can someone please tell me approximetly how good FSX will run on this laptop please? its the best i could do with the price and i cant get a desktop because i travel frequently. I was flying out of Mexico City and the TAT kept climbing as I climbed. It was +33 c at FL200. I was having a hard time keeping the aircraft going up. I'm a RW air traffic controller, so every once in a while I get to ride up front in the jumpseat, and last weekend, I paid special attention to the TAT during the flights when I went down to Minneapolis. It was nice to see that, at a cruise of FL350, the TAT was around -28 to -33, which was around the amount I was getting in earlier version of OPUS at -25. I'm using version 2.70.8 and FSINN. I have disabled all weather on FSINN. Is there something else I should try? It's frustrating to have temps that high...

Hello everyone, I have a very simple question on the STAR charts. In the charts shown in the link, there are numbers like "4500-2300" above the route lines. I have circled them out. Does that mean I have to fly that section between 2300 ft to 4500 ft? I am not sure about that. Any idea is welcome. Thanks. This has happened to me from time to time and its really annoying. All of a sudden I have lost all my traffic at airports. I am using F1 UT II Traffic. I tried resetting. Ctrl-sh!ft-R and Ctrl-sh!ft-T etc and no good.. I see the UT2 running my services. I didn't do anything to to UT. It was working fine all this time.... Suddenly it decides to pull a disappearing act. How the heck do I debug this thing to see where what went wrong? Any ideas? Manny

Hi Guys I just bought and installed Kangerlussuaq X. Unfortunately I don't see any runway stribing - centreline and all other markings are lacking. Am I alone here? Regards Henrik

Hey guys, I used to love TrackIR but now I have a new desk/chair and basically it makes using TrackIR very umcomfortable - the chain is flexible so it's always moving etc and I kind've have to sit rigidly still to use it. anyway, I am quite happy using my hat switch + FS2crew in the NGX. My question is, will EzDOK enhance the "atmosphere" is the NGX any further? If so I'll probably by it...I'm not too bothered about "goto" camera angles, more for the effects. Thanks

Hi guys As well as being into aviation since I was a kid, I'm also a lorry driver and bringing with it means I'm a huge petrol head so I have one of the best controllers in the business - the Logitech G27. I haven't seen this posted so... If you are trying to fly a STAR with FSX ATC here's one way to get to fly more of it before ATC begins final vectors: 1) add the STAR waypoints directly into the flight plan as best as possible. FSX ATC will bug you if you leave the lateral flight plan you filed at the start of the flight. Many STARS can be predicted before you take off. 2) at the TD (top of descent) is where FSX ATC usually takes over and begins to assign you vectors. This is often before you can begin your STAR. :( To delay this and get more time to fly your own descent and STAR, contact ATC and "Request Altitude Decrease (10,000)" a minute or less before …

Hello folks, That FSX is quite unstable, is what everyboday knows. However, the situation in the screenshot is just too annoying. Whenever FSX has a heavy load and I switch to outside view, all light bulbs, go into black squares. And when I switch back to the VC, the textures are gone. Waiting for a minute or two solves the problem, but it is just too much annoying. I have tried to get a new fsx.cfg but did not help much. Is there anyway around? Thanks. Black screen after alt tab out of FSX or go in to settings from a loaded flight. I tried everything like alt +enter, task manager, switch to task, close explorer, go out to blue screen and back. I have the latest drivers, bios for every hardware on my computer. I'm connected to my TV through HMDI can that be the problem? Hi Just updated to the latest version but keep getting a config. error message " The installation folder is undefined ". Tried a reinstall again but get the same message. Help please ?? Think I have sorted it, for some reason the installation folder location had changed itself.

If you've ever been to the Central Valley in California, you'll know that most of it is wide, green farmlands. However, in FSX, it seems to have an excessive amount of shrublands and generally tan-colored expanses. Are there any freeware or payware scenery packages that add a bit more realism to the area? (I know that there's always BlueSkyScenery and MegaScenery, but I don't like the lack of autogen in those projects) Thanks, Bram Osterhout

What is the difference between planes that have a moving ASI and fixed? For example I'm looking at the barber pole on the Carenado BE20. It's around 290 at sea level (guessing from their pics). At around 15,000 it's down to about 240 kias. In the Turbine Duke that one always sticks at 198 (I believe 198 is VNE - or is it VMO?) How does this work since their both Turboprops? Does it depend on powerplant?

Not sure why I was thinking about this, but it came into my mind, wondering how big is the flight simming community worldwide. Its said that it is a small market niche, but how small is small? Probably thinking this for the releases that come up and the difficulty they have to accomplish to break even. I am stumped and hoping someone has seen and solved this problem. I have re-installed the operating system and FSX (using Nick's guide) twice. FSX default works fine including simconnect between a client and server. However, payware aircraft do not communicate with FSX. PMDG, Aivlasoft, F1 Mustang and EZDOK do not work. The Mustang attempts to load then displays an error message 'Network Error Simconnect Blocked'. The plane loads but the VC is not visible and no control in the 2d mode. The J41 loads but cannot move throttles and displays are blank. Aivalasoft EFB will not connect to FSX. I have removed a audio card, change video drivers and tried different LAN a…

Hello, I just spent some three hours the forumthread on sweetfx and installing (if you can cann call it that) this little tool. But for some dark reason it will not work. I am running FSX in Dx9 mode on windows 7 64bit. A few GA light aircraft of Carenado and the complete set of the sceneries of ORBX. When I stumbled on this little tool, i downloaded it to my harddisk, read the included readme file and copied the whole bunch to my FSX directory. Afterwards I checked that all files were present and in the location they were supposed to be. Hello all I am contemplating the purchase of REX essentials + OD since I have been reading such great reviews about it on these forums. Since I already have ASE2012 for textures and I am using OpusFSX for weather, FSBuild and Vroute premium for flight planning, for me it seems like a waste of money for another add-on I probably don't need right! So I was just wondering what advice this great community can offer? Also wondering for those using REX essentials for flight planning, is there an option to save or convert the flight plans in PLN format to RTE format for use in the PMDG 737NGX?? Your thoughts and suggestions will be much appreciated in helping me decide!

Hello everyone, I have given in and decided to format my SSD and reinstall FSX from scratch as it sometimes crashes, and also my HDD was a bit of a mess.
