Hello, Since I cannot get my Q400 forum login approved yet (email problem like many others) I will try for help here. I can fly the new Q400 (many test flights) great now - a little rough on landings but OK. What I cannot get yet is my VOR activation. I usually do not use the FMS for my short hops - just VOR - to - VOR. I cannot get it to work yet - probably my fault. Here is the situation: I am completely ready to pushback. I enter the VOR that I want to use into the radio VOR1 area (say 113.50 for KCHS) I am leaving from KCAE. Hi Can someone point out to me how to create a custom waypoint in the FMS? I found the real world manual for the UNS1Ew but it was taking forever to load and I ran out of time. Is this covered somewhere in the manuals I didn't see? Thanks Lee

Hi all, My original comment about this was is in the release thread but I wanted to highlight it here. My concern is regarding the elevator authority and how the trim settings affect said authority. There have been counter comments about how the dash-8 doesn't flare in the landing and that it has to be flown onto the runway (hence its nickname 'Smash-8'), but if the real aircraft acts like this I would hate to be in a go around situation as its impossible to get the required elevator authority when trimmed at landing speed. Here are few questions. - Does the Pilot version come with any failures or do you have to get the Pro version? - Can the plane be damaged due to mis-use of the pilot and lead to failures? - Does icing simulation actually have an impact on flight charactersistics and engines or is just for eye candy? - Does the plane keep track of wear and tear based on usage list the A2A B377? I am looking for realistic features not just simulated or eye candy options. thank you.

Is it me, or is there no spot view with the Q400? I can find the locked spot, but not the view which allows you to fly around the aircraft smoothly with the hatswitch. I hope it's a question of a small cfg tweak, as this is virtually the only external view I use. Is anyone else experiencing this too? Cheers...

Hey folks, Having made the purchase of fsx gold today, i am asking aboutits installation.of all its compnonents, anyhing above the default bog standard fsx. All sceneries, pmdg etc i know what i am doing there so thats not an issue. Does it matter when/how adex is installed? Regards paul

Hi! Since I'm a sucker for rain, I'm searching high and low for aircrafts with rain available in VC-mode. I refuse to fly in rain with no actual windshield raineffects! So far I've discovered(and purchased); RealAir Duke B60 and DukeTurbine PMDG J41 I know the Enigma 737-200 might include rain, but that's yet to be confirmed. I know one of the devs where working on it, but due to unfortunate circumstances, that have at best been temporary halted. Flying from Cardiff (EGFF) to Dublin (EIDW) - flt plan from vroute with BCN as first waypoint in plan. Enter the SID for BCN dep as BCN1A -rwy30 - with altitude constraints as attached pic. All the constraints are in the FPL when SID is entered. Have set up Nav source,pressed nav etc but it will not fly the altitude constraints - anyone one can do a noob run thro the FMC to make the Dash fly the constraints. I use alt 18000 and it just climbs straight up to that. Googled but to no avail. Thanks Denis

First off, I want to say, having followed this project forever...it is a fantastic systems simulation. The model is fantastic, the VC is incredible, and the flight dynamics are absolutely superb! That P-Factor is something else . I've never used the rudder trim on my yoke until now. Does anyone know if XPAX will work with PMDG 737 NGX?

So, something strange. When I delete key assignments via the controls, the next time I start FSX they are all back. This seems to only happen to the Num pad keys that I assign to other things (views, rudder trim). Any suggestions? It's pretty frustrating and I'd appreciate the help!

I'm an FSX supporter, but have looked at X-Plane with just a curious eye. I know it's not prime yet, which is why I was hesitant to drop $60-70 on it. Anyways, I had to pick up some items at my local Office Max and was surprised to see X Plane 10 the Regional version for $29.00 on their shelves. The heck is an office supply store doing selling it?? lol. Anyways, for whatever it's worth, coupled with their SAVE20 discount today, that dropped it down to a no-brainer impulse buy.

I'm loving this bird, but having read the System Manual, I still know nothing of the proper way to fly this bird. We need ASAP the advanced tutorial that was written by a RL Q400 Pilot from your team, it's going to make us appreciate even more this bird. I'd take a Cougar, if I can't find a Panther, but I prefer the Panther since that's what jets were operating from carriers in the 7th fleet when I was in the Navy. Hey, I was advised to install sweetfx onto my system a couple of days ago, and I did. It is a really great program. unfortunately my computer cannot handle it at all, so I dicided to get rid of it. I deleted all the files that were in the sweetfx folder. later I tried restarting FSX and it wouldnt start up. no error messages came up, it just wouldnt start. I had a hunch it had to do with something I deleted, so I reinstalled SweetFX and the problem was fixed. Now the only problem is, that my system cannot handle sweetfx and I need to get rid of it, but I dont know how without causing FSX to not work. Thanks! ~Remy

When FSX loading screen comes up it goes through the sequence and reaches 100%. I can hear the sound of the aircraft but the screens remain black and the 100% window remains in view. If I call up task manager and click on FSX I get all three screens showing but the sound has stopped. This only happens with some aircraft, not all.

Is it possible to get the tutorial flight in a .pdf document instead of html? Enjoying this aircraft very much Thanks

Is there a way of setting up something that gives random failures, but in a way where i'm not having to tell it to do so before each flight? It takes the excitement of a failure away for me when i have to tell the plane that i want it to fail before each flight. I would like something that lets me set something like the percentage likelihood of a failure occuring. At the moment in the iFly all i can do is tell it i want a random, guaranteed failure, which means i know one is coming. Is there an addon or way of letting me set something so there's a chance that 1 in 50 flights there could be an engine fire etc?

I am waiting for the PMDG 777 but I would like to get an opinion if the CaptainSim 777 latest version 1.1 is worth checking out. I saw the videos on YouTube, the cockpit honestly looks like it is made from cardboard. How are the flight dynamics and how are the frame rates? I made a mistake not posting it in FS X Section. I see there is a new FSTramp program in the library. Be advised that I tried a previous version's demo and it screwed up my registry so that I could not use another program I purchased from A2A, so that cost me $20 for nothing. It was impossible to delete the line that FSTramp put in my startup. Buyer beware.

Hello there...after a few days trying to figure it out why my PC was getting hot w/o reason at all...just got to the conclusion than using the Q400...the Core can go up to 90c or even more, i even had to Underclock my PC otherwise it will hit the Temperature Alarm and reset itself. It only happens with the Q400, tried a few addons (PMDG NGX, MD11, 747, QW, etc, etc) and every one of them will stay down to 60c or so. When i choose the Q400, every singe core of my PC (0-1-2-3) goes up to 90c...anyone else getting this strange behavior. Specs if anyone interested. I5 2500k Do you guys know if changing anything on the mjc84.ini could fix this issue?. …
