Hello fellow Dash8 drivers, Since about a week I'm the proud owner of this fantastic aircraft and I'm gradually getting acquainted with it. Quite a learning curve I must say, if you're used to fly the PMDG 737 or the Airbus Extended. So for the time being I'm doing lots of circuit flying. What I find particularly difficult is managing the airspeed on final approach. Finding the 'sweet spot' wiith the throttle lever on my Logitech Extreme 3D, in order to hold the desired speed of e.g. 127 kts is not easy (to put it mildly) as the speed tends either to increase or decrease. I found the various updates to navaids and magnetic variance at http://www.aero.sors.fr/index.html that I've seen linked around here, but I've been scared off of updating with them after reading that they can't update navaids coded in airport bgls, that I could see duplicate intersections/navaids on the map in FSX, etc. I was hoping to update FSX to more accurately match the navaid data used in my payware planes, but not if it's going to cause me problems in the sim. Can someone shed some light on these issues they're talking about? Is it really that bad? Or will I never notice any potential issues most of the time?

hi all. so simply iv installed fsx sp1 no issues. when it comes to sp2 however it says my fsx needs to be in english. i can be very sure it is as im english and iv installed the game in english. i get this eroor shown in this image. also iv checked the microsoft site about the issue and it says to change the regedit file value. already done that still not working. alex billington

I didn't know they were doing one (or I forgot hehe) Looks pretty decent, but modeling seems about the same as the older Lancair IVP. The avionics do look real nice though. If the price is right I'll probably get it. I downloaded windows 8.1 official update today. The only thing I had to do was to update my nvidia video driver to 8.1. I did a short test flight from KSEA-CYVR with no problems. With addons: Aerosoft Airbus X A320/321 FSDreamteam CYVR

In FS9, the Bill Lyons J3-Cub has no problems. The only problem I have in FSX is that with the exception of the trailing edge with the control services, the wing is transparent, virtually non existent. I have tried about everything I can think of with no success toward a reason or solution. Note that the clip wing livery does not have this problem and the texture is full and complete. All yellow versions in the package are missing those textures. Has anyone else seen this issue and possibly knows a solution. Outside of this, the bird is excellent in both simulators. Nice addon this. I am using it with the TDS b787. But can anyone say, why when I have entered cruise altitude then select Calc Vnav and EXEC, all my airspeeds are still blank. The flight plan looks OK otherwise, but the entries are all like this: ---/FL290; ---/FL390 and so on. I have to add the airspeeds manually for each waypoint to get VNAV to operate correctly. The guide says they will be calculated automatically. Thanks, Martin

Hi all, I've just recently installed FSX after using most of the previous versions of FS; however, I've run into a problem I've never experienced before. When I went to KATL I noticed their were no terminal buildings - there were many planes, jetways, vehicles, etc. Thinking it was due to the complexity of that AP I checked other busy fields including KMIA, KJFK and KCLT - all showed their terminal buildings. I did notice that KORD and KDFW were also missing their terminal buildings. I've tried all kinds of tweeking including turning autogen all the way down but without success. I've had NO issues with the performance of the program including bad framerates, if so…

It's still peak foliage season in northern/northwestern NY where I'm flying but at the start of October all the trees lose their leaves regardless of where I am located it seems. So right now I'm flying with the date always set to Sept 30th to get the foliage but I would prefer if possible to fly with the proper date to get the proper sun position and all that. Is there a way to make FSX display fall colors in October?

Hey guys, I've recently managed to solve a CTD problem I'd had for years with FSX, enabling me to play the sim properly for the first time since I bought the sim for £60 7 years ago!!! I won't bore you but the fix involved running the sim in windowed mode which also made the sim run as smooth as butter, which was a pleasant surprise for me and my i7. So anyways, With this new stability I am now able to explore ENB to its full potential, but now I am experiencing lower FPS again :( Specifically it's the bloom function that's causing FPS problems. I'm the type of guy who will purchase any FSX aircraft that has had the least little bit of positive hype before its release, or good to great reviews after its release. As a result, I have quite a few aircraft that are in my hangar. Unfortunately some have been flown very little or not at all. I like them all. Tubeliners, turboprops, twins, singles, GA, IFR, I really enjoy them all. I am very happy with the performance of my computer running FSX, and have many, many sceneries to fly to and from. Hello I am a frequent flyer in fsx dx10 but I would like to fly helicopters now. I was looking for a flying club and found hovercontrol. But they dont react on my email. they say they would sent a confirmation but after 5 days it is not still there. So does someone know another club?

Hi all I´ve got a question. It seems nobody has thought about this or is interested as I can´t find a single topic about this anywhere ... so here goes ... My goal is take make a dual pilot home cockpit..so to say. Not a complicated one, just basic/inexpensive setup for two pilots as I want to be able to practice MCC with a friend. I can setup two yokes/pedals etc ...two monitors (captain and first officers panels) ...even two mice pointers working on same computer (I found a program to do that). Dear all, I purchased a new Saitek flight yoke but have found that once the plane has lift-off from the ground, the V/S increases so high that in order to have a normal climb, I need to have the yoke nearly pointed downwards. Does anyone know why this? Is there anyway to calibrate it so this does not occur?

Hi All, I've just purchased FTX Global, and whilst I absolutely love the view from low down, from any great height (I'd say from around FL100 upwards) everything still looks rather...samey. Just row after row of the same scenery, which is what I thought FTX Global was supposed to sort out? Maybe something is wrong for me but that's how it looks... If this is the way FTX global is meant to be, is there any way of improving the scenery from high altitude? I'd happily pay for something, but freeware would be a bonus! But also is there anything that doesn't have a massive impact on frames? Many thanks,

Good day fellow simmers, and to any fellow Canadians on here, happy thanksgiving ^_^ If you look at my computer specs to the side, you surely won't be impressed. I usually have scenery complexity down to dense and autogen at normal. I'm forced to run FSX on a laptop for now and the foreseeable future. As such I want to gain as many frames as possible. I've heard that GEX can, in a lot of cases, help improve the smoothness and/or fps in the sim ever so slightly. In that sense, GEX looks like a must-buy. However after reading a bit I've been eyeing up FTX Global. The night lights *supposedly* have no FPS impact and look absolutely stunning (I like flying at night so th…

Or any other high altitude aircraft has nothing to do with the aircraft themselves, but for me is the terrible flicker I get where clouds meet mountains. I'm on my way right now from PAJN to PANC, and looking down from Fl380 the whole landscape below is just a big flicker fest, again where the clouds meet the mountain bases. I have both Opus and Active Sky 2012. Does anyone have any solutions I might try? I always end up just shelving these great jets in frustration and going back to GA low and slow, but this T7 is so nice I've decided its time to reach out for a possible solution, and see how others cope. Thanks in advance for any advice! Chris
