it does not happen with FSX, only with P3D any ideas on how to fix this ?

I have an icon on my desktop, but it's not in the drop down menu in FSX.

Hi All---Happy Thanksgiving, I am going crazy with this problem---!!! I have been working on my sim to set up and fly super nice Virtual Airline flights on the West Coast using Shade, and Mega Scenery 2.0, and PMDG NGX 737's and RC, and REX, and my virtual Airline ACARS--when I get this all set up and ready to fly my Joystick disconnects and only the mouse shows up when I go to the FSX controls page---I thought it was my Saitek X-52 so I bought a new Logitech Pro, but the same problem still exists.---so depressing and cannot find any help anywhere on the net---anybody have an answer to this issue? First, let me apologize, because I'm sure that this has been asked and answered, but I can't find it. And I know that all comparisons are imprecise. I currently have an i7 2600k. How much of a frame rate boost would I see in FSX by upgrading to a 4770 or 4820? I realize that no one can answer that with any precision, but I would just like to have a "feel" for what I might expect to see. I am currently running a GTX 570 as my video card, if that makes any difference. Thanks!

my mb is a gigabyte ga-x58a-ud7 with i7 970 cpu i want to change my gtx560ti card for the gtx 770 4 g apart from the length would it be compatible with my board my next query is the pricing i see this has been raised in another post. i have checked most of the 4gb cards the price range is terrific, dealer A,cost £283 dealer B cost £378 on offer. this was like for like on a gigabyte card. seemingly the price does not indicate a better card.i will be most grateful for any help in making a choice may i also wish the avsim staff and all my readers a very happy christmas f cann

How does the OPUS Cameras compare to the EZDOC Cameras?

I have a couple of weather engines that I use namely Opus and FSGW. However when flying at say 35000 and the various weather reports tell me that the weather below states overcast at say 3000 feet all I see is the clear land below with no weather graphics which is not what you would see in real life. When flying at cruising altitude any clouds at say 25000 feet and above are visible but it is the non visibility of the lower clouds which concerns me. I am therefore wondering whether or not this is an FSX problem or maybe something alse. Any advice/assistance would be appreciated. Michael

I don't know if this has been asked before, but is there a good place to check which international airports around the world have been built since FSX was released six years ago? The reason I ask is that I've been doing some long-haul on the PMDG MD-11X reproducing UPS and FedEx flights and when I'm about to land in some airports like Bangalore (VOBL), there is nowhere to land, despite having all the navdata from Naigraph. I've downloaded freeware of newer airports, such as Ray Smith's VTBS, but a comprehensive list would be helpful. Just curious. Happy flights!

I'm trying to reinstall FSX. Part way through the process I get an Error 1311 Source file not found... D2Feat~1.cab It is on the DVD and I can open it and see the individual files in it - all with long meaningless names. Obviously I've cleaned the DVD and re-tried several times without success. I also copied the files from the FSX DVD to my hard drive and tried from there but got the same error. Any ideas?

It is on sale for 50 percent off until Saturday night and I am wondering if any of you are satisfied with those planes? I've recently bought PFPX and one of its features is it can randomise the payload of the aircraft. But I have to edit the aircraft payload values manually and it's getting tiresome. The FSX interface is also terrible as you can't tab through fields and have to manually select, delete and enter 4 values. I could buy TopCat which integrates with PFPX and can update the payload but I don't really need all the other things it can do so spending 17 Euros just for that seems daft. I've searched the library for FSX utilities but can't see any that can change the payload. Is anyone aware if anything exists please?

I did some flights recently to Twin Falls Idaho, Mountain Home Idaho and Comox BC. I noticed that the localiser OK at Twin Falls, but did not line up at Mountain Home or Comox. I was using ORBX scenery , but the same thing happens with FSX default scenery. Was ther a fix for this? Ron

Is it possible to change the size/font of the NavLog produced by FSX?

Hi, I am currently considering the Saitek Multi panel for my setup. Before I do buy it, though, does it work with the LDS 763 and PMDG MD-11? I've found profiles for AXE, PMDG's NGX and 747 etc. I cannot find profiles for the LDS or MD-11. Does anyone have their Saitek Multi Panel running with the MD-11 and 763? Thank you in advance.

If you could only buy one of the two airports - which would you choose and why? (I'm working on my Black Friday budget) FSX DX10 Phoenix Sky Harbor or Washington Dulles Intl? Thanks, Ray

Hi there, I have got a question in regard to FSDT products: may customers who bought products by FSDT or other addon provider for FSX sell out there licences? So, when I see no usage for an addon anymore, it would be pretty bad when I have pay all the money and can not do anything with my licences. You know what I mean? I would actually have a proof of payment. I read e.g FSDT do not allow licence transfers but cannot remember where I got this. Can you confirm or deny that? It might be I have not caught the right forum, but was not sure where else would be a nice place for that concern. Wish you good day/night; depending on which time zone you are living.

Well, never thought of this before. I've d always been heavily into modern airliners and/or military; but never thought and "old" aircraft would be as enjoyable to fly as well. Yesterday I got the Captain Sim 727 and the 737, and I am having so much fun with these aircraft. After all I am not into so much of "to the very last switch" on my add-ons, I'm more of a very high quality textures and high aircraft systems. I do mostly hand flying, especially my take-off and landings- that's where the fun is... Well, at least for me. I don't enjoy a bit letting my aircraft fly on auto for more than 1 1/2 hours. I love the challenge of taking off and landing. So most of my flights…

Yes! I've got it at last. Did a jump from FSPassengers to FSCaptain in a day, and to be honest I don't miss airline management stuff at all. Most of all I can fly any airplane without thinking "daaamn, I must earn 60 million bloody dollars to fly this plane". First of all, I really like the whole FCDU concept of communicating with crew and dispatch. The thing that got me excited is that FO and FA have many things to say and announce. The number of FA announcements is way bigger than in FSP. Some announcements have two versions (slightly different sentences), brilliant. I also LOVE that I can announce various stuff to crew and pax: takeoff, takeoff delay, landing soon…

Got a question and can not correct the problem.....I downloaded the southwest boeing 737-800 aircraft, installed it into my test computer ( I always test things in this computer before installing them into my flight sim computer). Now here is the problem both machines have fsx, test machine uses windows xp and flight sim computer uses windows 7. In test machine atc will announce name of aircraft as "Southwest" in flight sim computer atc will announce "Boeing".... I copied over entire file from test machine to flight sim machine. I doubled checked content of air config folder, both the same. why is flight sim computer not reading "Southwest" instead of "Boeing" ??? Thanks …

I have searched a little but can't seem to find a payware (or freeware) package for St Louis (not photoreal). Is there anything out there that I overlooked? Something similar to Aerosoft Cities X perhaps?

The responses I found online were not very helpful in the process of doing this correctly. I know not to mess with the AFCADS from the add-on airports I have gotten but I am hoping to find some updated ones of airports that I will be flying to frequently.

Just bought this add on. Everything looks good, only I have yet to find out how do I make it load the lights on the entire map and not only to certain points. I have my simulator settings set to maximum, inclusive the visibility option.

Hey guys, So I've owned this amazing aircraft for some time but hadn't had long to really learn it. Fortunately, the girlfriend was away last night so I was able to follow the provided documentation and really get to grips with the Dash 8. First things first: an incredible recreation of one of my favorite airliners. Anyway, Speeds. I'm confused. Everywhere I look, I read that the Dash 8's performance levels can give a jet a run for its money. Wikipedia tells me the cruising speed is 360 knots. The included documents give me the impression that this thing wants to move! When I look out of my cockpit window and down at my airspeed, I don't get that feel…
