Some time ago I created some static aircraft traffic files for FSX. By this, I mean that I added some isolated parking spots to the AFD files for various airfields, and then created simple traffic files that effectively means that the aircraft are static for any times that I am likely to be there. These were all working fine, but recently I have noticed that a handful of aircraft types have "gone missing". The parking spots (and relevant codes) are still there. The aircraft folders are still there. The traffic files (linked to the relevant models) are still there. Nothing has changed, and yet these particular planes are no longer being displayed. First thread, sorry if the category is incorrect. I'm a little new to FSX. I've been trying the stock FSX 737's ILS for sometime now and I can't get it to work. I've used the ILS with the stock 747 and the CRJ700 with no problems at all. I'd write down what I do. Just so you know, vectors are given by the ATC controller at all times. I get information on the course and frequency with respect to a runway. I take off. I enable autopilot (Altitude Hold engaged, Heading hold engaged) and autothrottle (Speed Hold Engaged). I put in the frequency in the NAV1 standby and switch it to active and put NAV1's switch to active. I put in the correct course on the course s…

Is there a topic somewhere here that list all sales of FSX-addons? I am particularly interested in when FSDreamteam usually have sales. I'd like to get GSX but I've been spending too much money on FSX lately and I noticed I missed their Black Friday sale. Since these are the 'days of sales' I sort of don't dare to buy GSX right now... It would suck if I find out in a week they always have New years day sales or something like that. Usually I don't look or wait for sales but as I said, I am way over budget already...

Merry Christmas! Yesterday I got the Aerosoft Holiday Airports (includes Antalya, Kos, Monastir and Faro). They're fantastic! At the Faro and Antalya airports, there are enough WOAI traffic. But on the airport of Kos, there's no WOAI traffic. I installed all airlines that fly to Kos, but there's still no traffic.. And a weird problem on Monastir airport: there ARE woai traffic (all tunisair) but the tunisair traffic are invisible: they stand at the gates and taxi, but they're invisible. I already tried to repair tunisair traffic, but it didn't work. So here are my questions: Does everybody have (with Kos X?) that there's no WOAI traffic on Kos Airport (Ipp…

Merry Christmas (nearly). As in the title, I would like to have a go and fly a 737. But due to my pc not being the most up to date and the extra load the PMDG 737 would probably inflict, I was wondering what other good 737 simulations are available? Thanks in advance.

Hello Im doing a complete fresh reinstall and having a problems with the coast line in greece/turkey around 36° 8′ 30.01″ N, 29° 34′ 34.96″ E --- Kastelorizo Island Public Airport - LGKA Ive attached a screenshot below. The only things so far ive installed which i think may mess with the coastline around that area is 1.the updated terrain.cfg download from the avsim library 2.fsglobal 3.gex europe 4.Ultimate terrain europe. If anyone has had this problem before Id love some help. this is the only area I can find where the coast line is "corrupt" Many thanks in advance.

I received a bit of money and now i'm in the market for a new product. The two i'm looking at are the following: PMDG MD-11 CoolSky DC-9 I'm really trying to weigh out which one I will enjoy more. I'm really used to FMC navigation and the old style of the DC-9 kind of intimidates me. Any feedback or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Matt D.

Hi all, Since a few days ago I am unable to set a picked local time on locations I wanted to fly from. After settting the time I wanted to take off FSX returns the time to the local AP time(depending on Country). Have ticked System time in the General specs. Checked FSX.cfg and in the [sim] header time is ticked 1(Sys time). However setting it to zero does not make any diff. In my backed up cfg file system time is also on and had no problems until a few days ago. Running Win7 Ultimate. What have I done wrong or what can I do to rectify this problem. Thanks Richard

Don't know how many of you guys know about this head tracker, I just tried in FSX and I was amazed how well it works. The only problem is that it is a mouse tracker hence I have to press the spacebar so that the mouse can give me views. Does anyone know how to trigger and keep the mouse look in fsx ON ? Of course it does not have 6DOF but it is working perfectly well and smooth.

Hi fellow simmers. I come to you with a lil problem I've been having for ages, but none of my friends know what causes it or how to solve it. I turn to you! The problem I'm having is that my clouds tend to twitch when in outside view. They only seem to do so when they are close to the ground. Hi, I'm in the process to adjust all my panel.cfg to reduce the widht of the pop-up panel to one third of their original size so they can display correctly on a 3 screen surround system. It works generally well by reducing the size_mm first figure by two third and the gauge witdt (third figure) by two third also. For others airplane, I just add the window_size=0.3 , 1.000 line in the window definition. However, for the real air Citabria, it is not working as I tried those two approaches and the native gps pop up panel still open with a too wide window after the change. Still testing new p3d install with FsGloablUltimate+UTX+GEX. First time i am getting into scenery other default stuff. Doint the testing with p3d default T-64 texan, so i can crank up the scenery quite high, and it loks good. But i know soon as i bring in pmdg, captain sim etc, that scenery gona have to start thining out. Shame great A/c like the pMDG 747 are such FPS drag, PMDG MD11 was great for FPS, but not so much J41. I thought PMDG too finally relaised folks reluctantly purchase a/c that mean very little scenery. Just downloaded new plan G moving map v3 and i have to say it's crippling my pc like you wouldn't believe, after i start it up it hogs my pc even after i close it down the pc is unresponsive i cant even shut it down i have to switch pc off by the button and put it on again. this was the same with V2 aswell so i uninstalled it but im planning on doing a round world flight and obviously i need plan g as i have spent the last few hours planning the flight with it but it's not any good to me if its going to make my pc bog down for no reason. is anyone else having similiar issues with this as i cant really see why it would do this to the pc its not like the pc cant han…

Thought I'd let you know that there is a sale on over at www.digitalcombatsimulator.com. The DCS:A10 is currently (an absolute steal) at $16.00. It is significantly ahead of many aircraft in FSX that cost twice the price. Just a heads up...It's worth it! (also available on steam, it seems)

So, we all know each and every computer is different. We each have different components, and stuff, etc. But we all know there is a certain combination of addons to all of us that will turn your FSX into a slideshow. Even with the MOST powerful computers, the perfect combo can do the trick. Some people can run GEX, UTX, NGX, REX, ABC, DEFGHIJKLMOP... etc etc with no problems and others turn into slideshows. I am hoping this topic can give others advice on addons when it comes to FPS. FOR ME, I can run FSdreamteam JFK with Us cities New York Manhattan with the NGX at 27FPS. The biggest companies in Europe (Air france, British Airways, Lufthansa) don't have ANY 737-800 WHY ?? They have thousands of planes and no 737-800 I want to make european flights with my NGX and i can't find any nice looking livery and who goes everywhere in europe.

Hello, Can anyone help me? Earlier today, (Dec.23) I was flying with my PMDG 737-NGX. My sim crased due to a fatal error (that's normal), but when I restarted FSX and loaded a diffrent flight from Broken Hill to Sydney, at about 83% loading into it, I get a message saying "You have used up too much computer memory for FSX to use, please restart FSX and change your Scenery/Traffic/Weather." Hello every one. I just got 16 gigs of ram in my sandy bridge PC with another 16 gisgs planned for the end of the month. I want to start experementing with ram disks as I am getting 8000mb/s read and 9000mb/s write using Crystal disk mark on the ramdisk i set up yesterday. I saw on another forum how to change the FSX.CFG file and how to copy the simobjects folder to the ramdisk so im comfortable with that. I want to add the scenery file to the ramdisk as well but i do not see any command line in the CFG file that points to the location of the scenery file as it does with the simobjects file. I just came acrross Process Lasso, its sort of like a 3rd party schedular, to help overcome the scheduling short comings of windows. For example its the very first tool i have seen that does what i do in my software. When a process like FSX hugging up all resources, it reduces FSx priority, not increase it. Since i saw it do that, then i started having a play with its other 1 million make it or break it if you can options. Used to use PriAffinity for years, second day with Process Lasso, i removed PriAffinity. Its a swiss army knife for those trying to get the most out of thier PC Resources.
