I notice in my users/username/mydocuments/flightsimulatorxfiles directory that my saved flights are made up of 3 files with .flt .wx and fssave extensions. I'm curious as to why the 3 different files types and their purpose?

Hey guys, I just bought and installed the PMDG 777, and i started up fsx immediately to test it, but non of the buttons on my joystick work in the 777. Have any of you had the same problem and have a solution? And one more thing, i downloaded the paintkit, and i was just wondering, how do you painters paint the tail? Thanks, Kim.

Seems this addon changes a bunch airports a bit. Some for the better and others definitely worse with missing objects and missing taxiways. Not sure if the AI benefits are worth the rearrangement of the airports. Most of you leave this activated in the Scenery Library?

Hi, new to all this and i did search for answer Default FSX Gold. Have issue with G1000 in both aircraft. It appears only the inner knob on the right works. I cannot move the cursor, which is apparently controlled by the outer knob. So if i hit PROC, Select Approach, ENT that's as far as i can go. Any ideas on what im doing wrong? Cheers, Wayne

Two things. 1. Will we be able to see the site effects as a list to see each site? Not just a list of airports that have the effects-get my meaning? 2. "HKIA Hong Kong (China)" I hope that this is not how opus is seeing hong kong or else there will be no effect right?

Hi,I appear to be missing an option in the Realism Settings screen within FSX. I don't have the option for "Engine stress damages engine" under the Engines section. I'm running FSX with both SP1 and SP2 installed (not acceleration)Any ideas why I'm missing this option? Help would be greatly appreciated!ThanksRob

I have few questions related to scoring system. - if the taxing is long (over 10 minutes), is it mandatory to announce a slow airport operations at the moment? Is that announcement good for long taxing or when you are waiting long for takeoff clearance? - how the captain can do a safety briefing? I saw a WAV file of captain's safety breifeng, but FA always do safety briefings. - I always announce landings circa 10 minutes before, at the start of vector approach. If I forget to announce landing, does that impact the scoring? - also if my flight is 10-15 minutes late because of busy airspace or ATC, I must announce that or it will have an impact to final sco…

How do I get rid of those ugly visibility layers? I got rid of them when I switched from REX to Opus weather, but when I started using FSGRW they came back and haunted me :wacko:

Hello, I just bought some dirt cheap samsung syncmaster 151s and I wanna use it for different gauges and things like the radio stack etc.. simply so that I can use my main screen for otuside view only. My main screen is 1366x768, the samsung syncmaster is 1024*768. How would I go about this? Do I have to worry about drastic performance decrease even if I display ONLY gauges and different panels in 2D and on the syncmaster the outside view on my main monitor? Thanks

If the package is only the airport that should be charged no more than EUR 17 + VAT, look at all Aerosoft stuff. The Mexico City Xtreme, with both the airport and the city, costs only EUR 26 + VAT. As the title suggests is it or would it ever be possible for lighting at airports to light up aircraft on the apron, stands etc? It's a shame when you look from an external view and see dark shapes of wings and fuselages.

After finally building a monster computer that brought FSX to it's knees (i7 4770k/GTX Titan), I am buying a lot of add ons. Right now I am looking for a program that will allow me to see charts while in FSX flying the plane. Is there such a program and if so what is it called? I am also struggling to find the best program for charts/plates. What do you guys use and how does it all work out for you? Cheers

Hi all, I am about to write some words and would be happy if you comment, either positive or negative or leave it, as you wish. I am with the flightsimulator world for several years, started off back in the nineties with FS 5.1. Now, after updating my rig consequently, I decided to finally put away FS9 and give FSX a chance. I do not look back, switching back to FS9 is no option for me anymore. But still I am not happy with my FS experience those days. If I fly, I always find room for improvements, there is always something that somehow does not completely fullfill my needs, even if its only a missing AI paint or a little glitch in a scenery. Like this, I keep playing…

Hi all When AI aircraft (AIA, TFS etc.) are used as AI, on landing and engaging reverse thrust, it is animated. However if I fly these myself, when I engage reverse thrust, it is not animated. So, my questions are: 1. Why? 2. How do you fix it? Obviously it is something in either the .air or the . cfg files. Thanks

So I have been very interested in doing aerobatics, but I have seen an Extra 300 roll REALLY fast to the right and instantly turn to the left. But in FSX when I try to do that it just keeps rolling for a split second. For example: When you do 10 rolls in an Extra 300, Edge 540, MXS-RH or whatever, and you center the controls, you will instantly stop. In FSX I try that and 1. The rollrate of the Extra 300 is WAY too slow in comparison to the real one and 2. When I center the controls, it keeps rolling for a second more, sometimes even when I apply opposite aileron. Hello guys! My problem is that after a re-installation of FSX and PMDG the virtual cockpit cannot show.It starts as default the 2D cockpit and from menu bar cannot switch into 3D. Also the setting is default 3D cockpit.Whats wrong?
