Just reinstalled the base game + PMDG 737 + FSUIPC paid version. Just trying to load a basic flight, in DX10 mode (don't have Fixer reinstalled yet) it completely locks my system. In DX9 I went to load a flight and the screen (dual monitor setup) just went black and that was it and Task Manager said it wasn't responding. Not sure what to make of this other than my FSX days might finally be over 😞

Need help ! Before I started the Add on quest I had downloaded SP 2. Ran it went from my Windows 10 general download folder thru set up...... Thought all was good. Added airport scenery design. Made a couple of airports. Now I want to get on vATSIM.... Can not get it to start up. Asked answered from another site stating I need SP2. Sher enough when I start FSX. Load up a flight, Click on Help, about FSX and SP1 Shows up. Tried a complete un install of FSX. Advanced system care 12 for some reason did not remove all FSX files. Went back to good restore point. Removed SP2 from the computer and reinstalled, ran setup and still showing SP1. Question... Am I on the right track,…

Hello Folks; Interest observation about my Affinity Mask setting. It was always set to 84 (not 14) for as long as I can remember (my rig was built in 2014) don't remember why but I known now. I have an i7-4790K Processor OC'ed to 4.4. with no Hyper Threading enabled. I decided to play around with Affinity Mask to determine if it really made a difference for me, was I surprised!!! Deleted the entire entry all together Started FSX and launched ASN 16 and immediately got an error from ASN stating that "Affinity Mask=84 is missing and the app would not work". It than automatically updated my config file with that entry and said i should restart FSX. …

After reinstalling FSX Steam, my SceneryConfigEditor v1.1.9 program doesn't work anymore. I can make changes to the scenery list but when I close the program and choose to save the changes, nothing changes. The read only box of the scenery.cfg file is unchecked. I can change the scenery.cfg file with the scenery library in FSX. The problem started indeed after the installation of the Windows 10 update. I have updated the Java program.

Hi All, Following some other FSX issues, I did a full uninstall/reinstall of FSX. All worked well until I actually started a flight. Instead of the loading bar, all I saw was a black screen and my mouse (which I could move). I left it like that for about an hour with no results. any solutions? thanks, William

Does anyone know if there is such a utility as an interactive checklist for FSX where one could enter all appropriate data from the aircraft manual and allow checking off during the process?

Hi guys, working on getting my FSX:SE install back up and running after a new computer build and I'm seeing some very weird behavior. First a bit about the environment, main monitor is a 1440p Asus GSync with a max refresh of 144Hz, secondary is a 60Hz Dell at 1080p. I mention this because last time I installed I was only using the Dell and did not notice this issue. I later added the Asus monitor and after seeing just even worse FPS on my old rig, assuming due to the higher res, I just stopped flying for a while. Hello Folks; I think this was discussed a long time ago but never took note since it really didn’t affect me at the time, and I can’t seem to find the topic. I noticed that I get static in my sounds and when it does occur it seems that there is some shutter at the same time. I think it has always been there to some extent but only now taking a careful look at the shutter issue. My sound card is integrated into my mother board which does a good job from sound prospective. The question is, will a dedicated sound card take a little stress off the CPU since it’s not an intricate part of the Motherboard? I am not looking for performance increase but …

Hi all, A quick question; what is the relationship between .air and ,cfg files when modifying an aircraft? I think I'm asking which format FSX reads data from or prioritises and what I should modify as there seems to be some duplication between the two formats. Also, while I'm here... In the aircraft config, what is the signifcance of the [headings] in the .cfg file? Could for example, all the engine settings be grouped under one [heading]? Thanks in advance, D

Would someone, please, post a turorial video on how to properly land a Rollus Cargo A400M. I watched several videos, unfortunately I was unable to make out the detailed procedures from these videos. Although I have tried many times I was unable to acheive a proper landing. Thank You.

My search ability is sub-optimal, my apologies in advance. Am I to assume that it is a feature of FSX that when a jet engine achieves light off, it does so by spiking the thrust somewhat unrealistically? I note that there are posts regarding turboprop starts causing the aircraft to lurch forward despite the parking brake being applied. I presume this also applies to the heavy iron with CF6 and GE90 power etc. except that the parking brake is more effective (thrust/weight ratio and all that..). I'm a newbie and I don't think I'm doing it right. I'm trying to do RNAV approaches into LOWI, specifically the RNAV 08 Z from the West. The charts say that you should intercept the profile at a waypoint at 13000. I descended to that level in time, got the LNAV Approach and VNAV Path and nothing happened, there was no descent, no glide path. The vnav deviation bar stayed level. Any help? I'm sure many have attempted this popular approach. Oh, and a quick follow up question: what fix should you be aiming at when selecting a regular VNAV descent in the FMC? Should you put the FAF or the last waypoint? The reason is that the VNAV has brought me in too steep a…

I hope that someone can help. Just recently and I prepare to land at my destination but all the airports I have tried only offer me visual approaches. The ILS approach frequencies are correct and work fine but only the visual approaches are given as option by the inbuilt ATC. I suspect that it may have something to do with my scenery config file but that is just a guess. I have had to make changes in the config file order due to a ORBX update. Can anybody point me in the right direction to investigate/fix?

Hi The free update I received for the Pilatus 21 (Just Flight) has a weird problem on loading. It bounces on the runway, then plants nose first in the tarmac, a crash on my FSX SE. System is W10 / i7 / Asus motherboard / gtx 970 no mods with Avast antivirus switched off. The old version works fine. Any ideas ? Thanks

Hello, running FSX (boxed) w/ all updates on a Windows 10 w/ all updates. I have all Logitech radio, autopilot and multipanel gear, along with Yoke and rudder pedals. Flying the A2A Cessna 172. Due to using fall Logitech gear, I went with SPAD several months ago and have had no issues with their software. Now, the mouse will no longer work where there are clickable areas within the cockpit, ie. opening windows/doors, opening/closing fuel shutoff valve or fuel selector switch, not able to click on lighting switches...and so on. I have not changed the cockpit view setting, using Chase plane. I have tried using different mice and plugging into different USB ports. Still no j…

It has been reported on another forum that Microsoft had ended their agreement with Steam as applies to the FSX franchise. Steam will continue to offer FSX and add-ons. Further information will be forthcoming from MS.

I am fortunate enough to have spent a lot of money on a really cutting edge PC and GPU recently. After a particulatly bad MS update experience.I felt that the only way ahead was to uninstall FSX and replace it with the next version of FSX, the gold edition. Unfortunately, my PC had told me that the reinstallation had been stopped by Error 1722 and, a few minutes later, by Error 1603. I have looked these errors up and there are fixes, but my trouble is that I find it very difficult to follow technical instructions. (its my age!). I have installed FTX Norway and also have Airports of Norway (AoN freeware), the latter being above FTX in the scenery.cfg. My question is, since FTX Norway includes vector, landclass and mesh data, is it still necessary or preferable to install the Norway Scenic X vII and the Norway Quality mesh provided at FlightsimNorway.com. Are these better at portraying Norway coastline and mesh than FTX? Thanks Stuart

I had a small problem with my boxed version of FSX/Acceleration and was reading an old post,it suggested removing all files in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX\SceneryIndexes, and FSX would build another one, anyway it didn't so I put the files back (379 DAT files) now fsx is really screwed up.I assumed that removing files and then reinstalling would be safe. Hi, I’m new to this forum so please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed, I’ve used the demo version of VOX atc and recently purchased the full copy of VOX ATC for fsxse and installed it, but it for some reason when I’ve downloaded the paid copy sent to me via email, the computer still sees it as the demo version which has expired. I uninstalled and deleted all the demo version first before installing the paid version. I have tried the registration page of VOX atc but it only does for v6 and I’ve bought v7.42. Any help with this would be appreciated because I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. thanks in advance
