Awhile back the publisher of Experience X was discussing an update to the product that would disable lighting w/autogen which could make a large difference in performance and (for me) make the product usable again. I can't find that thread and their website doesn't detail when the current version was released or what changes might have been made since the previous version. Anyone know anything about this?

I recently purchased the IRIS Diamond DA 42. But somehow I can't find out how to show the DME distance. I don't see it in the G1000 nor anywhere else. How can I read the DME distance? I would like to do instrument approaches with this plane.

Hello. I'm wondering, has anyone successfully installed and patched Flightzone's KPDX in FSX? I do see the website that includes the "patch" to make it work along with the instructions on how to do it. But I can't find more than a couple posts where someone has reported it actually working. Are there any issues? Crashes? Right now I'm running 306.91 nivida drivers on my 660ti do any of the later drivers give fsx a fps boost?

Hi guys Have no idea why it happened, but a large area of the Enlish Chanel is now land instead sea. It has a straight edge, so is made of blocks with no coastline. I've seen this come up before, but cant find the posts. Any ideas please?

I've gotten to the point where I'm ready to pick the packages I want to download but I don't know where to go and what to do next. I have all my airlines downloaded and ready to go.

Is there a plan view where I can step through the waypoints in the FMC to look at the route I have programmed, like you can in Boeing FMC's?

Hello opus team, First thank you for the opusfsx, it really took fsx to a new level. When I purchased the software everything was going as it should, but after my first flight with ivao ( after the purchase), the primary server didn't load the live weather, the spy is giving the 0 metars available message (unless I tick the avsim server option for missing info). I tried everything on your flight one forum, checked everything, and still no change. Avsim server is not giving the required quality so I really appreciate your assistance. With best regards,

Hello All, I recently received my PPL back in Oct 2012. All of my training was in a C172N. Due to the high cost of flying the real aircraft I am looking to suplement my experience with flight sims. I have been experimenting with FSX the past few weeks but have not been impressed so far. I have the Saitek/Cessna yoke, pedals and TPM and know there is a lot that I need to do to improve on the out of the box FSX installation. I have been reading a lot on the forums about things like AccuFeel and also getting addons for weather and scenery and will be experimenting with those. Some of my problems may just be in how I have things setup. I am willing to due the research but…

This is a stupid question but I haven't been able to locate an answer. In vc, is there any way to quickly snap to user- defined views? I can use the hat button to pan about, but it is slow and cumbersome. It seems that the defined snap commands in the keys list are disabled in vc. I'd like to be able to define certain vc views that I can quickly toggle back and forth between. In the 2d cockpit, the hat button can snap to quick views (left, right, etc), but I obviously prefer vc.

I keep seeing an IRIS F-16D all over youtube, but I can't find where to puchase it. Did they discontinue it or something?

After going back and forth for the last 2 years trying to decide on a new system, I finally decided to pull the trigger... I've missed FS, and I mean that... It's one hell of a hobby for aviation enthusiast. I recently downloaded and installed Bernt Stolle's FDE upgrade for the Carenado Grand Caravan. This is one of my favourite aircraft, but I wanted to correct the rather severe and odd flight characteristics that resulted in the plane dropping like a stone when the throttle was eased and any kind of flaps operated. The FDE patch, certainly eradicated this issue, but it seems to have gone in completely the opposite direction. An example would be when descending from about 1000 FPM to 2500 FPM, with half flaps, the AS appears to hardly increase. Another example is on approach, full flaps, throttles right back and the plane once again appears to hardly lose any AS, in fact try…

Hi all, I am posting with an issue that has frustrated me for the last 4 hours. FSX Gold will not install properly. I inserted disc 1 and 2 they did there thing, then it checks computer memory and after that all windows close, I get no accept terms window or product key window. What should I do???

Hi folk ! Where can I find and download a lower autogen tree set for FSX, because default trees too tall ? I remember it was for FS9, but make it someone for FSX or contain such a payware software if there is not a freeware ? Thanks !

Not the one from CaptainSim. I found, as I'm sure quite a few of you have, the great "JB Panels" freeware 777 panel available here on AVSIM. I found it, figured "This will suck, it is freeware, anyway.", and found that it's one of, if not my favorite freeware available. Though not quite as accurate, I think I like it more than the PT TU-154, just because I can read the gauges, and the fact that I actually like the 777. It offers an FMC, TCAS, V-Speeds, TOGA, LNAV, VNAV, a full overhead, and as a possible future release, weather radar. Ok I need a little help. I don't have the latest beta version downloaded so forgive me there. When I'm flying the pmdg 737ngx and I'm at my cruise altitude say fl380 on vatspy or any monitoring program for vatsim my altitude is saying about 5000 feet below my set altitude in the airplane. Yes I have the baro pressure set standard at 29.92 at that altitude. Any suggestions as to why my altitude readings would be different??

Hi all, Many years ago, I can just about remember an add-on for FS9 (freeware I beleive) that changed the simulator into a rendition of the Golden Age of aviation (I think in this case the 1940s). So some airports were changed to reflect how they were in the 40s etc. I think this was just for Great Britain but I could be wrong. My question is, is there anything at all for FSX that can "time travel" us back to the Golden Ages. Something that will be more appropriate (in terms of airfields etc) for flying my DC-2, DC-3, B377, DC-6, Connie, etc in ? Cheers.
