDG 737 (for example) settings (in panel.cfg? or aircraft.cfg?) to make my seat position higher (with DHM on)? I thought I saw the answer to this the other da…

I wanted to put this info out there as hopefully being useful but also to pose a few questions i've run into. I've been working on a rebuild of my fsx rig from the ground up for Windows 8 x64 Pro RTM and i've done some benchmarking (yet again) and run into a few things, though mostly its going ok. My rig consists of 3, 24" screens, for a max res of 5760x1200 with ati's eyefinity.. I run an ati 5850 1GB card and an i7 2600K with 16GB of memory (ddr3 1600). I've got a wide variety of addons i'm testing, but the base core consists of UTX, GEX 1.09, REX (4096), Orbx PNW, with some plane addons too. (I like to test in the C90B king, as it uses more fps than other VC's).…

I've recently purchased the Opus Fsx software. I have a few concerns. I have a well built pc with Intel I7 oc 4.4 16 ram gtx 670. How come when running the software my frames per second drop to an all time low 10 frames per second. Is there an answer for this? Additional information is I'm running Rex Essentials for the textures. Could TrackIr5 have any impact in the fps using the Opus weather engine? This seems to best a wonderful program and I'm just trying to utilize it to its best potential. Thanks for the help. Justin

How would I set up Active Sky to be the weather engine and REX to ONLY do the textures. Also is there a weather influenced function in REX? Thanks!

hey guys, all of a sudden im getting crazy low fps for no reason, beafore e.g. at gatwick uk2000 ut2 traffic 80% tweaked cfg and the ngx aswell as rex, gex, utx i was getting 20-25 fps on the ground but now im getting 14-15 fps all of a sudden and its feels lilke a big deal as 20-25 fps was great for fsx. please could somebody help me, many thanks bilal. ps: my system is 15 2500k 4.2ghz, hd 6870, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, win 7 64bit.

Hi All, Just a question/poll to fellow Ultimate Traffic 2 Users out there. In days gone by when I was using the original Ultimate Traffic in FS9 I replaced all my AI models with those available from AI Aardvark, TFS, DJC and others to get my AI looking the best I could. Now that I have fully migrated over to FSX and am starting to set up UT2 beyond the default install I thought I'd ask my fellow flight simmers what models they like to use in UT2? does the aerotexas fuel calculator show the fuel reserves? cause I didnt see it on there. Or is it even really important to bother putting in your fuel reserves?

It's on sale, I'm tempted :rolleyes: . The only thing that keeps me on the fence is that I got the Bronco X which is a little lacking on the instrumentation clarity side. The OV10 dashboard is, on my computer at least, graphically more akin to a FS9 aircraft than to a FSX one (A2A's for instance) . Its resolution is doing some real disservice to an otherwise nice offering. Of course all the Huey promotional pictures are superb but what about the real thing ? Can you read the dials/gauges reasonably well without zooming ?
