Does anyone else feel like were at a crossroads, and undecided on what route to take? I'm stuck at the crossroads! I have FSX DX10 I have Xplane 10.25 And I have Prepar3d v2.0 Now they are all good. I just don't know what one to stick with for my main install and sim! Seems like the next 3 months will decide, what with prepared 2.1, xplane 10.30 coming out..... Anyone else in the same boat? Hi, I have a clean windows7 installation and a fresh FSX. I have tried to reinstall Opus, I have obtained a new Flight1 key which is in its own folder on a separate drive. The main Opus folder that I created is on a different drive and I named the folder 'OpusFsx' and I have installed Opus in that. Now when I try to start the Opus server it does not start, I get a message saying Opus has stopped working. I have checked that the exe and dll files have the same date. What have I done wrong? Hi Opus, I have looked through the forums here and on F1 and did not see this issue raised although I may have overlooked it. My problem occurs in FSX as well as PVD V2 and even 1.4. I start the sim and then Track IR 5 then I start Opus weather. Everything loads and when I start to use TrackIr, usually when I start the taxi, I center TrackIR and then usually a short while later I will lose TrackIR as I notice one of TrackIR 's leds goes dark. I try restarting Track IR to no avail. I have reinstalled TrackIR to no avail. The only way I can keep TrackIR running with the sim is to not start Opus. This is done with reconfiguring the manifests of course. Any help or suggestion…

After adjustments to my Radeon HD 5850 GPU in Catalyst Control Center/ AMD Overdrive, I am receiving the attached messages. They pop up after about half hour after starting FSX/Acceleration. I really want to avoid a reinstall as it was running beautifully. I have the original DVD's and product key's on hand. Any help will be most welcome.

Hi everyone, I can't figure out how to get proper turbulence in FSX with Opus. It might just be me, but I always feel like my aircraft is way more stable than it should be. I release the yoke and it's barely going off the path. Even in bad weather is still pretty stable. I have all smoothing options disabled in Opus, GRIB disabled, turbulence and variance smoothing disabled in FSUIPC, "Disable turbulence effects on aircraft" in FSX is unchecked. I read the manual it says something about turbulence effects and DHM. I am getting confused here. When I enable these DHM effects, it will only effect the position of the eyepoint rather than the aircraft itself, right? I am us…

I don't know if this has ever been covered (Google and a forum search told me otherwise though), so in the worst case take it as a reminder or flame me for posting already known stuff. Anyway, did you know the you can easily run FSX in multiple configurations? All it takes is copying the FSX.exe and naming the copy, I don't know, FSX_Airliner.exe or so. FSX will then generate a fresh fsx_airliner.cfg in the configuration folder. Tweak fsx_airliner.cfg for flying airliners (no autogen, LOD_RADIUS=200000000000, no loaded helicopters or whatever). Finally, just create a short cut to FSX_Airliner.exe and that's it. You can do this for every scenario imaginable,…

I'm running Ultimate Traffic 2 at modest settings and want to view individual liveries ingame. However, the AI Traffic list, available either via the dropdown menu or the right-click menu, runs downwards out of view because of its length at big airports. Is there a way to see the entire list ingame? I feel as though I'm missing something obvious....thanks!

I bought this over the Black Friday shopping frenzy, and I have installed it in both FSX and P3D. I am having a few issues with the FSX edition. First, all of the bridges seem to be missing. The lights are still there, they are just sitting in the air. Second, there are no new buildings north of the center of Central Park. Is that normal? If anyone else has heard of these problems, let me know. I have deleted and erased several times, so it isn't a single bad install issue. Thanks, Bill

I'm getting into flight planning with the Dash 8 and have been having problems with VNAV. In going through the sample flight and everything goes well until I set up the VNAV for descent. I set the flight up per the instructions, get to cruising altitude, go to VNAV in the FMS, hit TO (on the left side), select HABBS, hit enter multiple times until it sets the VNAV and I get a message saying VNAV is disconnected. I hit RTRN and the VNAV screen shows my distance and time from HABBS at this point. I set the new altitude to 3000, hit alt sel, wait for the magenta V to come up on the altitude tape (2 minutes out from TOD), and I select VNAV from the AFCS. I wait for t…

Hi gents, this is a purely cosmetical request, but: is it possible to change the appearance of the frame (stuff around the screen) of the default FSX GNS500 2D popup unit? Specific reason for asking is the RealAir Duke: I don't own the RealityXP Garmin stuff (way too expensive), and the default Garmin units work ok for that airplane - but the default looks of the 2D popup of the 500 is so butt ugly, it really does the airplane no credit. So I'm wondering whether it's possible to change that? Is there a skin available maybe, or something?

Hey all, We've had so many great add-ons released over the last year, and some releases quite close together, which meant for me at least, that some brilliant new aircraft really haven't had the attention they deserve. The biggest example of this for me, is the Aerosoft Twin Otter X Extended - it is a fantastic addon, flies beautifully, looks great, excellent performance, etc... but I just haven't had the time to fly it. So............. Can anyone tell recommend any real world operations and routes for this aircraft, that I can simulate ? Thanks in advance!

Sorry Guy's if this is wrong place to post this question, but I'm new to this forum. I just recently opened my FSX program, after a six month leave. Created a short flt and when I switch from virtual cockpit mode to full cockpit mode, the panel is transparent. You can see the runway/scenery etc. right through the panel. Never happened before. How do I correct? Sorry if this isn't the right place for the post, if not steer me in the right direction.

Stephen - If I wanted to run OpusFSX on a client PC to lower the load on the PC I have FSX installed, can I still use TrackIR?

So after finding out which add-on was causing my issue of course it would be the one that was helping me the most haha. I was using a follow me car add-on that would basically bring your plane to a runway. This was quite helpful for me since I don't have the big airports memorized as far as taxiways go. Since that one obviously didn't work for me are there any other type of taxi programs out there? I know FSX has progressive taxi but I can't use that while I am using RC4.

I just wanted to post a heads up on Vatsim's EU Divisions big event, "VATEUD Full Coverage". Tonight from 1800z to 2200z the european division of vatsim is aiming for full ATC coverage for the entire EU region. When they say full coverage they mean at least one center, one approach and one tower in each country. Hye guys, I just entered my key and it's not working, I click activate by phone but than got an error. Anyways, does MS still reactivate FSX or what do I do, I just don't want to wait on the phone for 3 hrs to find out I have to buy a new copy of FSX. Cheers!

Hi Guys: Simmer Bob Familton just brought this to my attention as we both just purchased this airport. When selecting either runway heading (9 or 27) for a starting point, instead of a gate assignment, the aircraft is being placed at the holding point for the selected runway, instead of ON the runway as FSX normally does it.. Personally, I like this feature and we are wondering where the change to over ride the default selection is made and if it could be applied to other FSX airports? Thanks Chris

Hi guys quick question I have downloaded and installed an AI aircraft that installed and running fine,the aircraft came with additional lightmap files in a separate texture folder ,the files in this folder are named exactly the same as in the main texture folder but are much smaller in size, what am I supposed to do with these files so that I can get the tails lit up at night thanks

I see no movement in the VC like my EzDok setup, what's wrong? isn't DHM enabled by default? I click on all the right settings but still no movement :wacko: :(

I'm looking at several military jets, and in the process of scanning Youtube for videos of F-111 sims, I just happened to notice that this particular model ("F-111 for FSX") was released only a few weeks ago. Has anyone here had any experience with it? It seems we now have (at least) three F-111 payware add-on choices for FSX. The exhaust flame effects with this one on Youtube are impressive, and the interior and exterior visual detail seem to be of pretty high quality from the pics and Youtube videos. But I see very, very few reviews, and I don't want to be find out the hard way whether there are a lot of unresolved issues.

Hi everyone. Wanting to make the experience even more realistic, I downloaded the austrian_airlines_b777_fsx with a pretty elaborate FMS within the package. I reviewed the instructions on how to use the FMS (nicely explained in a PDF format), but I fail to be able to enter data onto the scratch pad. I know where it is located and what is its purpose but I do not know what button I have to push first in order to get the blinking prompt active. Thanks for your expertise, as usual. Cheers, Benoit
