Thinking about getting Coolsky DC-9. I really enjoy complex addons with full failures like the PMDG 737 NGX, A2A, etc.. Can you set the DC-9 failures to random versus just checking on which failure to implement? How many scenarios are there? Is the plane worth buying overall? thanks.

  4. If anyone is using SImcheck's excellent A300B4-200 with GSX, can they kindly confirm that an error message to download the latest Add-on Manager flags up when selecting services from the drop-down menu? Or how they managed to overcome those error flags and get GSX working correctly? Thanks.

  5. Hey, as in the topic: When I create a flightplan in the FSX menu, it loads into the fmc, but within the fmc, typing is not possible. When I click on a letter, nothing happens....maybe there´s just a minor mistake causing this, but I can´t fix it! Thanks for helping, Jan

Hello all, I got yesterday the absolute coolest atc add on for fsx! It is on the market since 2012 (hope I'm right) and got several updates since that time! It works perfectly with the NGX and is able to load the flight plans for every PmdG plane for fsx! Have a look on youtube for PRO ATC/X and you will find videos from Clive aka alpha117...it's worth the money belive me! As I#m not really a online flyer it's the best option for me! The developer is called pointsoftware, they have a great support as well! So enough talking, hope someone will enjoy it as much as me! :drinks: Cheers Sven Wendel

The recent blizzard that came through denver got me thinking. Does anyone know of a program that simulates De-icing on the ramp? For example you pull up to the deicing pad and a truck pulls up and deices you. I feel like this would be a really cool addon! Thoughts anyone?

Hi all- Anybody know of a good Palm Springs airport rendition? I see the file in the library but looks to be 2004 vintage with a patch for FSX. Just returned from there and made a stop at the air museum. I haven't seen a greater collection of WWII aircraft anywhere. Highly recommended. Thanks, Mark

I've only ever done short (<2hr) flights on flight sim before but i want to do an atlantic crossing from europe to north america soon. What do you guys do to keep yourselved entertained on the cruise? Technically given it's a simulator, flying 7 hrs is really no different to a 45 minute cruise because once you're cruising unless you have failures set, nothing happens. But i kind of like the idea of doing it properly and not just increasing the time compression!

I think a helicopter flight model might work better for this. And the original series sound effects. The details are excellent, though.

Back in FS9, FlyTampa's KSAN scenery was one of my favorite places to fly in to. To my knowledge, there's no high quality KSAN for FSX available. There used to be a new developer which seemed to be close to release with what seemed to be a good quality scenery, but they vanished. I know there's something available on Simmarket, but looking at the screenshots, I don't consider it to be FSX-worthy. Why does no high-end developer take a look at KSAN (and surrounding)? I'm talking about FlyTampa, FSDT, FlightBeam, Aerosoft... Would be nice to hear some reasons and opinions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. I have seen videos of the FSL Concorde X on YouTube and I have read that many people love this plane. It looks like a greay addon, and I am thinking about buying the Concorde X, but first I want to be aware of what problems/issues people have been having with this plane. My regards, Nathan3219

  14. If I connect to an FSX multiplayer session, would having OPUS open do anything at all for the weather? Or would the camera options be all that function? Thanks! btw...your weather depiction is amazing....I am constantly grabbing screenshots instead of performing proper pilotage.....

I'm just wondering how many of you use default AI Traffic in FSX. I never use it because I never use fsx ATC, so I usually end up landing while some other plane is landing right in front of me, and sometimes a plane is on the runway while I'm landing. I also hate how the planes are labeled, I would love to actually have to spot the aircraft myself without a giant red label over every AI airplane. Also, AI planes decrease frames ALOT. thanks for voting ADD: Also, for some reason, I see sometimes two of the same AI Traffic fly immediately right next to each other.. So sometimes I see two 747's seperated by 10 feet landing at the same time.

  16. Since As2012 SP2 been playing around with As2012 and rex textures Currently using Rex airport etc textures and sky textures, but all else form As2012. And the result is wow. Uisng REX reality texture set, and just random as2012. took a long a long timebut , As2012 clouds are now finally the best, along with a more dynamic thunderstorm effect. Its great both programs have a very similar interface for graphics setup so its easy to pick and mix. But as said earlier rex ground/airport and sky textures and all else from as2012 is the wow. Ps let me know your findings, just testing new install after being aw3ay for a while.

  18. Hey everyone, It's been years since I've played a flight sim (flightsim2004) and trying to get back to it is a bit overwhelming. I'm an air traffic controller for the FAA and flying has been a big passion since I was little. I'm wanting to get back into it but there's so much to it now. A few of my main questions: -Is the computer ATC pretty good in FSX? I would eventully want to get into VATSIM, so what all do I need to participate in that? -What should I expect with a core 2 duo with windows XP, and an average G-force video card? Bd or ok performance?

  19. FSX has been out for over half a decade now and it was made clear that it would be the final version of flight simulator. Is this for the best from both a consumer and developer standpoint? Here's my take on it.. Consumer: Hardware is catching up and it's at the point now that I believe we can run the sim at a high level of detail without slaughtering our computers. And with 3rd party development, I see this sim looking better and better as time goes on. Developer or third party: No more new code to work with, no more headaches to update a previously released product to a new version of FS. You guys can sleep at night knowing that your quality products w…

  20. With the recent announcement of REX Essential Plus, I have become totally confused about this product. I own REX Overdrive v2.5 HD. Some time ago I was one of many who logged into their site and provided my purchase order number. Based upon what I thought I was reading, I was going to be able to get an upgrade to REX Essentials. I also thought we were to be notified about this upgrade. REX Essentials has been out for a while now, recently they have done some fixes and called it REX Essentials Plus. Do I have to buy REX Essentials to get the new product? Is there no upgrade from REX Overdrive HD? What is the difference between REX Essentials and REX O…

Hi Cheryl Firstly as one of the earlier purchases of Opus just want to say thanks for all the upgrades you have put out. I just want to ask a general question about Opus and wind speeds in FSX. Am I right in thinking that if you are using a static theme in Opus, you can increase the wind speed by going into the weather programme in FSX and under user defined weather /customise, increase the wind speed on the slider ? Are the 2 linked together ? Finally do you know if it is possible to increase the maximum wind speed of 36 knots by editing the cfg. somewhere ? I am trying to replicate some more difficult cross wind landings. Many thanks Paul

Just wanted to inquire if the 777 from Captain Sim is in a decent state now. I've seen a lot of forum posts, mostly going back to late 2012 (0.8 etc), and the overall opinion wasn't that great up to that point. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

  23. I have programed my Saitek X52 Joystick and Throttle using both the FSUIPC ( payed version )and FS controls. I have been very carefull not to program the same key or axis on both at the same time. Everything has worked like a charm except for one toggle at the top of the joystick. I cannot pan and hold. Example, looking at the instrument panel, when I pan to the right, it will not stay. When released, it goes back to the instrument panel. Hours have been spent trying to resolve this problem. In FSUIPC, I have tried both the axis and also the buttons format plus all the options that it has. This is something that is absolutly necessary, so I can have full control in see…

  24. Started by jetsmell,

I have the X 52 Joystick and Throttle that was purchased about eight years ago. Before any programing my joystick has three buttons that work, flaps, change camera, and parking brake. Those are good and want to keep them. I went to the Saiteck site and downloaded the drivers ( also had the disk in ). A pop up told me that it was only compatible with XP, I have Windows 8. Went through to manually program the other buttons. It doesn't work. The buttons that are programed are dead in FSX. I even installed the FSX program from their site and it doesn't work. The parking brake that I once had is gone. When I delete the files I get that back. Tried a lot of things to make it …
