Hi I need more realistic & advanced engine start up sound to add it to both PMDG 747 & MD-11.

I'm soon going to buy the 777 and want to do some routes that cross the Atlantic, however, it's not fun preparing the transatlantic radio operations check sheet if there isnt going to be a controller on . That's why I only fly the cross the pond events, however, whats your experience? I looked on Vattastic and both oceanic controllers are on, which to be is a bit odd considering i never see them online besides during events...

I've really been enjoying getting back into flight simming, but, there is one thing that bugs me. I have all my Saitek stuff hooked up and setup. I've got toe brakes setup on my rudder pedals...;but, every time I use the differential brakes the parking brake is also applied. I can't figure it out. There is no entry on the parking brake that includes the rudder toe brakes. This makes it very difficult to taxi...almost impossible. Anyone had this problem and solved it?...PLEASE! Leafhopper

Is there a freeware or payware airport chart viewer that will show the taxiways with the ID's. I have tried several and never got them to work. Thanks. Bob.

It's friday and time to take to the virtual skies again! To share some inspiration among community members I'd like everyone to share their flightplans for the weekend. My flightplans: I'm going to fly around FTX Global Iceland demo in the RealAir Duke v2. Other than that I'm doing some more work on the FS KBT P-3 Orion flight model and continue on my RNoAF repaint for it. Naturally I'll be doing all the flight testing from Keflavik in Iceland - a former P-3 Orion hotspot! Have a great weekend everybody!

I wonder if there is any benefit in performance, graphics etc when using dx10?

Hello simmers I have PFPX using it with the REX with REX weather engine (to online weather). I need to know the degree of the HEAD WIND (nose wind direction). -Does the PFPX giving the HEAD WIND in the information of the flight route automatically, or the REX weather engine provide it ? - i need to know it to put the it in the FMC takeoff page importantly ? Okay, so I'm getting all set up with FSX and FS9 (after many years of absence). I really like the old piston prop planes like those of 20's through the end of WWII. Is there anyone making FSX high quality oldie moldies? I do have alabeo's Waco and Staggerwing, a very nice start. But I would like to have a Cessna Bobcat, a Beech Super 18, Cessna 310, and a Stearman. I am awaiting the release of the freeware DC3 that looks fantastic! Hello I have FSX gold running on XP. It is running fine,but i did notice today when i looked in the Cfg file that the graphics card shown says a nVidia GFX 280 whereas the card in the machine is a GFX 560Ti. I find this strange . Is there an explanation please? I have a backup of the cfg file .

Greetings, First & foremost, this is an excellent setup. My question is i do have a Creative X-Fi sound card installed on my PC and having a separate USB creative sound card as mentioned, would it conflict with my existing sound card? I do understand that the Buttkicker is supposed to be connected to the sub woofer thus creating the rumble but will it also gives the same or better effect when connected to the external USB sound card? I have connected another monitor to use with FSX. I have made my main monitor (the one I was using so far the main display). In the display settings of win 7 , in the Multiple Displays settings I have selected " Extend these display" Now on my main display I can see all the desktop items (as it was before) and in the second display I just see the windows logo. Now when I start FSX it does not shown on the main display but on the secondary display and the mouse pointer is shown in the secondary diplay. Why is that? what am I doing wrong? Because I want FSX to be shown on my main display and on the secondary display to show other views of FSX. stelios

Hey guys i just got my brand new power computer well so i would hope, and i bought flight simulator fsx gold edition. it comes with three cds, 2 delux and one acceleration expansion pack but no instructions how to install the acceleration expansion pack. i know disk 1 goes in first then disk 2. should i install the expansion pack right after? because this is a new system and i wanna make sure everything runs smooth the first time so i dont have to be uninstalling and installing all the time, thanks please help. will greatly appreciate it! i check all over the forums and just could not find my answer. the os the new computer is running on is windows 8.1 64 bit, Dil…

I am in the process of developing with ADE from the FSX stock EDDC airport a new one to comply with the latest Jepperson Files and AIRAC. I see from the Runway Properties in ADE that the Heading (from Base End) is 40.87 True and the ILS Properties for 04 is 40.87 True and for 22 is 220.87 True. In the Jepperson Charts, and I presume also in the latest AIRAC these headings are for RWY04 39 Degrees and for RWY22 219 Degrees. My question is:- should I change these headings from those quoted in the stock airport to those indicated in the Jepperson Charts and also what is the difference between True and Magnetic headings and what, if any, part do they play in FSX. Hi All, I also enjoy flying Opus and Rex Ess OD together, but I was curious - how are most simmers setting the REX ESS OD Configuration Manager for use with Opus? I've disabled all of the REX Weather Engine settings which seems to provide the proper operations. That may be all that is needed - I'm just curious if other folks are setting these differently. I've researched the FAQ written for Opus http://forum.avsim.net/topic/396956-faq/ and the Opus and REX websites. So far, I haven't seen anything specifically on the REX Config Mgr "General Weather Engine" settngs. I'm not really concerned about the Winds, Clouds, or the other Config Mgr. settings since th…

I figured out how to edit all the CTAF phrases in FSX to repeat the airport name at the end of the transmission ex: "Lincoln Park Traffic, N727DS is clear of the runway, Lincoln Park". Given that this is supposed to be the standard way to speak on a CTAF (for a while, as far as I know) I did a search of the AVSIM and flightsim.com libraries but couldn't find any voicepack mods that covered this. I was surprised, to say the least. I've just installed FSX after having been away from FS (9) and (X) for several years. I have a new computer with: Intel I7-4770K 3.5 ghz (liquid cooled) 8 gig ram 120 GB Samsung SSD for operating system WD 500 GB Caviar Black for the E drive (dedicated to all things FS) Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 2GB Win 7 Home Premium 750 watt Corsair RM750 PSU CPU was 10% overclocked but for some reason the overclocking was lost when the computer was in sleep mode and then wakened. I was reading another thread about the release of the DC-8 by Just Flight. I really like the oldies, like the Boeing 707 727 DC-9/Coolsky etc. For those who recently purchased the DC-8 give me a few positives about the dc-8. I understandstand it does not have the complexity of a PMDG, but how does it perform,in fsx. Do you get a smooth flight ? Are frame rates fluctuating ? What are your opinions graphically ? How is the VC ? Finally overall how would you evaluate this product. I want to spend my money wisely, recently purchased the PMDG T7, and Realair Duke V2. I have been using FSX for years but recently developed a frustrating problem. During a flight FSX pauses and minimizes to the task bar at seemingly random intervals. I can restart the flight again with no corruption to any settings etc. I've disabled any software that may access the internet routinely such as Gmail downloader etc. Such items never caused a problem before but for research I've disabled them anyway. Unfortunately, this hasn't solved my problem. I've also ran apps in the background to monitor CPU and GPU temps..........again nothing that would indicate a reason for minimizing randomly. Is it possible to search in the event viewer (W7) or anywhere else …

Greetings all, I finally purchased the Q400 today, and am currently moving the docs to my iPad. Everything from the document index of the program seems to be available in PDF format except for the sample flight (Downsview to Trudeau). Are there any plans to do so? Hi guys, I got a problem with my FSX installation. I really like the possibility to look at the flight analysis and check after a flight how good I tracked the radials and so on. Somehow its no longer working. When I open the page the small Aircraft symbol is moving along the flown path, but it is not "drawing" the little Line anymore. While that may seem strange enough, the line is still being drawn on the "vertical map" below the regular map. I can see if I held my altitude correctly, but I cant see if I tracked a course right. Is this error known? Are there other programs I can use to debrief myself in a similar fashion? I know some logging programs that disp…

I've been trying to tweak my computer to get decent results. I have miserable frame rates. At addon airports like kiad I will have frame rates of around 6-12 and that is without traffic added in! When I get up to cruise I will get frame rates of mid to high 20s. This was with pmdg 777. Inside the cockpit my frame rates were 7-10. My computer specs are as follows and I wonder if tweaks will even be able to fix my problems. I notice shimmering edges around the back of my plane engines or along the wing, I also notice the same type of shimmer in pay airports along some the runway lines. I am running windows 7 64 bit.
