I'm probably late to the dance here, but I just noticed my boxed edition of FSX, installed 2 years ago, is labeled Steam Edition on the home page. I don't remember anything about that. But then again, I'm not sure I remember yesterday 🙂

I downloaded a free AI Traffic .zip, and when I unzipped it there were only three text files in there. Do I need to compile these into a .bgl file or what do I do with them? Thanks!

Title says it all. I'm looking for the best looking, current and up to date mesh for North America/USA. I should add, I would prefer something that's not going to just destroy my frame rate hahaha. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks

Hi All, I asked a couple of years ago if anyone has the old ASI mod that changes the indicator in the lotus l-39 from KPH to KTS - first, does anyone have it? Second, and assuming not, does anyone have any tips for me if I was thinking of creating one myself? Thanks, James

When the aircraft is cruising straight and level the PFD indicates a pitch angle of about 3 degrees or so, especially when zipping along at M0.84 at 30000 feet (just under the red zone on the ASI): She'll not get much more nose level I think! So far so good: I believe that between 2 and 5 degrees is a normal pitch attitude for level flight in the real world.. HOWEVER, and this is where I am puzzled... When I check the stab trim indicator it's showing just over 6 degrees ANU (aircraft nose up). This is with the C of G at about 26% (any more and it triggers the c of g limit warning). I have been using JARDesign Airbus A320 and A330 on X-Plane and have been flying them with a game pad just like i do with the other tubeliners, like FlightFactor 777, PMDG 737, PMDG 777, and so forth. But the only plane I'm having a hard time with is Aerosoft Airbus series. The throttle behaves differently and I know its recommended to fly this plane with a dedicated throttle. However that leaves us casual flyers out, which is a shame, because I can perfectly fly airbuses on X-Plane with my gamepad and the throttle behaves fine with my gamepad. Is there any way to configure the throttle on aerosoft's airbuses to work with an xbox 360 controller? I've tried ass…

Hi all. I purchased Carenado's DA62 G1000 with Synthetic Vision. I took off from Deervalley Airport in Phoenix AZ (KDVT) and got up to FL5400 which is the starting elevation for runway 7L transition. Set the G1000 for a flight plan back to KDVT. Selected procedures, approach, then loaded GPS RNAV for runway 7R, which has a transition starting at BANYO (approx. 6m north of the airport). I checked at flightaware.com and this is a correct plate for this runway. Once near BANYO, I activated the procedure, then selected ANAV on the AP and the DA62 pulled right in and followed the transition all the way around until it lined up with the runway and here's where the problem is. Hello! My problem is, that after takeoff and after aprox. 15minutes flight the airspeed drops to 0kn. The plane comes into stall and then crashes down. This problem occurs with any plane I did not make any changes recently in fsx. Has anyone a hint for me? Thanks! Thorsten

Hi all - new member here so sorry if this is in the wrong place etc. I was wondering - as someone learning on a C152, would you guys recommend I install the A2A or the Justflight? From what I've heard, the A2A is significantly morea accurate but the JF seems pretty good too (and it's the right aircraft...). Then again the C152 is similar to the 172... Just wanted your opinions re his matter. Thanks!

Hi All, I downloaded the 777-200ER ultimate pack for FSX-SE from rikooooo the other day. Everything is working great and after a bit of trouble initially, I managed to get the FMC working like a charm. My only issue now is that I'm getting no messages on the EICAS. I have Engine data, Flap and Gear status, Temps, Fuel but no messages, cautions or warnings in the top right quadrant of the display. This applies to the VC as well as the 2D Panel. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

So to start off this thread I have tried multiple times from various long haul flights to try and fly the pmdg 777 into toronto pearson with only the Ray smiths Addon airport installed, I have a VAS monitor and look at it each time I try and go in, sometimes I am even looking at it when the OOM error occurs, the max the VAS monitor ever said it got to was 3.5 gb of vas usage, and the one this morning was at 3GB of VAS usage when the OOM occurred, so I've got to ask what is going on(I have a 64 bit windows and 16GB of RAM by the way). the VAS monitor I use is Process Explorer 64. Hi all - back around V 1.4 or so, I used to be able to select Skyvector World VFR and have a moving map over a real sectional chart. Somewhere this functionality stopped working. A map selection of Skyvector World VFR gives you a screen full of hourglasses. Does anyone know if this can be made to work again? Thanks...Bob.

I know its just something simple but Im stumped. After a long reinstall week of windows and fsx-se all of a sudden Controls are acting weird. scenario 1 FSX-SE settings/ controls / Enabled controllers box is TICKED..../ control axis TICKED.....the plane is all over the place and only responds to some yoke inputs Scenario 2 Enable controllers UNTICKED...flys like a dream except of course I cant use the rest of the settings eg panning, trims, flaps or anything else etc etc etc Whats that all about?

Hi, ive recently installed REX 4 texture direct into my FSX, it all seems to have installed ok, the textures are all appearing in my correct fsx texture folder etc. So I create a theme within REX, save it and install it into FSX, that all seems fine. The question I have is when I open current weather---weather themes in the FSX free flight menu I dont see REX in the list. All I have is the default options such as Clear skies, Building storms, cold fronts, fair weather etc etc. I do have however, my ORBX weather themes listed and I was expecting to see the REX themes listed similarly. I mean if I were to create say 10 REX themes how can I choose which one to lau…

I'm revisiting my old Goose Dynamics air file and config package for an updated re-upload, correcting some long-standing issues with it. Wondering if I can get some help with a recent sound bug I've encountered. The issue being one of the engines instantly sounds as though it's at highest power setting after un-pausing, switching back to the cockpit view after an external view, or when starting the first engine on the ground. The engine doesn't actually jump to high power when this occurs, it only sounds like it does. Have been thinking about buying a ground services add on to liven up my airports and I was tempted to go for GSX but just watched a video on AES. They both look pretty good but am looking for one that has minmum performance impact and I remember reading on the forums some people have problems with the Couatl program that comes with GSX. Has anyone used both of these programs and if so which one would you recommend I use both FSX boxed and Steam Edition on two different machines. Kind regards Daz

I'm sorry if this a daft question, but (in FSX settings) what exactly does 'unlimited framerate' mean? I had assumed it meant that the system would be left decide how many frames it could handle, according to the demands being placed on it at any given time, rather than me locking the frame rate. Is that right, or (with a modest rig) am I better to set a limit?

Ladies gents a friend and I have being modeling a new vehicle for a while now, we are not pros at this by any means and somewhat new to FSX scene. However we are interested in pursuing this model to help us with an edu nonprofit. Wondering if anyone would be willing to help us on this project to square away some annoying little issues? We called this the Seraphim and we have been building it with both the up coming SpacePort FSX mod and traditional FSX in mind. Hello Everyone. I have been flying FSX for many years and found that Win 10 doesn't like it too much. I am now working with FSX Steam and it is much faster, EXCEPT when you go to simulation rates above 4. Then, it bounces all over the place. I have been looking here in the forum for someone with the same answer and maybe it's me, but I can't find an answer here. I would be extremely pleased if someone could answer that question. Last night I was flying the Texas Bikini Team to Destin Florida (KVPS) for a competition (my mind is strange but beautiful place). It was WAY IFR, like super foggy. No problem though we are in a ILS equipped plane and other than the fog the weather is not bad. So I dial the ILS-W runway 19 approach the autopilot flies it just fine. The aircraft gently glides down, locked onto the localizer and the Glide slope, then at about 500 feet AGL, well short of the runway, I lose the signal of both the localizer AND the glide slope. The aircraft veers to the right, nearly crashes (since the autopilot now has nothing to follow) and I have to change my pants. Is there ever …

Greetings! I purchased the "Around the World in 80 Flights" DLC from First Class Simulations. Among the various issues I have with it, chief among them is the performance of the model. I can hardly get to 14,000 feet and maintain any sort of speed (about 80-100). How do I work the engine controls to get more performance out of those two props? Also, the autopilot is buggy sometimes, and won't maintain a solid pitch or altitude. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
