So I took the forum's great advice and bought this outstanding planner. However, quick question. How / when does PFPX select the preferred or optimum runway based on weather conditions? I have the weather option turned on and I understand how PFPX planning works. However, at what point does the "automatic selection" occur? Is it when I first enter the airport identifier into the route planner, ie. the first runway option displayed is the preferred one? Greatly appreciated if someone could point it out. Stephen

Well, I have a simple question. Can somebody start a flight at MMUN with the default Cessna and report his/her framerate here? The reason for me asking this: my own setup runs quite stable at 30 frames (give or take a few). Even with the medium to high addon aircraft, my system manages framerates in mid twenties. However, when I use the default airport at Cancun (MMUN) my system grinds to a halt and I see framerates of single digits... And I cannot figure out why... Luc Brusselmans Belgium

I would like to clean the cockpit window reflection of the 172 cessna a2a. Is there someone who already did that job?

Found the C-17 on sale and was thinking of getting it. Anyone own it and can provide some thoughts on it. I realize that Virtavia planes are "light", but was wondering just how light. You know...flight model, navigation, sounds (which are touted as from Turbine studios), etc. Appreciate any feedback.

Well, FSX ATC isn't very exciting to talk to. Once, on approach to KROC, ATC literally flew me across Lake Ontario to Toronto, then asked me to come back. After that, I never used ATC for approaches. Then, today I was in my NGX, and I had an engine failure. I also had some severe avionic issues, but I couldn't tell the ATC that I had an emergency, which bothered me. So the question is, are there any good addons that make the in-game ATC better and make it possible to simulate emergency landings? My regards, Nathan3219

I'm having an problem with the FSX logbook. It's not a major problem but it would be nice that my flights could be recorded in the logbook. Could it be that the file c:\users\MY NAME\appdata\roaming\microsoft\FSX\GrantedRewards.BIN isn't working correct ?

It really is, the picture just isn't clear. I have a hard time especially reading G1000's, RXP guages ect. Everything in FSX is set up properly; ie HD cockpit is checked etc. Im using Steve's DX10 Fixer 4x AA and 4x SSGS in NVI, is there anything I can do to get the picture more crystal clear? Take Care Is it possible my monitor is the problem? I have a crappy 60hz Philips 244E LCD Monitor

Hello, is there any way to bind keys to AP ALT hold increase/decrease as well as SPD hol increase/decrease? On a sidenote, when I hover orver someting in virtual cockpit, it no longer whos what am I pointing at, any way to turn it back on? Thanks

RE: The excellent Baytower VANS RV-7 for FSX I checked In at the BT forum and it doesn't seem to have any activity. At one time Danny said when he got a real job and found some time he would try to come up with an alternate (as in Male) pilot figure. Heidi with the fake ear-to-ear smile is wearing a little thin. The options are no pilot or cheerleader. I sure would like to see some gifted soul come up with an alternate. Regards, Ray

I have some issues with nav lights that are not visible although I can see the reflection on the wingtip. This is happening on different aircraft but not all of them. Strobes are also not visible on these aircraft. Since it's happening on different payware aircraft, I'm assuming that this not an issue with the payware aircraft but some other fsx issue. May also be happening on freeware aircraft that I have but I haven't checked yet as this seems to have started recently. Anybody have any thoughts?

One of the members was asking for info on the Virtavia C-17 Globemaster but he posted it here in the FSX forum and not in the Bargain Basement forum as he should have (new rule for sale priced items). I responded with what I thought of the C-17 that I purchased last year. When I dug out the details I had purchased the Area 51 Simulations edition that I would not recommend to anyone at any price, even free. I do not have any personal knowledge of the Virtavia C-17 Globemaster that he is looking to purchase. Sorry for the confusion. Ray

Very strange issue. I'm getting wrong gpws altitude callouts due to wrong AGL reading. Using MeatWaters gauge on freeware planes or NGX, callouts are wrong. In NGX on ground AGL is 9ft, in QW 757 12ft, and in B747 is about 20ft. Since when FSX is measuring AGL from the position of the cockpit, or maybe aircraft's COG? Now in QW 757 20ft is called just before the touchdown, and in B747 30ft is the last call before the touchdown. I've never had this issue before, always got proper AGL readings on ground, 0ft in any plane, and good gpws callouts. Any ideas? Sent from my U8815 using Tapatalk 2

Hi all, just wondering if any of you have installed this iris f15 upgrade, the installer launches but the directory it comes up with is to install to my main fsx folder & not to my iris f15 folder as I was expecting, have any of you installed this & know where it should be installed to. Hi, I need to update me nav data and I was wondering which one I should go for, navigraphs or aerosofts. I'm also looking for RNP approaches. A few months back when iFly had there big upgrade and changed there Nav source to Aerosoft, they said Aerosoft navdata was the only Nav data that had RNP approaches with RF lags. Is that still true? I've sence moved to The NGX.

I know there are a lot of flying clubs but I cannot find the one I like. Reason is my wishes list. 1-I fly dx10 and the scenery is only megascenery earth. 2-I would like to fly only in multiplayer LAN connection and not via fsinn. 3-I am an european who wants to fly in usa states only so due to time differences should also need an eu server. 4-it is also my wish to fly bushflying. does someone has an idea where to go? thks in advanced duke

I am finally popping for a new unit.If I copy my FSUIPC.ini over will it keep my assignments?I seem to remember one time plugging stuff in to different usb ports and the assignments were all screwed up.If not the assignments will it at least carry over the calibrations?Thanks,Ron

After some thought I've decided to give the Realair Duke V2 the Award for add-on of the year. I know that we are still in October, and who am I to give such an Award, but this bird has everything I look for in an FSX addon: Great visuals! Amazing realism! Plane feels real! The lighting is fantastic. Several beautiful looking liveries! Easy GNS 530 & 430 integration! Outstanding developer support! and the upgrade price was a steal. I honestly never thought that the Lancair could ever be replaced as my favorite GA. Thank you Realair and I'm looking forward to your 172N.

Hello all! I'm in a bit of a pickle with my FSX, I usually use "CTRL + _ + " to zoom in and out of my aircraft in spot mode, however I hit a button that freezes my free pan view... You know when you hit the space bar and move your mouse it pans around. I cannot figure it out for the life of me, has anyone else experienced this before? If so please provide input! Thanks, Ryan
