I have recently reformatted my computer (C Drive) in NTFS format (nothing irregular with that as far as I'm aware with Windows Installations. I have heard that it is best to install Flight Simulator on another hard drive. I have added another hard drive to the computer (G Drive) and tried to install FSX, but encountered a problem. It says "you cannot install to the root of the drive" I have tried installing other games to see if there was a problem with the hard disk but they have gone on no problem. Consider this post for FSX newbie's, or as a reminder to do periodic FSX config file backups. If I am preaching to choir about this, then just ignore the rest of this post. I have learned the value of saving periodic backups of my "fsx.cfg" file. This has saved my rear end on multiple occasions when something has polluted my current config file. For newbie's, assuming that you are running Windows 7, click on the Start icon in lower left-hand corner, then where you see "Search programs and files" type in %appdata%. hello, yes i did it! i messed with fsx and now face the problems. yesterday i don't know why i did this but i messes with fsx's EXE.XML file and now my Ultimate Traffic Two will not start automatically :( ( tell me of if you wish ). is there any way to start it automatically. in order for ut2 to run in fsx i have to manually start the program manually then run fsx where as before all i had to do was start fsx and a little sound would say " ultimate traffic 2 initiated" or something along those lines. is there any fix to this matter. many thanks and happy holidays.

i have done some tests with opusfsx to sync between two pc's. A thing that doesnt work for me is the timesync. It's 15.52 on server pc and 00.52 on client pc (tested in copenhagen). cheers.

Hi, Before, i did not have spikes with poolsize=0 + nvidia driver 306.97 + windows 7 home edition. After, i upgraded my gpu drive to 310.7 and spikes appeared .. and i also upgraded my W7 home edition to W7 ultimate (i reinstalled C with switching custom installation), i reinstalled all drivers and gpu drive 310.7, and spikes were still there. And finally i go back to 306.97 and they are still there ! I have water at HIGH 2x and my FSX.cfg is optimized with Word Not Allowed's guide also nvidiainspector. (pre rendered frames = 1 ) Spikes appear ONLY with the NGX and rarely (very rarely) with default planes. Spikes EVEN sometimes appears without poolsize=…

Hi Don't know if this is the right forum so apologies it if is not. I am trying to get an ACARS device to connect, I am only getting a message "waiting for ACARS connection ". It says connection is via a TCP/IP port. Can anyone please advise ? Don't know it I am allowed to mention the programme here. Thanks Paul

Hi my fellow simmers i just bought Opus for fsx to give it a try using REXE + Overdrive textures . One thing i notice from making this purchase is that the program file is not that heavy correct me if am wrong but it is only 14.7MB. I have herd the best review about this product am ready to try an have some fun also take a couple of screen shoot about this upgrade. I know am not going to be disappointed with this software. Also that i learn that this is Opus latest upgrade so any minor bugs or anything like that might be fix already. So as far as FPS goes i know this software won't do any damage as far as FPS goes. Hi Recently i have found landings are much easier if you stick to theFMC landing speed. Takeoff roll is much smoother if you roll at Vr With more complex a/c like PMDG all such flight data is provided by FMC But for defualt and simpler a/c what tool is best to use for calculating these. Is Topcat the best option for this, or any other program suggestions. Not used Topcat, but if its complex wount mind something simpler. cheers

for some reason, when i bring my planes to overspeed the little "overspeed" text in the red box in th ebottom does not appear... any solutions? i dont want to uninstall and reinstall because i have a lot of payware scenery, addons, and other things on there

I have recently attained rudder pedals, and am trying them out (CH Products). The only problem I see is that they don't make too much of an impact in air. I realize this is unrealistic to do, but is it possible to turn the yaw damper completely off on some more automated aircraft, such as the A320? Just because there is no way I could complete a crosswind landing or such due to the minimal impact. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Ive been playing FSX for about a month now and I am in love with it! Im starting to understand all the different systems VFR,IFR,ILS,DME,ADF etc. First payware i got was the Carenado Cessna C208B and the cargomaster expansion and fly it loads!, I bought the QualityWings BAE/Avro 146/RJ for Christmas and its an amazing plane but as it has an FMC and is a bit more advanced i thought id better understand a few more things first. Long flights or flights that start off clear weather and VFR and end up at night or bad weather IFR, how exactly do they work? Do you change to IFR when the weather gets bad? Hello All I have the standard fsx with nothing additional installed no extra mods or aircraft or secenery or enviroments just the stock FSX. I have two brief questions about the cessna 208b caravan. 1) I love accuracy and i try to follow the checklists and procedues as much as i can. while going over the check lists on the kneepad inflight i find that i just can't seem to find the emergency power lever although twice in the checklist it asks me to adjust this. I should actually say i do know where it is but is it not implemented because i can't move it but its in the checklist so i thought maybe i'm missing something?\ 2) Again in the checklist it asks to push…

Probably an easy question for the veteran FSX folks... I've got UTX USA & Canada and I understand what that does for the most part from the manual and reading here. I also have GEX North America and I pretty much understand that, again from the manual and reading here. I have 2 questions I was hoping someone could shine some light on: 1) I have REXE+ and I notice that it has water textures, Runway textures, road textures, etc. How do those play with the GEX stuff? Does that mean that those ground textures from REX and GEX both do the same thing? Which is better to use? 2) From time to time I also see FSGlobal 2010 mentioned but I'm not quite sure…

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here can help me. It seems that I am having an issue with a specific combination of products. I have the saitek panels (all of them), the reality XP 430 and 530 WAAS, and two new addons I purchased during sales. The captainsim Buff, and C-130 pro pack. They simply don't want to work together. I removed the realityXP and replaced it with the default gps 500 and am having the same issues with that one. Is it the autopilots? My saitek panels are using the latest version of SPAD. I have registered FSUIPC. The RXP and saitek panels work well with other addons, but these two are problematic. Has anyone seen this, or know of a workaround? I…
