Is it safe to test the integrity of the files for FSX:SE by running the Steam 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' procedure? I ask, because I've had some problems in the past running it with a few Steam games that had modifications present. I've suddenly started encountering some strange issues with FSX:SE, so I'd like to check the installed files. So I'm wondering if anyone here who's successfully run it could confirm this?

Hi everyone, after some absence from FS, I have come back, installed Perpar3dv4.5 which I don't like, which, for the obvious reason of lack of add-ons I don't like, and good old FSX. This is the one I have most experience with and tons and tons of add-ons are available. I am now looking to integrate AI traffic but even for FSX there is nowadays a lack of good payware available. I'm coming back to World of AI but their flightplans are mostly stone old. But imho there should be a possibility to install their packages and edit the flight plans and hopefully also edit aircraft. Hi i just reinstalled fsx on my computer but it won't let me cycle views; spot vc etc. It will only allow a 2d panel of the cockpit and tail view Anyone got any thoughts? Thanks

I`m asking for some advice. I recently had my computer rebuilt & upgraded to MS Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. As such, when I went re-install FSX and activate it, it activates the first 2 disks, but wont activate the acceleration pack causing FSX to operate as a trial version only. If I could get some help with this problem it be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! I downloaded the new Istanbul Airport from Avsim Library but the airport doesn't have any traffic not even a controller, it's like an abandoned airport. How can I edit this airport to make it alive? (and how can I close the old airport LTBA - Ataturk) The link of the airport

This latest update seems to be heavily Prepar3D biased. Is there any reason for FSX users to update? I've seen nothing interesting listed for FSX users.

Flying the PMDG 747-400 I establish on the ILS and use the APP button on the MCP to fly it down then at about 500ft or so a message comes up NO AUTOLAND. I'm wondering how to change this as I want the aircraft to autoflare. Out of interest flying VFR do pilots usually handle the last part of the approach manually? Cheers, Phil Bruen.

Hi all, I'm trying to get in touch with 2x people who have made various edits to the FSX default 737-800 gauges in order to ask for permission to include their work in an upcoming freeware release of my own. I've not been able to get in touch with them through the details provided on their respective readme.txt files. Their names are Gary Davies and Csaba Saghi. The plane has these two counters on the left side of the pilot. One is called Engine 1 Quartz and the other Engine 2 Quartz. What are these used for? Thank you.

Hello I'm trying to install ivap and everything is fine until it installs FSUIPC, I have this error that appears: Cannot edit dll.xml make sure you've already started fsx.... I looked in C:\Users\AugTop\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE/ the dll.xml file but nothing special to report... Thank you very much for your help

Hi All, It's been around 5 years since I've played FSX and I've got a new gaming rig and want to reinstall everything from scratch. The thing is I've forgotten how to install eveything, I had had loads of tweaks, etc. some of which aren't probably necessary now. I also have a bunch of Orbx scenery and airports that'll need installing too. My PC is a 4.00Ghz i7 6700K, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, RTX2070 GPU, 3 x 24" monitors. Can anyone point me to an install guide or offer any setup tips? TIA Daz

It has no autopilot and no Navigation radios. ------------------------- With AP added. This AP has all the normal AP switches on the right as old fashioned metal toggle switches: AP on/off BackCourse on/off, ALT on/off, etc. And Altitude and VS set knobs and digit display up on the top right. In the center bottom is the OBS guage and knob to set it, and above it the Heading gauge set by the mouse. And NAV radio on the left, along with it's IDENT switch and Avionic master switch. Have in use Ezok Camera version 1.X for years without any problems with the system eye movement functions. Then I upgraded to version 2 as I wanted to test the Prepared3D software which needs the next version of EZDOK. However the pre-programmed keys for the eye movement : up,down,forward,left and right do not work not on the keyboard nor with an assignment on the Yoystick. These eye movement are connected to the PgUp,Pgdown,left,right and up and down keys on the keyboard, as you probably know. As mentioned in another thread, I recently bought QW's 787 and must say that I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. Everything just works, visuals are great, manuals are detailed, and the thing reads FSX flight plans with no muss and fuss. The cockpit includes a handy VAS monitor right next to the PFD, so you can see whether or not your VAS is heading South (literally and/or figurativly speaking). hi.. So I bought the PMDG 747 v3 along with the -8 extension recently, however, today, I started FSX and i loaded into a flight, and everything went like normal for like 2 seconds and then whole FSX just frozen. When I hit Esc and then return back, it, again, works for 2 seconds and then FSX freezes again. This happends on the 747-400 Base Pack as well as on the -8. Please help. Every other aircraft works perfectly fine (PMDG777, 737, FSLabs a320 etc.)

Performance or frame rate wise, is there a test or easy way to check if FSX is running relatively normal? i.e. no glitch program or addon causing an unusual frame rate drop I know FSXmark07 and 11 exist but they are not realistically feasible since they require a fresh FSX install.

Hi All, I've just returned to FSX after 5 years and installed it today along with SteveFX DX10 and some Orbx addons. I've got an RTX-2070 GPU, i7 6700K 4.00Ghz processor, 16GB ram. I was flying in a stock Cessna 172SP and was only getting about 15-17 fps. I've been playing around with my fsx.cfg and maybe broke something? Any advice / tips really appreciated. Cheers Daz

Hello, I saw that captain sim aircraft for FSX:SE are on sale. The boeing 727 and 737-200 are only 35 USD. I am unsure about how good this is though. Another one I was interested in was the Q400 by majestic software. Should I wait for a sale on the q400 or buy the captain sim? I am into aircraft that are very close to real life like PMDG. Zaakit.

Dear friends, After looking everywhere without finding answer, I open this post asking for your wisdom. I have recently noted a very strange behavior in some of my planes, only props and turboprops, in FSX-SE. At the VC everything is fine, I have my FPS locked at 30 and my present rig maintains that no matter where and under what circunstances. But, when I go to any exterior view (Spot, Locked Spot, Flyby, Top, even Tower), the FPS goes down to 0.5. The sim actually freezes, I must wait a time until it obeys any command at all. Yeah, I know, the title is a bit clickbaitish.... I've been looking into the Aerosoft CRJ's to get a plane for short routes. Plane looks decent enough, but there doesn't seem to be a way to load FSX-Steam generaled flight plans. 1. The NavData cyle the CRJ ships with is "out of sync" with the default one that FSX comes with. If I generate a flight plan with FSX, convert it, via LittleNavMap, to the CRJ format, I'm, assuming I'll get a "load error" in FSX. 2. If I generate a flight plan with SimBrief, then load that converted plan into the CRJ, presumably the same thing is going to happen because the NavData cycles of SimBrief and the CRJ are different. …
