I am having severe fps problems with my 1 year old install of FSX. This started after an upgrade to my MOBO & CPU so I wanted to install a 2nd totally default version on a 2nd hard drive I have on same computer. When I tried to load the discs it would only give me options to repair or remove the current version. Is there a way to get it installed on 2nd hard drive? Thanks, Jerry

Okay yall so i have rex, utx, gex, orbx for AU, and some other addon a/c but ive noticed something missing. Where are the birds?? With engines off and windows open its too quiet... Any ideas? I looked at accu feel 2 but it dosnt add enviroment like birds and such.

Hi, Is it possible to use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate around the outside view (on the ground) inside FSX. Because at the moment i'm using EzDok because that uses the arrow keys but they conflict with each other? Thanks, Stephen

What should be my setting in the ini file for a 5.1 speaker setup?

As the topic suggests, I'm curious how Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog owners are setting up the power lever detents. I have reverse set successfully, but I'm having a hard time with achieving idle power. When I release the brakes, the aircraft is off to the races. I'd be melting brakes like nobody's business if I had to taxi like that in RL.

The step by step process for the FMC is hard to follow with missing info that jumps steps. I can't get the J586 airway inserted and I dont even have the FrankX6 star! Pete

Hi all, I know that this topic is/ has been discussed here over and over again but i couldn't find them despite doing a search... So I own a Wilco Airbus Evo and have not flied with it since NGX ( before that it was my favourite plane besides PMDG MD-11). Now there is Wilco, Aerosoft's Airbus Xtended and BBS AB Xtreme. I would like your opinions on which of these is right now the best one. And how framerate-hungry are they compared to Wilco's product. Thanks in advance, Petteri EFNU

Is there a way to keep the sound in vc cockpit constant instead of varying when you use the hat switch when view panning? Some of my aircraft have the sound of the engine constant when panning and I have compared the aircraft .cfgs but cannot see any differences between them. When flying Just Flight's Spitfire Mk V and view forward you can hardly hear the engine at all unless you pan slightly left or right of centre, its very annoying. I get the same effect in spot view with a lot of sound stuttering. Any ideas? Nigel

Hi, I've been using Opus FSX but it never seems to display any data in the weather reports on the menu. I have attached a screenshot to show what I mean. As far as i'm concerned i've set it up correctly (adding destination ICAO, alternate ICAOS, and cruise Alt). The data never displays every time. Thanks, Stephen

In the provided checklist, the after takeoff section says "Bleeds ON/NORM" but the tutorial says on climb, set bleeds to MAX. Which is correct? Also is 180 the proper climb speed?

So I'm going to do a cross country flight across the u.s in a GA aircraft. I was wondering If anyone has suggestions on the best GA Payware aircraft that would be good for it. Requirements: -Wings on top of the aircraft(excuse my nonpilot terminology) like on the c172, so sightseeing is good. -Realistic aircraft movements and features -Realistic in general (Takeoff speed, maneuvers, etc.) So far I have checked out the Carenado Cessna 337, which looks good. According to Majestic documentation, the controls values need to line up with your hardware for the accurate modelling to work. When you open up the cofig. app there are values populated already. The manual says nothing about where to find these values. Are they from FSUIPC? I am using the CH Throttles and Yoke and the raw value goes from 0 to 255, nothing like to max 65555 value that shows up at the config. application. As a result moving the throttles and prop feather is not accurate at all. If you have successfully set up these controls, could you please share? This is a very basic question, but I'm asking it anyway I have a shiny new Windows 8 machine. No software on it at all except a virus checker. I also have the media for FSX Deluxe and FSX acceleration pack. At the moment I don't have FSX SP1 or FSX SP2 (do you need SP1 if you install SP2 anyway?) How do I install FSX so that it will work on Win8 ? Is the following sequence correct? 1) Install Deluxe 2) Install Acceleration pack 3) Find and install SP1 4) Find and install SP2 On top of that what else, if anything should I be installing, (either freeware or payware), or doing to get the best out of FSX ? When I go to free flight , no matter which airport is chosen, there are vertical , yellow , translucent structures that shouldn't be there. If you go to Missions you will see the same structures . They're used as a guide so you know where to fly. They don't belong in free flight. I don't know if I should uninstall FSX ( something I really don't want to do ). I'm guessing that maybe something in the files should be adjusted, but I don't know what to look for. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks

When I load up my plane at PANC (Anchorage x by Aerosoft) it always places it at lake hood strip I type in Panc and it loads and then shows Lake hood. that's it really :-) but annoying because I cant plan a flight :( . Any ideas how to fix?

Hello, I do not use autogen. I decided to test the "sparse" and of course I see more trees, buildings , ... BUT when these objects are generated they are "tearing" vertically. How to solve? :blink:

I'm getting about 10 fps at Uk2000 Heathrow with 50% traffic in the PMDG 747. But my CPU usage is about 40%. How can i get FSX to use more to increase the fps? I have an i7 920 stock speed.

Could anyone give me a few steps please in how to get this aircraft started so I can save it in engine started state? I may decide to start it up following the procedure eventually but not today. I just want to simply fly this aircraft. Or could anyone give me a save state files.. I can PM my e-mail addy. Its unfortunate that tthey have not give us a few saved flight for duffers like me... who simply want to get going right off the bat for now.

I bought mine got it downloaded with no issues from Simmarket, but during install get INTERNAL error and cant install, anyone else see this?
