Hi all... I have been discussing this with Majestic directly, and they have been great so far with their prompt replies and assistance... however I am now at a loss as to what might be happening... as are the good folks at Majestic. I figured I would try asking the clever people here to see if there was any ideas out in the community? I'd hate to miss out on this! Here is my issue: When I select the Q400 and my starting airport, once the sim has loaded I end up in the cockpit and the airplane is slowly swaying left and right. I'm looking at aircraft that I have yet to own, and am wondering what the DC9 looks and feels like? For me, simming is all in the VC (especially the night lighting), the wing view (which are fun top look at- let's face it, that's the most familiar view to most of us), the flight model, and the immersion of good sounds. Looking at what I have read on the CS DC9 VC, it sounds like a lot of effort went into it- can anyone comment on their impressions? Thanks, Bruce.

Hello All! I have been tentatively thinking about trying to create a ground poly for an FSX airport, however I am very new. I realize that it is quite an advanced techique, however so far the only major issue I have is with the textures themselves. How are the pictures/textures to make the layers (especially the base markings) attained or made? Thank you for your help. -abasa12

Not too long ago there was a thread about default planes and their worth. Many suggested downloading improved VC, textures and what not to improve them a bunch. For the default FSX planes (I think most were referring to the tubeliners), anyone one have links to exactly what and where these improvements are?

Finally got the dash 8 installed this morning after Majestic's massive activation issues yesterday. I setup my ezdok views in the VC as I always do with all my new aircraft. Immediately, there were issues. To start, I set the captain viewpoint right at the headrest with a clear view over the glare shield and instruments still in view. Randomly during engine startup, the viewpoint would jump up super high or super low so I couldn't even see the runway I started on. Secondly, during flight ezdok's random effect motion generators conflicted badly with what apparently is majestic's own flight motion effects. Even with the ezdok motions disabled, I still got ver…

Seems like each time I load up this plane there is something new and subtle that I hadn't noticed before. The need to use rudder trim while the A/P is engaged is something I have not seen previously on any aircraft but there are a few other simple things that I have noticed too that add quite an affect overall. I use track IR with EzDoc and set up a view which basically looks down at the FMS at an angle that I can see the rudder pedals. While in this view I was programming my route and noticed the rudder pedals shifting into a position that would have resembled a rudder hard over. I currently use ASE and have constant issues with the way the weather and my AI traffic play with each other. I use UT2 for AI and also sometimes use Radar Contact but lately have just been using charts and such flying SIDS/STARS. My question are: 1) WIll OPUS work with Radar Contact ? 2) will my UT2 AI and Opus work with each other or will I still have the problems with AI landing opposite end of the runway ? The only mode in ASE that will guarantee both will work is to use standard mode but we all know what that causes. Thanks !!

I just checked out Aerosofts new German Regional Airports, looks like 5 are included in the package. While I don't regularly fly in Germany I was struck by the fact that they are charging $36 US for the suite of airports. The airport detail seems to be very high, plenty of eye candy, lots of custom objects etc. Recently Orbx has released several smaller local airstrips (in England) using their usual approach and features, also with local custom objects etc. The price for many of these is about $33 US and the most recent dropped to $24. While I greatly appreciate the work that is required to make these airports, custom objects backgrounds etc, I used to keep up …

Hi there, I'm mostly a heavy iron and really small GA flyer, although IRL I'm a low time PPL. Lucky me I have not experienced any of the problems others experienced, and I do feel particularly bad for those who purchased but can't activate. Hang in there, this bird is worth the wait!! I have the FX Tool installed in FSX. I can select an effect to view but when I click on Do Effects nothing happens. How can I visualize the effect? It seems to me that a long time ago I had some way to visualize the effects out of FSX. Is there a way? I have the SDK installed but it does not give the step by step usage of the tool. Thanks, Bob.

Hi all - does anyone know where I can download an FSX Cessna 152 simulator that contains a DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) kit on the instrument panel? Been using JustFlight's which has been great for my needs - until now when I need a DME for practicing instrument approaches for my IMC Rating lessons in the real aircraft. Flight1's FS9 version C152 has one, but it's not compatible with FSX. They do carry a different FSX version, but annoyingly they've gone for the "spartan panel look" that takes the DME away! I have FSX installed on a regular drive and am thinking about getting a 500gb Solid State Drive on which I just want the operating system and FSX. As I have numerous add-ons on FSX I really don't want to reinstall everuthing again on the SSD. Does anyone know a way to transfer FSX with all its add-ons to the new drive in one step? Just been through a new FSX install, and started off with basic visual settings in FSX slider graphics. .. You know the usual max or high cloud coverage with 80mile cloud draw distance, nothing too ambitious. After various iterations of tweaking app crashes and more turning down graphics in fsx, nivida inspector, and managing threads in process laso, etc. I came to conclusion that, the way FSX communicates system resource peaked out is a dll app crash. I reached this conclusion cause i finaly built up the courage to turn ALLL fsx graphics sliders to ZERO!!! and guese what, saved flights that crashed with 100% repeatabitlity on loading now loaded an ran s…

This topic is merely to wonder on what would it be like if current developers were to merge. Just as in the real world with Airlines. Who in the sim world would make a successful merge and who do you think would make a disaster? Perhaps this may never happen; or, perhaps it has already happened with a couple of developers. For example: I wonder what products we would have if Aerosoft and PMDG were to merge. Or CS and Abacus ? And what about VRS and Milviz? Or, REX and Active Sky ? How about FlyTampa and ORBX ... Every time I start FSX, I've been finding that my AI traffic disappears- I finally found out that my FSX.cfg settings were being changed each time I started FSX. My traffic sliders were put at 0, the texture max load was set to 4096, among other settings. Does anyone know of any payware I could have purchased that does this, and what I can do to stop this from happening?

I've always loaded real world weather in the FSX program and would like to know how exactly to load the weather through this program. I have it installed already but need help. I can't seem to find any information online. I do have FSUIPC paid version installed.

So tonight while doing my (now nightly) flight - CYEG YEG V21 EPLUR CYYC, I had everything programming into the FMC nicely, including my VNAV, and had just hit 2 minutes from TOD when my flight plan went all screwy. (I'm sure 'screwy' is the proper terminology.) For this flight I had selected the DUVNO2 star with a RW16 transition, and then also selected the ILS approach into RW16. I'm sure I cleaned up the waypoints properly, it looked like it all made sense and gave me a complete route all the way to RW16. I am always at a loss as to which is the more correct procedure: Start engine(s), boot up avionics as necessary (regardless of airplane) and write flight plan to the GPS (or GNS) unit, proceed with necessary clearances etc OR: Turn on battery, boot up avionics as necessary, write flight plan to GPS (GNS) unit, start and proceed?? I have things configured as necessary such that battery drain is not a real concern.
