Hi im having a problem with my night texture on my RPLL scenery which is originally design for fs9. But as you can see the photo i attached, those buildings at the back are also from fs9 scenery and there night texture are working except for the airport. All the building night texture within the airport were not loading. I already tried converting them to .dds, dxt1 no alpha and dxt5 but none of them worked. And by the way Direct10 is NOT tick on the fsx settings. Any help on this? Thanks FSX SP2, Windows 7 64bit

Posting this as a PSA to Google in the future for other lost souls or newbies: If your engine spools up and down repeatedly without starting in FSX, with the default Bombardier Learjet or the helicopters (Agusta EH-101, for example), this is because you have FSX set to start up default with Mixture fully lean/at Idle Cutoff. Some aircraft in FSX do not have an obvious Mixture control. Use the keystrokes CTRL+SHIFT+F4 to set Mixture to Full Rich. This will solve the problem.

I have just gotten to the point with FSX that I want to add good AI traffic and given that I don't want to spend any more money on addon's unless they are crutial to an emersive NGX experience, World of AI seem to be the way to go from what I have read. I have downloaded the installer and about half of the 600 or so packages but before I start hammering them into my FSX folder I wanted to ask for some tips and warning given that I am a complete nob when it comes to computers. Since I've made the decision to return to this hobby, well not just yet (the new system won't be in for a few weeks), I'm just curious to know what are some add-ons that are in the works that you will be jumping to purchase. Scenery, aircraft, whatever it may be. What's on your "gotta-have-it" list of things that are coming? I'm just trying to build that list as well as what to buy that is already out there. Hello to all, I need some help! I've installed Ultimate traffic 2, and I thought, that everything is ok. And it was, until I;ve loaded a flight plan. After that I understood that none of the AI planes will ever take off, because they were sinking in the ground. I heard about this problem with traffic, but I've found only when wheels are unb the ground, but in my case, there is almost a half of the plane is there. So please, help me! Hi, I know it's a pretty beaten up topic but after reading about it for days I couldn't make heads or tails. My system is mediocre: Core2Duo and a GT 520. Yet I'm happy with it and can get 50+ FPS with default aircraft and very high settings (AI traffic always off because I fly 99% online). FPS goes down to some 20 with complex aircraft and/or busy areas but I'm happy with that as well. I can see it's the CPU bottlenecking since one core is always maxed while the GPU is at ~50% capacity. When it gets hairy (bad weather etc.) the GPU goes up to some 70 or 80% with no FPS impact. I'd heard good things about them in the past with regards to aircraft repaints, and decided to take the plunge and have them do a custom QW 75 for me (at $50 BTW). Let me start off by saying this review of sorts is in no way finished, as I'm still waiting on a response from Customer Service regarding this. For someone with virtually no experience in flight simulators, who wants to try it out recreationally: is MS FSX the best AVSIM software for a beginner? Is so, why? If not, why not--and which software is better?

hello, i have eye finity but i dont know how to set fsx up with it. i remember doing it once but the cockpit looked so zoomed in and would only let me zoom out a little but it looked so bad, so i never tried it again. as of today im just curious to what fsx could change and look like in eyefinity. does any body know how to set it up properly. many thanks. my systemis an i5 2500k oc 4.2 , hd 6870

Hello there, Anybody out there is using OpenVFR? It is a great little addon I just installed for France and the scenery is really better for VFR flying. I prefer this to UTX. However I just realized that something was wrong with my lakes and rivers - the coastlines simply disappeared. In short they are ugly. The OpenVFR website tells about some known issue 'water polylines do not display' however I do not know if it is the same issue compared to what I see (or rather do not see) Can some other user please confirm if you have coastlines around rivers and lakes just like in default or UTX? This airplane has been around for a few years and this may already have been dealt with it, but I just bought it a few weeks ago. It's a nice airplane, but I cannot find the elevator trim control. I have looked in all the obvious places in the VC and have searched Google and most of the FS forums, but no luck. (I know I can ujse the keyboard, but I want to do it in the VC.) Any owners of this plane out there who know where it is? Mike

I'm running Win 8 and FSX Gold. I just installed Active Sky 2012 without any errors. However, I have now lost the ability to map or use my CH peddles, throttle quad and yoke. I noticed that the install of Active Sky made modifications to FSUIPC4. I have the latest version installed. I also have a couple of PMDG products installed. I also noticed that Active Sky installed DirectX9. PMDG installed DirectX10. Anyone know of any conflicts between these two versions of DirectX? Maybe I need to use FSUIPC to control my CH products. Any help would be appreciated before I go to the trouble of uninstalling Active Sky, my Aircraft and FSX and starting over. Jim Drisk…

Mine is a short hop from KSNA (John Wayne) up to KSBA (Santa Barbara) via one of the ZLA TEC routes in the J41 or Turbine Duke. Coming in over the water on the VOR to Runway 25, turning short final over the houses. (Scenery I use is Megascenery X SoCal, Cities X Los Angeles, UTX). Spill your guts. Hey fellas, I know I've never been a supporter of Carenado aircraft, but I have to say, I have always liked the look of their 182Q. I feel as though I'd like to add it to my hanger, but am resisting due to my disappointment with some, not all, of my other purchases from Carenado. The thing that would sway me is if I knew Bernt Stolle had released an FDE for it. I thought I read a post from a guy around here who had a copy, but alas I've been unable to find any information regarding this. Ok so now I have another problem as I'm not sure which one to choose I posted earlier about the fsdreamteam sceneries for kjfk and klas which is fine for kjfk but I've just noticed that aerosoft do Las Vegas as a scenery which includes klas but also includes the las vegas area and part of the rockies. So I now don't know which one to get. The aerosoft scenery looks ok from the video on youtube and klas looks ok any ideas on what would be the better purchase ,I have a reasonably good system and frame rates for me are pretty good with my fsx sliders pretty much maxed out and i'm running it in dx10 mode.
