I remember back in the day a camera plugin that actually let you walk around the airport, and added hotkeys and head bobbing and all sorts of goodness. What Camera system for FSX do people use today?

I didn't know which forum to post this to. Has anyone used PFPX with "REX Essential with overdrive" ? Also, if you use PFPX with REX, do you need to run REX weather in your flight or does PFPX inject weather into the sim? Thanks Rob

Hi All: I don't know if this is specific to my FSX set up or not, but upon landing at KBOS (Fly Tampa) today, I noticed that there was no tire smoke. I checked my FSX Effects folder and found the effect fx_tchdwn.fx to be present. I then checked the Effects Texture folder and found fx.smoke to be present. The aircraft cfg file showed touchdown=fx_tchdwn,1 Hmmm? I then went to KBGR (Bangor) and KORH (Worcester) (both in the Northeast) and still no tire smoke on landings. Season was default Winter. What I got upon landings was a small amount of snow trails, but no tire smoke. I then went to VHHH in Winter season (no snow on the ground) and upon landing, got tire sm…

I have recently being experimenting with my config and finding ways to improve my experience in FSX, particularly getting things smooth. My usual config is one of using unlimited frames and capping using an external limiter to 60FPS which is my LCD monitors refresh rate 60hz, this results in fantastic smoothness but obviously achieving 60fps is a nightmare. Recently in many cases with aircraft like the PMDG 777 I just do not achieve 60FPS and everything grinds to a jittering mess but I have yet to see an occasion where I drop below 30 ever so I decided to experiment with using the Vsync 1/2 refresh feature to find extra smoothness at lower FPS figures, in my old config at…

, i'm going nuts. I installed SteveFX DX10 scenery fixer, than i uninstalled all the DX10 libraries then un installed DX10. Now when i choose Feelthere E-Jets v2 or EMB 145 , none of the panels work, can't switch any switches. Now heres the funny thing, i have another user account named FSX and on that account i have a copied FSX icon to start FSX, and I also copied my FSX.cfg file over to the other account. now when i start FSX from that account, and chose my Feelthere plane, they all work, as do all other planes in both accounts...What did i do

Hi all I'm new to FSX (just migrated after years with FS9), I can't work out how to save changes, for example un ticking the 'flying tips' option it always 're-ticks itself. Other settings like graphics or traffic and frame rate all seem to default once I've finished a flight even though I have saved the settings. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Regards Alan W

Hi i've recently reinstalled fsx and I also installed aerosoft oslo 2.0 and aerosoft stavanger. The problem is that all runway and taxiway markings are gone. Can someone help me to get them back? I have other aerosoft sceneries and they all have runway and taxiway markings so I can't understand why they are gone in norwegian airports? please help.

I loaded FSX on my laptop a while ago and have not been able to figure out why snow off the wheels and runway is black, It also comes out in a square pattern , smoke does the same thing. any ideas?

I don't know what it is, but I've consistantly had a problem with FSX's default scenery corrupting itself over time, a couple of years back it was TZs being corrupted and ending up with airports that were persistantly in the wrong timezone. Last night as I was just about to touchdown at SFO, I had the crash detection kick in and say I hit the airport boundary fence (I was at about 70'), and I saw the plane model instantly get moved from where it was, to ground level. Sure enough experimenting with various aircraft and altitudes, I needed about 150' at the end of 28L to clear the fence. Re-installing the Scenery folder from a 'just after install' backup fixed everythin…

Hi everybody. This is the first time I am flying a route from Europe to North America, and I ran into a problem. Here is the route from EGKK - KBOS. EGKK SAM1X SAM L620 GIBSO UN514 DIDEL UL149 MERLY UL22 MOPAT DCT MALOT 5420N 5530N 5440N 5250N CRONO DOTTY N162B TOPPS J581 ENE ENE.OOSHN2 KBOS The FMC in my iFly 737 won't accept "5420N 5530N 5440N 5250N" as waypoints. Are these even waypoints I need to program into my FMC or something else? Also the star "ENE.OOSHN2" the FMC can't find. I hope you can help me! - Nikolas

Hello, Thanks for reading this - first off, and to make a VERY long story short, my Condition Levers don't work on the Q400 and the PMDG J4100. They work properly on all three of the payware King Airs. Secondly, Majestic Software did a great job trying to support me even after we determined this wasn't their problem. So, my hats off to them for that effort. All of the common causes of this type problem - running Control Panel without FSX on or running it without the Q400 selected, etc., etc. are not the cause. I had it working like a dream and followed all the installation/setup instructions from the manual but something crashed while I was looking at the manual and now it's all gone pear shaped. I was following my taxi route to Rwy27l @ EGLL when the TGS audio assistance got lost and I was looking in the manual for the hotkey Ctrl+Shift+W to skip to next taxiway when FSX crashed. Ok, not maybe a flaw, but a stumbling stone. We all know that one of the main advantages of FSX in the power of choice. Hundreds and hundreds of addons, dozens of top quality aircraft, sceneries, etc. I bought few top quality planes in the past two years, PMDG NGX737, Airbus X Extended, Majestic Dash Q400, Twin Otter Extended, A2A C172, A2A B377 + COTS, Aerosoft DA-20 Katana 4X, etc. And I didn't started to talk about sceneries! Good Day I just unzipped one of my scenery to my desktop installed it to FSX by the ( scenery Add-area ) every thing works fine so i decided to delete the unzipped folder from my desktop because i dont want it there FAX stopped working message ( cant find /folder/scenery/ blabla/ area /blabla ) So i went back to the Recycle bin restored the folder to desktop ( original place ) FSX worked fine 100% My Question is am i stuck with this scenery folder on my desktop for ever ?? as long as i use FSX ?? or it there a way around it ?? Hi guys. Currently I am running only GEX Europe and UTX Europe, but I want to fly all around the world. GEX and UTX are very expensive if you need to cover the whole world, but is it even better? I have no idea if I should choose FTX Global or GEX + UTX. The night lightning in FTX Global looks awesome and the textures does too.
