Anyone know a contact name for Vertigo Studios? They created some good FSX warbirds including the P-36 Hawk and F8F Bearcat, but they've been shut down for a while. -flyndive

Recently I discovered a way to slow down the road traffic in FSX. It was such a small, minor tweak but it had a big effect of immersion. The default traffic was always too fast, it looked a bit cartoony. In the past few days I've been spending some time just flying above urban areas and looking at the traffic behaving in more realistic ways. Unfortunately they seem to be on screen for a limited time. Often I can be admiring the aesthetic effect of the traffic when a a car or truck just instantly disappears. I know it's a compromise the developers made, having traffic stay on the map for your whole flight would be a drain on processor use. But it's still annoying. I …

Here's my solution. I've been on board eliminating tweaks in the configuration file, thinking less is more. However, with my new more powerful computer I've been CTD with my stable of A2A airplanes. With my old Windows 7 rig I never had this issue, so I tried reverting to some settings that I used with Windows 7. Adding this tweak back in to my configuration fixed the A2A airplane CTD problem. Hello, A few days ago I had to format my PC and reinstalled FSX SP2 on; What happens is that when I enter the simulator I choose a flight and when I load it it only reaches approximately 50% and the program closes. I hope the title conveys what I'm getting at. Quite often my throttle is stuck at 2-3% and will go no lower. Even with the throttle quadrant pulled all back. What about editing the individual plane configuration min_throttle_limit. Not sure editing this makes a difference. Any opinions welcome. CH Throttle Pro

Just encountered this for the first time just a while ago. Was flying FSX on VATSIM with vPilot on a KJAX - KDTW flight. Everything was fine until I was in Atlanta Center territory and FSX crashed. Restarted everything, logged back onto vPilot and FSX crashed again. Restart once more without vPilot, everything working just fine. I uninstalled vPilot and reinstalled it, still causing FSX to crash. Looked in the event log, vPilot is messing with the sim1.dll somehow as that is the cause of FSX crashing when vPilot is running. Has anyone else had this issue before? Also posted on VATSIM forums in case anyone might know something as well.

Hey guys! After returning to the world of simming after almost 7 years, I am thinking to kick start my flight simming again. But as I have shifted to a new resident, I found that my joystick is no longer with me. I think it's kept in some of the remotest area of the new house. By the way I have thought of buying the TCS yoke and throttles set next year. Hey guys! Returning to the world of simming feels really nice. The last time I flew a flight in a simulator was 7 years ago in FS2004. To be honest, most of my FS9 payware and freeware addons are safely stored in my old hard drive! But now the time has elapsed. With my new laptop, I am aiming to gear up with a new sim, probably FSX. But I am severely facing a trouble about which to choose - FSX Gold Edition or FSX Steam Edition. One of my friend owns the gold Edition but according to some reviews I found the Steam Edition was much better. So I would like someone to please help me differentiate the pros and cons of both the editions as well as help me choose…

Looks like I'll have to wait many more years before additional, feature rich, classic, non-GA planes in FS2020 (and FS2024) get created. So yup, a plane and Brussels X. Even though I really don't care for turboprops, all I hear about this plane are positive things. I plan to enjoy many months (years?) learning this new plane with a GSX version that doesn't double load times. Any tips with this plane?

Orbx 'Global Base Pack' for FSX is currently discounted by 30%. Does anyone know if it regularly gets discounted by any more than this? I've had it on my wishlist for a quite a while but have been on the fence about spending more on FSX. Having said that, I find myself using FSX more than 2020 :) Thanks

Hi there- Im posting because that alost every aircraft I try to put in my sim does NOT show up in the aircraft selection. I use companies under the Manufacturer such as Project Airbus for the A320 models from Project Airbus. Also, tried installing one from Mike Stone and titled it "Mike Stone" under manufacturer name. Still didn't show up. Before I spend countless hours downloading airplanes, can someone help me in knowing why my aircraft is not showing up? Am I missing something? Lee

Hi Experts, I have Flysimware Learjet 35A with FMS and for some reason when I click on the com and nav tuning knobs they don't change the standby frequencies. I tried it on other FSX aircraft and had no issues so I think its specific to Flysimware. Anyone else with this issue? I'd like to shoot ILS approaches... Thanks

There doesn't seem to be an option to save various control profiles for different aircraft in FSX like there is in P3D. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Fellow simmers- I have a problem. When I select an aircraft from the list and then go to fly it, as soon as i apply throttle, the plane suddenly turns either to the left or right and I cant steer it. Has anybody here experience this problem? What do I need to do? Any help or suggestions would be kind. Thank you. Lee

Hi there- Im just posting to see if any of you out there have ever experienced the problem of after the sim gets installed when you go to play it, you get an error messages that says something about some side-by-side thing configuration and to check out sxstrace in the system screen thats back where you can enter commands and such. Anybody get that error and possibly know how to fix it so I may be able to play the game after installing the game? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Lee

Hi there! I'm here because I deleted my world of ai aircraft and flight plans NOW that I deleted them, when I go to re-install them it says its still there and would I care to repair the file. Anybody have this problem? This isn't the first time this has happened to me. Im thinking I'll have to re-install the game and all new files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much.

Experienced FSX user here, looking to be double checked. New computer, new FSX/Accel boxed installation. Latest Nvidia driver installed via Nick N procedure. Deleted FSX.cfg trying to fix, no change. flushed shader cache, no change. Windows 11 Nvidia inspector 2.4.0.4 ver. is not affecting FSX in game. Everything is moderately jagged and not like it was under the previous W7 installation. Inspector is not smoothing out the software picture within the application. Maybe other flyers are using an older version of Nvidia Inspector with success. That's the only thing I can think of. If you are please list which version and …

Hi all, I have being using FSX se for along time and over the years many tweaks have surfaced with lots of different opinions on what works and what doesn't and so on So the question is, and yes it is VERY subjective what tweaks are really needed in FSX se. I use Steve's Direct x10 fix -Infinity mask= -highmemfix= -buffer pools= Any others I have missed? Cheers Rhys

Is the Leonardo Fly the Maddog for FSX still available anywhere? Been looking for it but I've only found the MSFS and P3D version available.

Flying FSX again after many years, having an issue where fsx/gold is adding or deleting commands from the appdata controls standard.xml. this is a new fsx.gold installation, a few years ago never ran into this problem with my original boxed fsx install. I'm using the CH throttle and joystick. I checked read only on the file without success. any help appreciated. fsx/gold - windows 7 64 CH products fighterstick and throttle standard xml and standard xml listed in the fsx.cfg

CH throttle, all the way back still reports 2% throttle. I would welcome a work around. I'm considering yet another calibration via not pulling the throttle all the say back, and leaving a small amount of play before the final click.
