hi all, new here, I have a question, I want remove/delete/cancel or whatever, the default roads from default world of fsx. After reading this http://forum.avsim.net/topic/75190-can-fsx-roads-be-removed/ seems all of you are smart with html code.....but im not ....what mean "comment out" in the terrain.cfg??? I tried eliminate some line in the roads entries, it works, but I have houses and trees in all airports and boundary airports disappears too.I bet if I "comment out" those entries I can eliminate roads, but I dont know how. G'day guys, For some strange reason, my FSX is stuck loading at 0%. This only started happening yesterday. My PC specs should be on the side there. Do you guys have any ideas. Eventually it will continue loading, but it takes a while. Never seen this happen before. Cheers, Ollie

I dont know if this is an AFCAD issue or something else. So far it has only happened at KPHX with the Wilco Airbus A319/20/21. I use FS Dreamteam GSX and this happens towards the end of pushback when the engines are being started. If anyone has a solution to this bizarre problem please let me know. Thank you.

I've seen this before but now forgotten, and couldn't find this after searching here. On some models of aircraft in FSX, the Roll mode is activated when the AP is engaged, and remains so until the AP is turned off. I recall there is a setting available for the "Autopilot" section of the aircraft.cfg file that will enable the roll mode to be used manually in flight while the ALT mode is being commanded from the AP. Does anyone know what this string is that needs to be inserted into the .cfg file to achieve this? Thanks, Bruce.

I'm thinking of jumping on the RealityXP bandwagon but I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Right now I have my keypad NUM keys mapped to FS default GPS functions so I can quickly and efficiently manage the menus. Using the letter keys on the keyboard I can also type out airport codes etc etc. With Reality XP, will I still be able to navigate the menu's and type codes with the FS standard keymappings, much like the default GPS, or are we limited to using clickspots with the mouse?

I have noticed this over the years that sometimes the ground in FSX seems to jerk erratically when the aircraft is on the ground. Does anyone know why this happens? It comes and goes but it's annoying when it happens.

Hi all. I'm putting together a FDE, and was wondering which parameters in the aircraft.cfg (or even the .air file) control the positioning of the nosewheel on the taxiway 'T' at the gate. The flight dynamics work pretty well, but on loading, the plane's nosewheel is about 10-15 feet in front of the T rather than on it. I've tried adjusting all sorts of things, including the reference datum, CoG - even the horizontal wing position, and nothing affects the plane's position when it loads. Logically I'd have thought that it must be connected to where the reference datum is, but changing it makes no difference. Not a big issue I guess, but I occasionally have to slew the p…

Hi all I have just reinstalled FSX and am reasonably happy with everything. Decent frames and stable install for the most part. I'm using Word Not Allowed's tweaks and have also installed the ENB module which is great! However, I am experiencing black tile flashes with scenery as well as black vertical tearing of scenery, especially when panning. Does anyone know what this could be attributed to? I have a GTX460 Nvidia card with the latest driver, a 950 i7 @ 4Ghz, and 4 Ghz RAM. Help appreciated eric

Hi guys, I am experiencing a strange problem with my FSX. During touchdowns the game hangs for just one second. It occurs only during touchdowns, it is the moment when the tires hit the tarmac. I was wondering if someone knows about this issue and what could be the cause of it. My add-ons: -UTX -GEX Europe -Flytampa Hong Kong -Some airport sceneries -Ultimate traffic 2 The one-second-lag occurs on every airport, even the default ones. Thanks in advance.

Is there anyway you can fiddle around with the strength of the fsx light bloom feature, ie make it less noticeable

Both of these seem to be very interesting beasts. I see the C-130X is a much older product and as such, I'm guessing is the inferior product. Is there one plane that is much better than the other? Which one has the most bells and whistles to tinker with? Which one has more atmosphere or character?

Hey guys, I did complete reinstall of both Windows 7 and FSX, to get rid of all the rubbish that was making everything inside slow. Now, with a rather clean computer I am reinstalling everything. My one rule is very simple: don't install anything of which you are sure you won't fly anyway. This means I'm not installing 75% of my sceneries, and also much of my airplanes will stay in the hangar for now. However, I do have a dilemma now. I really like doing cargo hauls from time to time, but I don't need a multitude of cargo aircraft. At the moment, I have the PMDG MD-11 and LDS767 to do cargo hauls for me. Hello Everyone, I am wondering that despite of having an High end computer my FSX with addons does not perform well.. I get about 10-15 FPS with PMDG 74X ( High end Airport(EGLL) , REX, UT Night Env,AI-80%[even with 10% doesn't make much difference])..Makes me sad I cannot enjoy FSX to the fullest..I have used all the needed tweaks in FSX cfg still i don't see any big change.. I continue to struggle with understanding how to overcome the challenges associated with the use of 2D panels in a 3 monitor spanned configuration. Most of us having this setup can relate to the need to have to edit panel.cfg files in order to hopefully eliminate the missing panel, hyper active blinking, always thinking, performance busting" cursor. My screen resolution is 6032x1080. Although the fix in most parts resolves the basic issue, it still isn't very convenient. I respect that there will always be a need for manual panel.cfg editing, this can be challenging for those with lots of aircraft, and there is still a possibility of overlooking an entry resulting in …

If you turn on random failures for "All Systems", how often will you get a random failure? If im doing several flights a day, what are the odds that im going to get a failure. I know in real life its not very often that pilots get failures. Hopefully I can get an answer before this topic gets moved. thanks guys.

Hi guys, I have a question? What will happen if i redo my fsx.cfg file? Will i loose all of my addons? I have done a boo boo when unistalling REX (I did not revert my FSX back to default textures before uninstalling REX), now I have REX textures all the time. For some reason REX was sapping my frame rates so that is why I unistalled it. Now I have been told that I need to redo my fsx.cfg file but am not sure of what it will do with all of my addons? Hello! I have created a blog with ground textures compiled with SBuilder, but using daytime images from VirtualEarth Sattelite and Yahoo Maps. I can't find their EULA anywhere. It was compiled all by me. The pictures were taken in my sim. Is it still OK to post to AVSIM? Thanks|! -Dmac10121

im looking for advice on setting up my new controllers ive just got the saitek proflight system (throttles, yoke and rudders) however when i adjust the sensitivity sliders in fsx the controlls seem either over responsive or under responsive im having a hard time finding the right setting flying mostly pmdg ngx and qw avro rj any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah, many addon airports are very, very nice but for those that have bought or seen a lot of addon airports, which specific airports do you consider the absolute cream of the crop in tiny-est details, impressive textures, jam packed busy with objects/people/trucks/cars/dogs/underwear/things, animations, lighting, sounds, atmosphere, etc? BTW, doesn't have to be a huge city airport, could just be a grass runway type that made your jaw drop.

Yesterday I was helping a local simmer set up a new FSX machine that I helped him put together. While tuning FSX I remembered a procedure that will dial down vehicle traffic speeds to realistic speeds. Many have been set to 115 mph or thereabouts by MS. Years ago, after experimentation and testing I had decided that the default speed should be 30 mph (50 Km) as it best reflects urban street conditions. To see cars and trucks whip around 90 degree corners faster than that ruins the immersion effect for me. In fact 30mph looks great everywhere. Airport vehicles should be 15-20 mph, not 85mph like I saw a forklift race by at. It will take a wee bit of time to change …
