I've been primarily flying the NGX of late with my PFC yoke and throttle console set up through FSUIPC. I was fooling around trying to set up my controllers to work with the Q and was wondering if it is possible to use FSUIPC to send axes to FSX or should they be assigned in FSX before using the Majestic control panel to do the calibration. Didn't have much luck in the limited time I had this morning. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

Hey bought Dash 400 on Saturday. Nothing but praise for plane. Only thing run a VA and having problems with acars software. Tried Smartcars and Kacars. Tracks flight but landing rate plus 1000 or more Xacars doesn't start because it can't tell when engines are started or stopped. I know this is caused by FDE running outside of FSX, but wondering if there is a setting in MJC control panel which might resolve this.

Ive been lurking around here for the about the past year while dabbling in X-plane 10 but this new Dash 8 has brought me back into FSX pretty hard. Congrats to Majestic on a very fine aircraft! While there is a ton to really enjoy, one thing I don't enjoy is having to manipulate a lot of the cockpit functions with the mouse when I have hardware that under normal circumstances would be able to be used; easing the workload of piloting under demanding workload conditions. I understand that much of the code is ran outside of FSX but is there any plans to incorporate some enhanced hardware options? Even my trusty GoFlight 166's are useless for Nav/Com functions, whic…

I have a problem with fonts. Many times instead numbers i see squares. Fortunate, many values are also given as tooltip, but for example entering transponder value is not possible, cause simply i do not know what numbers i am putting. Seems to be that all MFD's are affected by wrong font display problem.

Approaching minimums, I get a callout "100" then a few seconds later, "minimums" then a few seconds after that, "100" Is the airplane calling out 100 when it should be "approaching minimums"?

I seem to be doing OK but on take off with the same load as demo flight and 3000LB of fuel. weight etc set as per demo flight after opening the exit doors. I did not change Trim it's at the top of the TO marking. But when I start take off roll after picking up speed I get a take off warning noise and the Q400 take off on it's own at around 96kts and then it goes all bad. So how can I set trim right pls.

On 13 march 2013 I requested help in order to install FSX in Windows 7 or Widnows 8 because both systems where giving me errors 1722 and 1603. Hi fellas, I've just got my grubby little hands on the new Q400 and like most others, I find it stunning! However, most opinions I've read on the forum have all said how the frames are better than the NGX and some have reported that they are substantially better. Sadly I do not have that experience. I would say the frames are more or less identical to the NGX, which is a shame, because the reported framerate benefits was one of the many influencing factors in my decision to buy. Of course this is rig dependent and for some reason I am experiencing poorer frames than many others. I don't get hung up on frames over smoothnes, but nevertheless I was wondering if there is som…

As I'm sure some repainters of the Dash have noticed, the Dash does not seem to utilize alpha channels to their fullest potential. What I mean by this, is that you cannot make the aircraft surfaces more reflective (if you can, it seems to be by a very small amount). Samdim stated in the support forum that this is intenitoanl since he does not feel overly shiney aircraft are realistic. While I agree, I also don't think every aircraft is painted to be overly shiney in FSX (since it's up to the repaint creator how they create their art). Therein lies the issue. Is there away to imput data to both fms at the same time, or you have to do each one of them separately.

this might be dumb question but is rudder pedals a must or rudder can be done via auto-rudder option, some of us still fly from small office space with no pedals or twist joystick, but noticed last night that take off or landing in impossible without any type of rudder input, just curious if there is a switch or config that would allow the auto rudder option?

So what's the general opinion of the A330 by Black Box Simulations? There seems to be a lot of mixed opinions about it. The price seems reasonable but the VC is not up to standard of some recent offerings and I don't really feel like paying for an unfinished product. If the results were overwhelmingly positive i'd buy it but I'm seeing a lot of criticism and BBS seems to be hiding the VC (ie no video available). Who sells a new addon with no video marketing? For now this is a pass unless someone can convince me otherwise.

Hi, Anyone know how to increase the brighness of the taxil and landing lights in FSX. I use the PMDG 737 NGX in 2D mode and the lights are controlled by FSX and are pretty dim. ANy cfg changes to increase the brightness? Thanks Rob

I noticed a few days ago that all my AI aircrafts have lost their contrails. I cannot tell you if this problem was there for a long time, but I noticed it only last week. My configuration is : FSX SP2 + AS2012 SP2 for weather aloft + UT2 for AI. What I already did is the following : I verified that the fx_contrail_l.fx and fx_contrail_s.fx files in the Effects folder are the original ones. I verified also that fx_1.bmp and fx_smoke.bmp textures are the original ones. I tried to change the contrail length in UT2 I verified that the temperature where AI airplanes are flying is less than -30C And up to now, the contrails remain non-existent. Why does the weather radar stay on standby until you are in the air? Is this how it is designed? Usually you should be able to turn it on while on the ground, when lining up on the runway to make sure you don't fly straight into storm cells, for example.

I am really enjoying flying this aircraft. I use Radar Contact and it works for the most part but when descending RC has trouble recognizing that I am descending and keeps giving me the warning even though I am descending to the assigned alt. (usual 3 warnings and you have to report). Anyone else notice this? Thanks Darcy

I have my nav source to FMS1, but I selected VOR1 and VOR2 to display on the main panel, but instead it keeps showing the countdown to the next FMS1 waypoint. Why doesn't VOR1 and 2 show under DME1/2 and count down to NM remaining?

We are slowly but surely getting the majority of the activation issues under control. the onset of the problem started due to our activation server (Majestic software) being unable to handle the excessively high demand during the early stages after launching the Q400. Hi, First to the mods - please don't move this because I've asked the same question on the X Plane forum but got only one (very positive) response. When you drop a big amount of money on a PMDG plane you know you're getting quality, so I wanted to double check here. Hi everyone I am loving this new bird but have 1 issue that I can't seem to get a handle on. Having vor 1 vor 2 tuned to a valid frequencys the range the aircraft picks the signal up is very restricted and the DME readout often doesn't even show up at all. Is anybody else seein this behavior?
