OK I know this an old thread (2006! When ACES still lived) - however, it is a problem I have - albeit with only one helicopter. Still, I pace good $ for that helicopter and would like to flit it. Hi, I have a little problem here. When I select the tower view for an airport, it isn't staying in place like it always used to do before. When the aircraft moves, the tower viewpoint moves as well, and not a little, it moves quite a lot in fact. I think it has started to happen since I got EZdok, but I am not a 100% sure, maybe that's what causing it. Any help would be great, all I want is to make the tower view static. Thanks.

I seem to be running into an issue i've never had before.. the dreaded out of memory errors.. where the VAS of FSX gets too high.. I have 16GB of memory.. and yeah I know FSX will use up to 4GB on 64bit acceleration.. which i guess it gets near that limit when this happens.. I'm pretty sure i've tried lowering the LOD a bit.. but at the same time i've seen many on here that run with a higher setting than mine in fact.. I'm in Windows 8.1, and I dont run in compatibility mode for Windows 7 as of yet.. havent seen a real need. The latest example of when it occurred.. Hello there! Due A2A's birds and their wear and tear features I've almost forgot some of my old planes. But the other day, searching for cockpit repaints and improved flight models for them I found two very interesting addons to include some of these features in our beloved planes: The first one is still in progress: FSX Aircraft Inspection Mod (version 2). But there is a version 01 for some default planes (you will find them searching in the library by the author name: Ismail Hakki) And the other one is RealEngine (the last version I've found was 1.4). According to one of the Fs global real weather devs -quote- The difference between the other tools and FSGRW is that we don't just use METARs and Upper Air Forecasts to provide the weather. We have many other data sources to create realistic weather where other reports don't have any details. As an example: having CAVOK in a METAR does not mean that there are no clouds. FSGRW doesn't "randomly" create clouds there. Sometime in the last few flights I must have messed up something in FSX because the PAPI4 lights no longer are indicating the correct threshold crossing heights for airports I have flown into 100's of times in the last eight years. Over a period of time I have tweaked the AFCAD's for all the airports I frequent by adjusting the TCH for the GS and the PAPI4 lights (or VASI) to match the current charts but suddenly everything has been corrupted. Let me explain: Most TCH are usually between 50-50 ft for a 3 degree Glide path and a 3 degree PAPI4 will coincide if placed approximately 750 ft from the end of the runway. I just changed my FSX from using the FSX controllers to having FSUIPC run all of them in anticipation of changing to Win 8.1 in the future. Although a long time user of both FSX and FSUIPC, I always used FSX to operate my yoke, pedals and throttle. I was struck by the massive reduction in frame rates when I tried a flight this morning with the Airbus X and my usual programs. It was a slideshow in the mid teens before I got above the weather. Normally it would be in the 30 and 40's range during takeoff and going up to cruise altitude. I did not make any other changes and this was totally unexpected. I would like those to chime in who have the same or different ex…

Please help me complete a list of FSX Scenery what I'd like to refer as a Flight Zone (An Approach scenery) ..rather than just an airport scenery. It should have a good size airport and the entire approach/city scenery in one purchase as a single addon package. These are often my most used e and valued addons. Hi, I have started using Opus for weather instead of REX. I prefer Opus for this due to its speed, accuracy and being able to easily get reports. I still use REX for textures but I am a little confused regarding which textures to load? Should I let REX download its own weather and then import textures based on this into FSX? Regards Tim

I have Trackball Explorer that I use with FSX, i recently had to reinstall FSX and the Scroll Wheel feature for changing various functions on the buttons has quit working. This worked fine before I did the reinstall, Any help would be appreciated. George Clark

Hi all, Not sure if this was previously covered, but I couldn't find it. Basically for the PFPX users who uses it for the Q400, how do you load in the correct payload (ZFW I guess) and fuel figures? Do you do it through FSX aircraft weights panel? Or do it through MJC's Control Panel? Given what's presented in PFPX on the dispatch papers, I can't really find an easy way to load the figures into the control panel. Not like other aircraft, there isn't one (that I can see) field that simply allows me to input the amount of "ZFW" I want to enter, thus I have to work out how many pax there are and fwd/aft cargo I need to load to get the correct ZFW. Hey Flight Sim Gang! So I custom built my computer and it runs FSX beautifully. I of course added some of the standard tweaks and researched long and hard before adding any add-on's. I am currently running an I7 3770K clocked at 4.0, Nvidia GTX 2GB 770 series graphics card with an SSD for windows and a 3TB Hard drive for FSX and 32GB of 2133 MHZ memory. Up to now I am running gold edition along with Ultimate Traffic 2, PMDG 737-700/800 747-400 Queen of the Skies, Airbus X extended. Is there any way to be able to select a particular camera definition view by a keystroke or joystick button rather than having to use the "S" and "A" keys? I want to be able to be in the 2d or VC view and switch to an aircraft view of the wings or any other camera definition. Thanks, Bob.

Actually im between 13 and 17 FPS on dubbai fly tampa scenery when im moving on my pmdg 777 cockpit and between 17 and 19 FPS without move. Hi everybody, I have a question to all of you, excited to hear your thoughts... With the release of P3D V2, I see a-lot of the big name developers (except PMDG) going over to P3D, and showing new features, and stuff, they hint that they now favor P3D. I don't know about you, but now I am very very hesitant to buy anymore add ons for FSX, because I am afraid in the years coming, developers are going to start abandoning FSX, and going to P3D. Just like they did with FS9, to FSX... I have tons of $$$ invested in FSX, do you guys think I should hop the bandwagon now to P3D before it's too late??? Hi all I've created a problem with my hat switch that I can't see how to fix. I have been playing around trying to set keys and axis commands in fsuipc (registered version) I can pan smoothly left, right and down but if I try to go up it does it smoothly but stops about every 20 degrees. I have taken the profile out of fsuipc as far as I can tell and recalibrated the joystick in fsx ,everything works fine except for the one direction on the hat switch which until I started playing around with fsuipc worked fine any ideas on a switch thanks

After downloading I went to FSX. I go to the drop down menu . It's not there. My FSX is in the (X86 ) Program. EZDOC was installed in the (86) Program, NOT in the FSX Folder. Does that make a difference? I was not given a choice where to download it during the install. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hope this is in the right section. Ive done some internet searches but still no positive answer. I have an HD tv id like to hook my PC up to for flight sim. My video card only has a DVI out and my tv only has VGA and HDMI inputs. Can I use a normal DVI to HDMI adapter cord or do i need some sort of converter. Will this work? Thanks for any help at all.

Hi, I just recently bought the Just Flight BAe 146, and I noticed two errors. The first one was that the cockpit night lighting doesn't work, even if I click on the button on the overhead. The second error is that the GPWS is WAY too loud compared to the aircraft and it is also quite misaligned. For example, the "Ten" callout is called when the aircraft is 0.5 feet off the ground. This takes a lot of the immersion straight out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :smile: Thank you in advance.
