I was thinking about making a youtube channel, this channel would only be for flightsim (not strictly FSX but that would be the bulk for it) . I was thinking about aircraft review, flights in the aircraft going over systems for people who are interested in the particular aircraft. and maybe some tutorials. I was also thinking about a weekly podcast where me and a few friends would go over new releases, upcoming releases and subjects like that, but we would also just talk and have fun. There might be a few laughs involved too. Overall I think it would be fun but I wanted to hear the simming communities feelings about my idea.

<p>been landing on 09R with the PMDG 747 and 737NGX. I arm the loc and app but it only activates a few nm away then the plane drops like a stone at 3000ftpm! Withe the default scenery it work fine and arms a good distance away. My altitude is 2500ft. Anyone else had similar issues?</p>

Hello all, I'm seriously thinking about buying this aircraft really soon. I have been watching YouTube videos where everyone has been manually inputting flight plans. I was wondering if it's possible to import flight plans? I have FSBuild. Does the Q400 use FSX flight plans or custom? Can FSBuild generated flight plans be imported somehow?

I have the FSUIPC and I understand that you can't have two commands on the same button/keys. I've tried all kinds of combinations with no luck. I made sure things were deleted in FSUIPC and used the trigger button in FSX FOR SLEW ON/OFF, when I go in FSX and pull the trigger the plane pitches over into the ground.I've tried the reverse and deleted the FSX control and used the FSUIPC with no luck. Once again a simple thing and a big problem for me. I've also used key presses. Any ideas?

Hi there, I've just upgraded my GPU card. They're both not top top end, but the new one 'was' top end a few years ago. I've upgraded from a ATI HD 3870 to a HD 4890. Basically the new card has at least twice the horsepower than the older one. However i'm noticing something odd. Whilst the frame rate is predictably UP, the rate at which the auto-gen & terrain textures load is DOWN!? The end result is that i find my self very quickly flying over a 'bald' landscape with fuzzy low res. ground textures, FAR SOONER, than i did with the older weaker card. I have NOT altered any of the in-game settings from how they previously were. Does anybody know what might b…

I quite enjoy entering PAX/cargo/fuel loadouts in the CP prior to starting a flight, but haven't found a way of saving the settings for future use. Is it possible? Adam.

I went to start the default 737-800 and when N2 reached 21-22%, the spooling stopped and the engine did a slow return to 0 percentage. I then noticed that all three fuel cells were showing 0 fuel quantity. No fuel in the tanks whatsoever. The AC cfg file showed the proper fuel quantity settings for the three tanks but the MFD showed they were all empty. The panel is the default FSX 737-800. I then went to the "Fuel & Payload" section under the Aircraft Tab in the Tool Bar and added in appropriate fuel percentages. Engines then fired with out a problem and the MFD showed fuel in each tank. Upon returning to FSX later on (after complete shutdown), I loaded the 737-8…

Hey guys. I have recently installed FSTRAMP which is exactly like FSNAV for FS9 but this one is for FSX. I seem to be getting issues where it shows up properly if in windowed mode but in full screen mode it becomes blank. It's like when any application is on top of fsx in windowed mode the graphics for that app mess up. Like with TOPCAT the drop down button will then not work or drop fully until i move the window out to not be on top of FSX. Even FSTRAMP will never work again even i went back to full screen mode. Hey everyone, I bought the Q400, and although all systems seem to work and I can get it airbone, I'm having 2 additional issues other than the "Q400 bouncing about problem" and the sound fading other people reported. 1 - I can't use the the Q400's control panel. All options under "Calculate", as well as "Send Data to Flight Sim" are unusable. The numbers, as well as the "SUMM" section in the Baggage part all read XXXX and the option to send the data to FSX is greyed out. What could cause this, and more importantly, how can I solve it? 2 - Even on the ground, at cold & dark, the Q400 shows a G rating of +0,5. When my plane ascends, it apparently reaches weightl…

Hi, I've been watching Jon5700's videos on Youtube for a long time, and I have a question- How does he make the videos so silky smooth? Whenever I start recording with FRAPS, my frame rates just go down as fast as a brick falling from the sky. Sometimes I was flying at about 40 FPS on approach and I wanted to record the approach. So I hit the hot key to start recording, and down came the frames. Especially at an ORBX airport in the NGX VC. Could someone please help with this matter? Thanks in advance.

Hi, often, when flying inside a cloud layer, other, more distant cloud layers appear drawn on top of the clouds that I fly through. I realize this is about the drawing order and alpha, but it really looks bad. has anybody experienced this problem, and is there a solution available? I have REX HD cloud textures at 2048x2048 and DXT5 enabled, and FSX running in DX9. Thank you! Mark

Hi Guys, I just bought the dash 8 and installed it into FSX. After opening up FSX and loading a default flight I loaded the dash-8 and it appears with the wheels up, no sound, yoke hard over to the left, and no switches work. Anyone else had similar problems? Cheers Richard

Hello everyone. Im just getting back into FSX after a while away. I would like to get some scenery ( Usa only ) and even then really only interested in east of the Mississippi. I have looked @ some of the commercial options available, I believe one developer has scenery packs for individual states. Mega scenery perhaps. Anyways, my questions are as follows: 1) will any add on scenery, still allow me to also add-on specific airports from developers if available? 2) of the available scenery options out there including payware & freeware ( if any exists ) who will have the best. most detailed, realistic scenery? 3) Are there certain types of scenery i should purpos…

Hey guys, I've recently installed fsx along with a couple of addons that I had purchased previously and everything works O.K except fs limiter which doesn't actually limit the frames. I made ssure that I was using the latest java framework. Nvidia control panel is set to adaptive( half refresh rate , which is 30hz ) and I am using unlimiter FPS on fsx's internal fps limiter. Also, I'm using Mr. Botoje's Vsync fix. Can you help me troubleshoot this ? Hello, I have a problem with approaches in the q400 with the autopilot disconnecting multiple times during the final approach. I set up for the approach with the ILS frequency tuned in nav 1 & 2 and the course set on both sides. I use nav1 on the left & 2 on the right side as the navigation sources. The LOC and GS seem to capture well and the plane follows the glide path. But once or twice every approach the AP disconnects and the plane goes in to Wings Level and Pitch Hold mode. I removed all No Route lines from the FMS flight plan. Does any of you have the same problem or could hand me a possible solution for this? Or is this the normal behavior for the…

I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention this new "mind-blowing" water simulation - http://www.techspot.com/news/52326-watch-this-mind-blowing-water-simulation-is-now-a-reality.html. It would be nice if it could be somehow incorporated into FSX (maybe within DX10 Preview)? Anyway, pretty neat stuff to be able to see huge waves crashing down on the shorelines and probably making it nearly impossible to land an aircraft that normally lands in calm water on a lake depending on the weather. Hi guys, I fly most of my flights (long and medium haul) in more steps, saving FSX situations (generally with PMDG MD11 and NGX). My meteo engine is ASE, and at the beginning of the flight I save either the weather, the .wx file. When I want to reload the flight, I start FSX, load my saved flight and also load saved .wx file in ASE, but I realized that weather is not the same WHEN I saved the flight. Which is your coerrect modus operandi in this situation? I'd like to fly all my route using the day1 saved weather, may I not start ASE or do something else? Many thanks in advance.
