Hello, I have been using OPUS for quite some time now and I have been really happy with it. However, at some point recently the weather engine has stopped show upper and lower atmosphere weather reports and the winds aloft are completely wrong. Right now I am flying east over the southern United States at FL330 and I am getting winds at 060 40kt. Well that's pretty much the exact opposite of the current conditions in that area at that altitude. I have only recently been having this problem; before the winds aloft were always satisfactory. I am using the current release version in FSX Acceleration.

Hello Avsim Community!!! So here's my problem. When I fly with ACARS for AAvirtual my simulator will sometimes just crash. No warning no message, just crash. Right before that crash ACARS will say "Lost connection to FSUIPC" or something like that. ACARS will NOT crash and will work perfectly. Then right after that FSX crashes. Greetings; Quick question re: clouds and the timing of weather updates. If the update is set to 30 minutes, do the clouds change based on the current update as you progress through your flight, or do they remain more or less the same until the next update occurs? I realize it depends on the METAR, but if the METAR is variable will you see changes. Thank you, WilloW

I've noticed various single and twin props I have use differing procedures for leaning. What determines how to lean? Does it depend on fuel injection or carb? Or turbocharged or not? Also for both procedures do I lean 100 degrees from peak or 50 or what number do the pilots use?

I just got my Thai Creations Navi Mumbai Airport for FSX, and I have an issue! My AI traffic has disappeared! When I right click and go to "Air Traffic > " there is a whole list of planes, but when I click on one, they are not there! How can I fix this bug? Thanks!

I assume this is not a hardware related question, because I am almost certain that my hardware is sufficient. I have been playing a lot of DCS lately, and since the release of the PMDG 777, I have decided to install FSX again. I purchased PMDG 777 and also the VRS F/A-18E including the TacPack. Only problem is that since i started playing, even after using a tweak guide that Froogle referred to, I am getting about 11 FPS at low altitudes. Settings are not maxed out. Hi all my FSX works fine but this happens: before or during my flight I select in the otions' the virtual cockpit with high resolution', I do my flight and then I close fsx. When i run again fsx instead of the aircraft I see a black screen. Trying to load the flight, black screen again. Every time i have to rewrite cfg file wiyh my backup copy to let fsx run again. Don't know why this issue thanks to anyone can help

I was hoping that when I decided to reinstall FSX on to my computer, that the problem with the lights at Imagine Sim's LaGuardia would go away. I know that the addon had a problem with the runway lights due to using it with FSX Acceleration, so I went ahead and did a complete reinstall of FSX withe the Deluxe Edition. Believe me, there are no old files any where on my hard drives. All I use this computer is for FSX, so I did a complete installation of the operating system and all. Hi All I'm trying to save a flight on short final so that I can practice disengaging the auto pilot at around 1000 ft AGL and practice putting the NGX down manually. I set up a flight, established on the localiser and glideslope on an ILS approach at around 6 miles from the airport, and then saved the flight. But when I reload the flight, I have to wait 20 secs for the NGX to become responsive and then it exhibits all kinds of strange behaviour, the first time I did it it veered some way off of the localiser course and then wanted to nose dive and picked up so much speed that I couldn't consider landing (ended up at around 250kt!) Hello all, like it says on the title i'm getting random FPS spikes. It all started when i got the Quality wings BAe 146. I loaded up at EGLC (London City) and noticed my FPS going from 30 down to 1 or 2 every 5 seconds. I deleted my config file and started a new one which didnt fix the problem. I then uninstalled the plane and problem fixed. Today, i installed FSdreamteam O'Hare and i'm getting the same thing! Except this time I don't have the plane installed. I'm getting 30 fps the it drops down randomly for no reason. What can I do to fix this?

I'm new to FSX. Why can't I change the heading with my stick when I only have AP and ALT selected in the autopilot? I can only solve this problem by quickly clicking the HDG button on and off, after that I can freely control the heading with my stick.

I enjoy flying jets and mostly fly pmdg 737ngx and 777. I was wondering what the value of topcat is. I own pfpx and love using it for flight planning. However, I am wondering what topcat would add to my experience if anything. I have watched some videos on it and other than giving a few values to enter into the fmc I am not sure how the information would actually impact my flight. For example, if I click for a derated takeoff with topcat I could enter the temperature. How does that affect my flight?

Not sure if a thread like this already exists, but I thought it might be interesting to see some videos posted here in the forums instead of just in Youtube which highlights interesting aspects of FSX: Post video links of tricks / landings / effects / airports / new add-ons, etc... I find that on Youtube searching does not always bring things up correctly and sometimes the videos are too long, so how about short videos like 2 mins or less that highlight interesting things to do in FSX? This is just like your favorite airport thread. What is your favorite plane in fsx and why? Can be payware/free/jet/prop, anything. You can list other planes you own to put it into context, but please only pick one plane has your absolute favorite. My current favorite is the pmdg 737-800 ngx. I like jets in general and love the realism of it, that its very interactive and its range fits nicely into a lot of the flights I make. I also enjoy the pmdg 777, the majestic dash 8 and the realair legacy.

Need some help, reinstalled FSX and installed Aerosoft New Orleans scenery. Worked before, but now the default scenery show throught. Any help would be great (I've tried everything I can think of.)

I spent a couple of hours learning default FA-18 by following the PDF manual, but cannot complete a ILS approach. Finally I found out the problem: (Dont know how to upload the images.) e.g: 1. press ILS button, dial 1-1-0-3-0, enter.(TACAN coded '39'). No showing ils signal. 2. switch to C172, on NAV1 it was 110.29, weird aha? Correct it to 110.30. 3. Return back into FA18 cockpit, ILS signal showed correctly.(TACAN coded '40'). Tried different runways in various airport, still the same problem. I googled very hard but no same issue. Anyone could have a workround or just enlighten me?
