Hi, Earlier I posted here a document about how to create cameras without any 3rd party program in FSX. It works fine, and I nly have problems with the "transition" property of the cameras. Based on description of the property: "When switching between camera views a “smooth” transition is obtained by moving the camera in real time from its old location to the new one. Note that this behavior is only applied if the Transition settings for both cameras are set to yes. If either or both are set to No then the view switch is instantaneous." Howdy fellow aviators! I've been ejoying the Captain Sim 767 on FSX:SE recently, but found myself unable to resolve a particular issue. I would like to utilize one of my hardware buttons for the A/T disconnect, primarily intended for final approach. However, I cannot seem to figure out how to do this. I am specifically referring to the A/T disconnect button found on the throttle lever, not the A/T arm switch found on the MCP (although I cannot really seem to get that to work either). I have tried FSUIPC's "Auto Throttle Arm" control assignment, but it doesn't appear to work. Well, at least not for my intended goal. I have also consulted the CS manuals for furthe…

Since I have all kind of problems with FSX I tried to uninstall. By doing this I get a error message: Ox80040702 Failed to load DLL GameInstallHelper Can any body tell me how to fix this ? Thank you Paul12

I couldn't find an existing topic but, anyway, I recently tried to install an older piece of software on my FSX stuff and the install replaced the opening splash screen with FS 2004 logo. While I reluctantly admit it hasn't hurt the FSX operation, it is a little annoying. The now-current splash screen file name is "dlgsplash.bmp and I could not find the original file on the DVD probably because it is inside one of the .CAB files and only the government or Apple (at least not me) can decode one of these files. While I'm kicking and screaming to no avail, I "have to" upgrade to windows 10. So, accepting that reality and trying to avoid as many problems as possible I have a ton of questions so hopefully some kind folks here will lend their expertise/experiences to avoid some of the pit falls. 1 - Should I do an upgrade(keep installed programs) OR a clean install ? 2 - My FSX install is on a separate SSD (D:\) from the OS (c:\), and all my scenery etc is on another HDD (E:\) , If I do a "Clean" install of the OS will FSX run without being officially "installed" by the OS ?. I tried to compare the real-time world weather radar from Japan: https://sharaku.eorc.jaxa.jp/GSMaP/index.htm, to various different weather engine that I know. I am so disappointed that none of the well-known payware: REX, Active Sky Next, Opus can reflect the real world weather accurately, given that downloading free precipitation data is not a hard task. Is there something I missed, and do you know what product can get accurate REAL-TIME weather? FSX-SE Win 7 Hi all, I'm not quite sure how I've done this but when loading FSX-SE I get this error message: 'Scenery.cfg file error. Invalid remote scenery path in scenery area.115.' I've looked at the scenery.cfg at Area.115 and it reads like this: [Area.115] Title=Addon Scenery Layer=115 Active=TRUE Required=TRUE Local= Remote= Is it missing something, the 'Remote' call perhaps? This was mentioned already in the MSFS 2020 forum, but not that much, since the main focus there is not FSX. On the July 25 development update of MSFS 2020, microsoft left a "hint" about a special announcment for FSX on their next development update, which will be released on August 8. What do you think this means for it? Service pack 3 with full Directx 10 support (and not just a preview)? Other major graphics upgrade? Some tool to port FSX addons to MSFS 2020 (in case it is not backwards compatible)? Port to mobile, console, or mac/linux? Release as free-to-play (mentioned on the forum, but very doubtful)?

I would like to ADD FS9 AI traffic to FSX ,,, I do not want fs9 to over write fsx so what I am getting at is to have more AI Aircraft , I would think there would be away to add FS9 AI traffic to FSX , I have FS9 aircraft installed into fsx , just do not have the thumbnails on some of them ,,, my other question regarding duplicate aircraft do I need to take the textures only from fs9 and add them to FSX ie , piper cub is in both fs9 and fsx,,, take fs9 textures add them to the piper in FSX change folder number and then add them to the aircraft cfg ?? A new pet peeve of mine with FSX ever since I started real-world flying lessons is when I fly below low clouds. For example I am at an altitude of 3,000 feet MSL and the clouds' base is 4,000 feet. I feel like I have sufficient separation from those clouds but if I get too close, all of a sudden my entire visibility from the virtual cockpit is all grey (to simulate being inside a cloud, similar to what I see out of the windows of passenger jets). In a recent real-life I flew above the clouds and as long as I stayed away from those clouds to comply with VFR flight rules, I could still see my surroundings. I'm about ready to tear my hair out. I'm trying to copy my FSX disks to ANYTHING, flash drive, external drive, even a computer file on my hard drive, but for the life of me, I can't get File Explorer to read any of the disks. Any other data DVD's work fine, so it's not the drives. If I put ANY of the 3 FSX disks into the drive and then open a File Explorer tree, it literally hangs and takes forever to display the files. It's like watching paint dry, only the paint never dries. The drive head literally clatters as it's trying to read the data on a couple of the drives I've tried. The file icons DO show up under the drive letter the left pane, but it takes forever or most o…

Hi All; I noticed this issue with all of my Add-on Airport sceneries, KJFK, KORD "Latest design (Drzewiecki), KSFO (Flightbean), KSEA (Taxi2Gate). All of the runways and the scenery edge shows a cliff like drop off rather than a smooth transaction. The runway is higher then the ground before it. The reason I am looking for some help is I have no Mesh and or Scenery add-on, just airport and that's. Also I have never had any scenery add-on before. All of the issues I have seen on the net are related to ORBX, FSGlobal, FreeMeshx etc.etc. but nothing if I just have the default ground scenery. Hey Gang, I am looking for an AI Traffic program that is happy with FSX-SE and has some modern GA Jet aircraft. These would be something more than the default aircraft of FS2002 or FS9. For instance, I am looking for some GA traffic like the Phenom 300 and other models of the Phenom, some Embraer Executive jets - not the express or small airliners, some Learjet traffic without the wing tanks, like the Lear40, 45, 60 or even a 75. Maybe some Gulfstreams GV or any G anything, Cessna CJ3 and CJ4s, M2 Mustangs, maybe even a Latitude, anything with Global, Challenger, or Bombardier in the name. That kind of starting list. Hi guys! I've upgraded my OS to Win 10, I've done a clean install of both OS and FSX, and I have a bad stutter with fsx with default plane and default scenery, fps stays locked at 30.
